YAAAAAAAAAAY for getting to know your body more. I know that I tense up my neck and shoulders a lot when I'm stressed out. I'm really glad she's helping guide you through some things. I think it's going to benefit you in so many ways in the longrun.

Make sure you share your tips on here if you're feeling generous!

It is probably things you already know but is new to me.

I hold my stress in my neck, my shoulders are always up around my ears and my ankle are real loose. I will clench my hands when stressed.

She is teaching me to relax into the stretch and stop fighting it. Like today, my knees are brought to my chest and then both rotated to one side. She worked on holding my knees down on one side and getting my shoulder to touch the ground. On the first side, it took me forever to relax and allow the stretch. On the second side, my body knew what to do and it happened right away.

Little tricks like flexing my quads to help my hamstrings to relax. Extending the heel of my foot while stretching.

She would always show where I start and where I end. It is great to see my body move inches into a stretch.

I have had problems with my neck and stretch it before every workout. She showed me how to stretch without applying pressure and it feels like a deeper stretch and it is less dangerous.

I am learning many little things but when you put them together there is a huge difference.

We did bridges today. It was neat to work the different levels. I was able to clasp my hands underneath me and rotate my shoulders for a deeper stretch. I can't fold my legs over yet

She gives me the names of everything but I forget

It is a lot harder than I expected but I plan on keeping it a part of my training.

Beastly shit claire, very nice. Constant progress in here, yr gona go far.
Props for doing the tough little things to keep yourself healthy like yoga and pre/re-hab movements. Looks like yr covering yr bases the way you should be. Staying injury free is the key to hitting yr potential and a long kickass career i think.

I probably could have struggle and made 240lb but I decided to have my trainer just take it when the bar stopped moving. I don't want to chance injuring myself this close to the meet.

yoga

2 training sessions left

Friday - work up to openers on squat and deadlift

Monday - bench opener then rest until meet

Dynamic Warmup

Squat
10x45lb
2x115lb
1x(135lb,155lb)
suit
1x(225lb,245lb)
1x265lb - I think this will be my opener. I am finally going low enough with this weight and it just feels safer.
1x275lb

DL
6x135lb
1x185lb
suit
1x(225lb,245lb)
1x270lb - Opener - felt easy

The workout went quick. Warmup, squat and DL took less than 60 minutes.

I ended up training someone to use a bench shirt after my workout. It went great because I could focus completely on her and not try to squeeze in my own workout.

Stretched

Just wanted to say hi. I'm glad you're finding Yoga to be so beneficial. Does your instructor do group classes too, or just one on one?

Thanks ILIEKFUDE! Yoga is working out great. Even during my warmups, I could get lower on my squats. Just one more workout (bench opener)!

She teaches classes at two gyms and will be adding a third gym next week. She has quite a few followers. There are a group of yoga girls that only do yoga in my gym. Oh and one yoga guy.

I plan on trying some of her classes after my meet. But I really need the private lessons because she uses her body weight and tells me what to move and tweak as she turns me into a pretzel

I always have a plan After my meet, I am doing an 8 weeks cut. It is a struggle to cut weight to be in the 165lb class and I do not want to stress about weight before a meet. I am not competitive in the 181lb weight class. I am getting help but need to ask before I post the person's name It will be nice to fit in my clothes again

I do not plan on getting ripped. As soon as I reach 155lbs, I will switch to a maintenance plan. So it is 8 weeks or 155lbs whichever comes first.

Okay, last training today. It didn't go that great. My arms are bigger and my shirt is tight. My weight is fine. 168.4lb this morning which is what I will weigh at the meet.

Warmup

Bench
10x45lb
2x115lb
1x135lb
3 boards
1x205lb
2 boards
1x215lb
0 boards
1x215lb - with commands. It was hard to touch.
1x220lb - I wanted to see if I should open with this weight. It was easier to touch but I am nervous opening so high. Not sure what I am going to do. I may have to see how warmups feel before making a decision.

So no more training for the rest of the week. Time to relax, recover and drop 3.4 lbs. I am weighing in Friday night at 6 PM and need to be 165lbs.

Enjoy your week off. Gather your strength.
3 1/2 lbs should be a breeze. No muscle trauma, relaxed schedule, lower stress. Sleep?

Thanks Hidngod! Right now I am not concerned about weight but I will see what I weigh on Wednesday. I am hoping that I weigh under 165lb on Friday morning so that I can eat.
