Bought a Plasma TV for the GF's Birthday

So I discussed this a little in my log, but Monday was the GF's Birthday. It was narrowed down to a Yorkie dog or a dishwasher for her. I felt weird with the dishwasher.....like I might as well hand her a mop and broom while I was at it, but it was her choice to decide

The dishwasher is still WAYYY cheaper than a Yorkie though, so that was a big plus on my side.

So a few days before her brithday she shot down my hints on the dog idea....although just 2 months prior she wanted one

So I was really feeling weird on the dishwasher thing. BUT, I was chillin at the parents house early that day and they mentioned my brother had just bought a 50" Plasma TV a few weeks prior.

It's like a light suddenly went off in my head

She had mentioned the TV in the past a few times as well

So in one of her cards, I told her that she had the option to choose anything she wanted, but mentioned the dog, dishwasher and TV as options/possibilities. I should have added a vacation trip somehwere too...oh well

Anyway, she picked the TV option

So yesterday we are driving down the freeway on our way to SEARS, and I told her..."Watch, i'm gonna go buy this TV and my car will probably breakdown tomorrow on my way to work." She started laughing. SEARS had the TV I wanted...ahem, she wanted, for 1799.00 and 18mo no interest. It's the Panasonic 50" PZ...80u that is mentioned in Consumer Reports and other sites as being the best buy. So they were sold out of them and I actually got it for the sale price, even though they were supposed to take the sale sign down, and forgot. So that was cool, we pick it up on Sunday. My brother has the same model and it rocks

I drive home, hit up Carl's Jr.....2 Western Bacon cheesebugers, Medium fry, Diet coke and a chili-cheese burger

I drive into the garage and park at the house and my fukken car breaks down with a loud cranking sound!!!!!!!

As a note, I lost 2-lbs from yesterday. I was 243-lbs in the morning yesterday, and today I was 241-lbs.....It's all about the Western Burgers people!!!!

Your gonna love it.

Nothing better then watching football on a 50 incher. Are you wall mounting it? If so don't put it too high.

Starting out, it'll be on a stand, but eventually we'll probably mount it. Thanks for the heads up on the mount position. I was wondering about that yesterday.

Yeah, it sucked they were sold out and had to order it because I was wanting to watch the UFC this weekend on it

Congrats tho. I have a 56" Sharp Aquos LCD above my fireplace with a nice 180 degree rotating wall mount so we can watch TV from the dining room. And my audio system is so sick it would make baby jesus cry. I love it... and Im sure youre going to love your, err I mean your girls new toy as well

I got a 50' plamsa panisonic in Feb., I love it, DO NOT PAY $$ FOR THEM CALIBRATE IT. WOrst $300 I have ever spent, might as well of flushed it down the toilet.

Yeah, that's what the guy at the store said too...lol. I'll just go pick it up and install it myself. He said the delivery and installation fee was unnecessary money spent down the drain.

I had mine calibrated by Avical and I could definitly tell a difference. Eliab is supposed ot be one of the best in the country though so maybe thats why.
