Default Can I get some help for this girl?

A girl up in CN is competing on Sat 5/14. This is plan with comments at the top. Please give me some feedback on what she's written.
Is this OK or is something wrong with her carb manipulation approaching the show?

She thinks :
- veggies cause bloating
- didn't say anything about fats
- carb deplete for 2 days
- carb load for 3, I was thinking that Friday night I should which to fats instead of stay with carbs. So confusing.

Tuesday & Wednesday, May 10th -11th
Start Carb Depletion/Hyper-Hydration phase
- No Complex or simple carbs ALL DAY!
- Each meal should consist of the following
o 1/2 cup of fibrous carbs (green veggies).
o 2-3 oz of protein (preferably chicken or fish)
o Eat every 2 ½ - 3 hours
o Drink 1 gallon of water. Sip slowly & frequently throughout the day.
o Space water in take 15-20 minutes before or after meals to avoid bloating and stomach cramping.
o Take your supplement and (emer-c)

Thursday, Friday & Saturday May 12th-13th & 14th
Start Carb Load / Hypo-Hydration phase
- Eat very small meals every 2 hours consisting of :
o 2-3 oz chicken breast or fish
o ½ large sweet potato ( Baked or nuked, Not boiled)
o ½ cup of veggies
o Do not drink water with meals> Space water intake 15-20 minutes before & after meals to avoid bloating and stomach cramping.
o Take supplements.

Water intake
- Tuesday and Wednes. 1 gallon
- ½ Gallon Thursday
- 1 liter Friday
- Saturday sip on pediolite.

Before I approach this, I need to know if she is Bodybuilding, figure, or fitness?

I have never trained a figure competitor, so I am not comfortable with giving advice. I would have to see what her exact condition is if I were to give advice.

If she is behind the power curve a bit, ie holding a bit too much fat, then this bodybuilding approach will work. Generally I would think that if she was already in great condition she should just maintain and not go for freaky conditioning, and on the other hand, if she's behind and needs to catch up, she could just deplete for 4 days and then carb up during the last day.

I know that in figure preparation the week before is so individualistic that i wouldn't know where to start if I didn't have a grasp of how she looks right this minute.

Practicing presentation is more than half the battle with most figure competitors...me and PQ picked apart the figure chicks in a prejudging yesterday, and most of the girls didn't look comfortable with their presentation! (Wobbling in the heels, not walking with confidence, fidgeting, losing their facial control, etc.)

Figure is indeed entirely different from bodybuilding in the week before the show. If you're too shredded and vascular it's a minus while obviously retaining too much water is also a minus.

There's enough time to give advice if we can get a picture of her current condition.

She doesn't need to deplete too much...if she'd too dry her striations will show in her back and delts that's not what judges want to see. At this point she's where she needs to be.

The only thing that could set her back is her legs, they slightly overpower her upper body...but then again, figure is so damned subjective it may not matter at all. I wish she had more size in the delts/rear delts though...but that's just me.

A couple of pounds of water drop is all she needs...just enough to bring out her abs and calves some more. Shape, curves and aesthetics are more important than muscular striation/definition.

Her planned water drop should be fine, but she's got to keep an eye on things and adjust accordingly. I don't know how her body holds water or reacts to water manipulation...but if her upper body starts to look like an anatomy lesson more than a day prior, she'll know she's gone too far.

She looks great though. Given her natural aesthetics, shape and tone...she's going to give the competition something to worry about...

One more thing, if she needs carbs on the morning of the show, then let her have them. She'll need a little something to get her through the hustle and bustle of backstage, suit changes, the hot lights on stage not to mention the pain in the ass that's walking in four inch heels. If she has a second pair of pumps, she needs to take them, as well as a small sewing kit for her suits. You never know when a strap will pop at the most inopportune time.

I honestly think she is over thinking this...and should just drop her water and deplete for a few days. The full carb loading and full water manipulation is for shrink wrapping the skin around the muscle and filling the muscle out, but if you don't have that leaness and muscle...as figure girls shouldnt...there is no point in going that route.

The prob is so many try to incorporate what a bbr does towards the end into figure and end up makig these girls come in soft...etc. Carb loading with higher amounts of body fat ,,,is not going to make you look harder. I am not saying they are fat but they are not to the level of leaness a bbr.

Therefor, don't treat them as such and as I think everyone agreed.....just keep it simple.

Ditto muscles! She needs to keep it simple! I don't really like the 2 day carb deplete. It just doesn't seem like it's long enough even for figure. I don't like the carb up either but since she is only going to deplete for 2 days 1/2 sweet potato may be enough... Now that I think more about it I don't like the water manipulation either. Is she still doing cardio? That will take care of the water issue a little. And she needs to start dropping the water on Wed. And only drink water when she eats her carb meals on the carb up days.

Not bad for her first time out...did she grill the judges afterwards for any advice? I hope so. Tell her congrats and to post again soon...figure competition is a subjective biotch, and hearing more about it from an insider is always helpful.

AKKKK!!!

I am so sorry I didn't get back to this thread...

My In-laws are moving to Florida and their closing is Sunday~the last week and a half has been insane~they have a 5000 square foot house they have been in for 15 years~there is sooo much to pack. It is insane.

I apologize to Ulter for not coming back to this.

I suck.
