Where to get Androgel cheap?

So my Dad started Androgel.

Since he is self-employed, he has to pay full, out of pocket price for his prescriptions.

Where is the cheapest place (online or otherwise) to get Androgel, legitimately?

Walgreens, Riteaid, etc, want about $270 for a 30 day supply.
Drugstore.com wants about $240 (shipping not included).

I believe it is the 30day, 50mg per day dosing that he is on.

Legitimately, you will not find it cheap. My buddy got his I know for cheap, cuz i was scoring it off of him for $80 for a 30 day supply, maybe your pops can hook you up, or find a way to make your insurance covers it, the doc can do that for sure. He found a way to get my provigil covered.

50mg of teststerone in each gel sachet.

Each gel sachet is 5 grams. And it's 1% testosterone by weight (5,000mg * .01 = 50mg.)

Okay, I misread that.
In that case there are places selling it for around $150 for month's worth.

When I was taking topical test 3 yrs ago I was getting it from a compounding pharmacy for $65/month. It was their formula and not "Androgel". You might want to check out compounding pharms in your area.

Note: if you want it compounded. ANY pharmacy should be able to do that for you. I just went to Walgreen's

The only issue I would have with a compounding pharmacy is wether or not the finished product is as effective as Androgel.

You should just be able to call the doc and have him send the script in over the phone. Usually no need for an office visit.

My doctor gave me the script for compounding, not androgel. I just took it to Walgreen's and they made it up. It took a day though.

I'll add another vote for compounding pharmacies.

In addition to checking ones in your area, you might look into national ones (i.e., those that are licensed to ship to the rest of the country). They're often even cheaper than the local ones. (To be clear, I'm talking about legit compounding pharmacies rather than, say, the sort that write the script in-house without any face-to-face contact, blood tests, etc. Your doctor will simply call [or fax] in the script and they'll prepare the medication as a local compounding pharmacy would then send it to you.)

When you factor in the 10% to 20% uptake from the 50mg application, you end up back with a sensible daily dose of between 5mg and 10mg of test.

There's a lot of variation from the use of Androgel.

In my case, it keeps my total test level at around 700

I am self employeed and have been on Testosterone for a few years. Could no longer afford it. I was referred to a "COMPOUNDING PHARMACY". They can make it with a good delivery system for about 1/6 - 1/4 the cost of Androgel. I googled compounding pharmacy and found 2 in my area.

Nice bump 1st post AZCooler.

I'm using Angrogel, the 1.62 ng/lt pump. Each bottle is 60 pumps worth.
My script is 2 pumps am, and 2 pumps pm.
So each bottle is worth 60/4 per day = 15 days.
2 bottle cost me $20 in co-pay.

Would compounding pharmacy provide a similar level as Androgel for cheaper?

I'll want to ask my endoc in my next appointment in Nov 2011 for possible alternative.

I get generic Anrodgel from Mexico. It is manufactured by Solvay. I pay about $70 for a month supply. In Mexico it is called LowTiyel Testosterona gel 1%. Many generic drugs that are not available in the US are available from other counties in generic form. I have used this product for many years and do not see any difference to the Androgel version.
