Oh man comon, in that first post, all those qualities you said were good for kids and families are about dogs not cats.

i heard the perfect comparison one day. it said:

dogs want their owners to be happy and will do whatever they think will make their owners happy no matter what it is. Cats would like you to be happy but dont expect them to lift a finger for you.

pretty accurate i think. maybe a slight exageration but the fact remains that dogs are much more involved members of the family and cats are much more independent. (in general of course)

Whats the deal with ordering out of state and having the puppy shipped to you?

If this a safe way to go?

I've had several friends order from out of state and they just pick up their dog at the airport.

I'd want some references first.

Check out the local shelters and rescue centers. They have plenty of puppies that your daughter can grow up with. As for small dogs, I wouldn't trade Molly, the dog in my avatar, for anything. She doesn't fetch, she can be very demanding about her food, she has her spot where she sits on the couch, and when she wants her attention she doesn't take no for an answer. With all that said I have no problem calling her my best friend.

"A" looks a bit beefier in the face and I like the black in his paws.
