It's tough getting that water in consistently, isn't it?
Love that pic.

YES!
Some days I have a gallon done before I leave work, other days I have to force myself to drink anything because I'm just not thirsty.

Weights:(Scheduled to begin Monday 9/8/8)

I think I'm going to be adding the following lifting routine as it is a 3x5 for beginners. Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength Routine (Thank you M.R.)

I'll be using my home gym in the basement. (200lbs worth of plates & weight bench w/leg and upper body attachments - more than enough for me)

Basically the program looks like this:
Week 1:
Monday - Workout A
Wednesday -Workout B
Friday - Workout A
Week 2:
Monday - Workout B
Wednesday - Workout A
Friday - Workout B
Workout A
3x5 Squat
3x5 Bench Press
1x5 Deadlift (me likey deads)
Workout B
3x5 Squat
3x5 Standing military press
3x5 Pendlay or Bent Rows (or power cleans)
I'll be concentrating on proper form and completion of each set correctly so I'm sure I'll be jockeying the weights the first week or two and I plan on running this for at least 1 month before making any significant changes.

My goal is fat loss - I need to see what I've got underneath my fatsuit. This looks like a good routine to get me started lifting again and with my current cardio I hope it's successful in melting the fat off.

Obstacles:
High blood pressure
Arthritis in the shoulder
Bad knees (no atf/atg squats)

Well I think that should do it for now.

Carry on....

I have to re-learn how to lift correctly and I won't be going real heavy with the weights. Just basic lifts to help maintain muscle.

Cardio plan is in full swing and will be adjusted (if needed) to incorporate the weights. Currently I walk 3.25 miles or do an hour on the elliptical and/or 40 min of yogalates 6 nites per week.

I'm trying to get my bum outta bed to do the yogalates in the am and anything else in the pm but so far I've failed at getting up early.

Thanks Jens
I have to call the chiro tomorrow and schedule the appointment for xrays & initial visit. I'm not sure what appointments she has available now that the holiday is over.

Que, I struggle to even get a half a gallon in on the weekends. It's so easy to get it during the week when you're at work but for some reason it seems impossible on the weekends.

Nice job on the cardio! Sorry I've been a little MIA on AF in the last week or so, just had a lot of stuff going on.

Very happy to see you logging.

Drinking water is hard, but it's all I drink now. 2 gallons everyday. It's just something you and your body need to get use to. It'll get there. At first you'll be making potty break trips every 5 minutes...but for me now...not so much.

I just wanted to stop by and say hi! Your plan looks great! Can't wait to hear about your progress. Be careful with those knees. I'm still having a great deal of difficulty doing squats. Go light! We don't want you to injure yourself! We want a healthy Qtip!!

I'm at half a gallon for today.....I'm still behind! As sad as this sounds I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with water on the weekends. Sometimes I don't want to feel special

I understand being MIA - gotta tcb

I drink 1 24 oz cup coffee in the morning and then it's crystal lite or water. I usually drink Diet sprite or Caff Free Diet coke with my cheat meal on Sunday's.

Claire suggested getting knee wraps - I think I'll look around town to see what I can find locally.

My first chiro appt is this Thursday for my neck issue, initial exam and xrays. Not sure what else will happen at the visit. I just hope I'm back in time to get to the GranPunkin's tumbling class Grammy can't be missin her classes ya know.......

Know what helps me? I bring two little tub things of Crystal Light with me to work or wherever and then an empty bottle of Powerade Zero. A gallon seems like a ton but for some reason those quart-sized bottles of Powerade Zero "trick me" into feeling like I'm not guzzling water all day. since CL is made a quart at a time, 2 tubs is perfect for the day.

LOL I have 4-5 different flavors of the CL in the individual packets so I can change up. I like the cherry pomegranite...it's nummy!
