Anybody else caught this?
It's starring some young dude and features performances by Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman. This is one good action flick for two main reasons: A really good, interesting plot and some genuinely funny parts. It's about this kid with a horrible 9 to 5 job and anxiety issues who becomes an assassin. Some of the special effects are crazy, but imo a little too unrealistic. Cars spinning in the air, driving on buses, etc. a little overboard and too similar to how I usually drive but cool nonetheless.

A nasty piece of work

I liked it! It was a fun popcorn flick. It, like so many films coming out this summer, was from a comic book. The big difference was the change up in story - I can't really go into it without spoiling anything, so I'll hold off for now.
I saw Hancock the other night too. I'm not sure what is up the critic's ass on this one - there was some funny, funny moments in this. I'm guessing when the story did a turn, they weren't fond of where it went. Good summer for movies, overall - in the end it'll probably the largest box office summer we've ever seen.

A huge factor in the potential for hugest summer ever is price of tickets though... they won't stop going up. 10 bucks in the tri-state suburbs.... more like 12+ in manhattan. Grrrrrr

I'm glad this was mentioned because I was wondering how the movie was going to be liked. My initial reaction from the poreviews was that it looked cheesy with the unreal action scenes. I don't mind that too much as I am not too picky as long as the movie is still good with a decent plot. I'll have to go check it out now.
Getjacked, thanks for the Hancock heads up too. I was unsure on this one too. I watched Sandler's movie this last weekend. It wasn't great, but it didn't suck either....give it a 'good' rating. It's probably more suited for a movie rental than a ticket at the show. It will be a good watch on video though. That guy is a NUT!!! BMJ ![]()

I don't think it's a definite either/or... I would say its worth seeing on the big screen though... while some of the effects are over the top, some ARE amazing regardless, and the camera work is nasty.
In terms of effects imagine say the bourne trilogy meets the matrix. Car chases and wild angle fight scenes.

Speaking of Morgan Freeman and other movies.....is/was "The Bucket List" any good?
I think that's what it is called. The movie with him and Nicklaus (sp)? BMJ ![]()
