How dangerous was the bar with no collars and that kind of weight. He might have gotten a few more reps if the weight had not started slipping off.

Dude is a beast.

Wow. Do you think he works out?

They really should have put some decent collars on though.

Cool thing is the grip power, no straps. Never even reset it. I've seen guys pull that kind of weight for reps before, but they've all used straps. Looks like he could've done more if the collars hadn't popped loose. Impressive!

Impressive! The guy is fun to watch. He puts on a show! As for the collars, I don't know that they make any collars that will hold 800 pounds being slammed over and over. Typically, on heavy weight we have to repack the weights for every lifter, regardless of a weight change.

Our collars pop off if we come down to hard with a lot of weight on the bar. I don't think there is a collar out there that will stay for this many reps, or more, with that type of abuse.

Same issue at our gym, we usually use more than one set of collars for heavy rep work.

That's a good idea G. We will start doing it that way. What collars do you guys have?

Konstantine does the same (albeit touch and go) with no straps with 815x6, at almsot 100 pounds less bodyweight than bolton.. IMO konstantin is the best DL'r in the world.

YouTube - Konstantinovs hang deadlift 370kg(815lb)-6 reps

but i highly doubt that proper gear was used at this event. they were even duck taping plates on, using non callibrated weights.. i heard it looked like a circus.
