10.13.08

Bench or a mere resemblance of a chest press

warmup, I was rushed and hurting so the rushing did not help
135x10
225x6
225x4
315x4

2 board
405x1 I knew I was in trouble at this point

Add Katana, size 52 and wet
495x1 4 Board
585x1 2 Board

620x NO TOUCH
645x NO TOUCH

I was done after this. The tendonitis in my forearms has flared up worse than before Seniors. The bar alone hurt to hold and hurt even worse on the bottom. I tried some mental blocking but the pain was to intense as I got up there in weight. I had to stop after the last one. When I got home I couldn't even grasp a glass of water and raise it to my lips.

I downed a percocet and had 3 double Jack's and Coke. I am getting cortisone shots in the forearms on Thursday. I'm fucked and out of ideas at this point. So............... I will squat at least 1,047 lbs. and bench 315 lbs.

WOOFUCKINGHOO for the total!! SS, RB

It's time to rest bro. You'll be fine at the meet. Open up raw or with a loose shirt and then go for broke. Squat big, bench big, pull big!!

That's the plan Ray and BM.

I've made a decision concerning Powerlifting. I'm close to the end as it is. Those closest to me know this. I've decided that I'm going to retire and just be a judge. With the recent turn of events I have a lot of anger and am very bitter so I'm taking it to the platform. From now on I will be THAT bitter, resentful judge that EVERYONE hates. I will change my lights so that both of them are red and NEVER have anything good to say to anyone.

I'm very happy for this new path I'm going to travel. See you all on the platform!! SS, RB

That is not the way to convince me to come do a meet in AZ.

Yes, but you know that I can not disreguard my ethics to give a false light. However, we all know who has given me a red light when I clearly deserved a white. But, I know you still love me.

I don't know what you're talking about Ray and unless you have video or audio proof this is a blatant case of slander.

Supposed to bench but had 20 g. 1 1/2" needles shoved into my forearms for cortisone injections into both arms. Oh the joy of it all. SS, RB

RB...rest...and PT. Are you rubbing any heat into the forarms before traiing to help loosen them up? What kind of grip work are you doing?

I'd hate to see you retire at the top of your game. Even if your bench isn't where you'd like it to be.

When is your meet? Try what has been mentioned above..stretching. Seek some massage therapy as well. This does wonders. You're not that old to retire just yet...besides...PLing is an addiction...hard to stop cold turkey!

Take care of yourself and reconsider your decision. Would enjoy seeing you continue to compete and achieve new goals.

Just remembered..Nov 1st You have time RB.

Sorry to hear about the setback.

Rest, relax and focus...and eat your cookies!

It'll improve your mood for at least 30 seconds!

I am NOT retiring. I'll be lifting even if they have to roll me up in a wheelchair.

I don't know where everyone is getting that I'm retired. I don't think I said that. LOL. I've been doing this since 1987 and have no plans of stopping soon.

I rub blue horse linament into them before lifting, do some light hammer curls and make sure I'm good and warmed up. I ice after lifting and do my own massage on the forearms.

My grip work is just through what I do in the gym. I don't use straps often at all.

I compete on Nov. 1.

No more cookies BSG. I can't hold this weight for much longer and may have to drop before the meet. I'm miserable and have to tape my eyes open to see. The bloat is absolutely insane.

I went through this with Seniors. I know what does it but unfortunately bad luck with shirts put me back here again. This will be the last time I have trouble with shirts. I know what to do to fix and now will do that. SS, RB
