Default Hancock

I can't tell you how happy I am that Hollywood has done a 180 on action films and decided it's okay to use an Academy Award winning actress instead of the next Jessica Alba. Paltrow in Iron man and Charlize in this film proves you can actually put a talented 30+ year old in a film and they will light it up. Charlize makes Will Smith a better actor in the scenes they share. And that's doing something. After enjoying great acting in this film the first thing I thought of was how fast Alba would have ruined this film after seeing how much Charlize Theron brought to the table.

I enjoyed it. After thinking more about it, I can see why many people weren't fond of it though.

I'll say this, I agree with you on Charlize Theron Ulter. She was very good in her performance.

I think it was a good movie. Not IronMan good... but it was still entertaining and fun to watch.

I was personally impressed with how PR advertised Hancock so much during the NBA Finals yet when we saw the film there were still many surprises and funny moments that were not revealed in the trailers. I hate when commercial advertising uses the best parts of the movie to get people in the seats -- that's when you know the film is going to be garbage.

Not the case with Hancock, though.

I saw it a few days ago with my teenagers. Everyone agreed it was a disappointment. Theron brought beauty and ability, but her role - "We come in pairs" - made zero sense.

I haven't seen a decent film since "There Will Be Blood" .....

My post really wasn't supposed to be an endorsement of the film. It was about what I perceive to be a new trend that I think is long overdue.

As far as making sense. Isn't the idea of a superhero film to suspend your sense of reality?

As far as my opinion of the film, it was somewhere in the middle of the pack of superhero films and if the acting wasn't as good as it was I would have lost interest. The editing was clumsy, Jason Bateman sucks, and a lot of scenes should have been left on the floor. The "feel good" scenes were particularly clumsy as if they were an afterthought just thrown in because someone said, "hey we need a feel good scene somewhere". They pulled you out of the film they were so misplaced.

I agree with T-cake about the trailers. There are scenes in the trailers that never even made it into the film and some good gags were left for the paying audience.

I couldn't agree more with you bro.
And talking on ironman, Gwynett was showing her simple and clean real aspect there, which makes her my favourite actress over all.
Love her freckles too
