My training has massively morphed into a lot of cardio, a couple high rep leg days, 2 plyo days and 2 PT days/week. Immediate goal, besides heal my shoulder, is Halloween....! |

10/8/08 - Wed
Happy Hump Day! I slept in today for cardio.... I've been working a lot lately and struggling to get to bed at a decent hour to get up at 5:45 am for cardio. I went to bed around 11:30, but a bunch of the things I'm dealing w/ at work were running thru my mind all night. I was exhausted at 6:20 am after hitting the snooze button about 8 times. I finally just gave in & set the alarm for 8 am. I have an early conference call so I just took it at home and got to the office around 10:30. One happy thing to note is that I've been doing leg days w/o my knee sleeves. I'm really watching the weights, but for high reps, walking lunges & deep squats, they are holding their own! I'm really happy about this because I HOPE it means my knees are rehabbing a bit too while I'm laying off the heavy stuff. Its the same approach as the shoulder - focusing on light weights and letting the surrounding structure rebuild strength to support the stressed joint. This is definitely a plus for me. IMO not much is scarier than wondering if your knee is going to lock up or just collapse under you, regardless of weight. AM: nada PM: legs - quad focus 5 min WU - bike (level 15) ATF squats: bodywt/20 10 plate/20 25/20 bar/20 65/15 95/15 115/3 -- shoulder started tweaking so switched over to box squats box squats: 115/15 135/15 155/15 --- again shoulder started so I went to GMs GMs: bar/20 65/20 95/15 115/10 SLDLs: bar/20 65/20 95/20 115/15 135/15 155/15 alt leg press: 90/12->10->8->6->4->2, 140/ repeat, 180/ repeat alt leg ext: 30/10->8->6->4->2 40/repeat 50/repeat stretch Last edited by sassy69; 10-09-2008 at 04:16 AM.. |

I suppose its all relative... lol
![]() I'll tell you what is whole new level of sublime pain is doing those high reps & burnout sets. Its like its a walk in the park doing a couple hella heavy lifts & then resting for a few. But then knocking out 20 reps of leg extension w/ 50 lb on the stack is like pacing yourself thru agony. Very humbling! |
