Hummus and veggies are amazing together. But hummus has always confused the living hell out of me... WHY is it low carb when it's made from chickpeas! Do all the carbs in chickpeas just mysteriously VANISH during the hummus-making process? Are chickpeas really little microscopic alien spaceships whose crew uses the carb molecules as escape pods? Maybe I'm not comparing the right serving size in relation to amount of beans used to make the hummus, but every time I eat hummus I'm like :suspicious: "WHAT ARE YOU."

Yeah, I honestly think it's low-carb because of the core ingredients relative to each other. For example, the number of carbs is easily balanced out by the good-fat content from the oil. Chickpeas are classified as a legume, I believe... so their on-average lower in carbohydrates that grains/flour-based items.

I tend to categorize it as a low-carb/good-fat food. There's some peace of mind for ya'!

Ahhh, ok, I had always suspected that to be the case - definitely the oil. Yummy.

Though the secret alien spaceship seems entirely too possible. *narrows eyes*

I mean, look at them.... they just seem so... sneaky.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of them as they are in the photo, really. I'll get them in a salad and sort of eat them, but not all of them.

But in the PASTE form with the tahini... Oh man!

I need to learn how to make it myself, though. Should be really easy but at least then I can keep it in my plans for my cut, sparingly. I LOVE it with spinach and a turkey burger, yum yum yum!
