Oh and they are great with kids. Read up -- this is not a fanatical owner's biased opinion.

Dayum.....I just came back from the Pet Store a little bit ago. My daughters were looking at Chiuaua (sp?), Pomeranians, Pugs and English Bull Dog.

I didn't know dogs were so expensive these days. the first three averaged about $1700.....the Bull Dog was $3500.

I grew up with Dobermans.....would love to get a Grey or Black one.

Bulldogs from breeders are much cheaper (far from cheap, but much cheaper). I'd guess ~$1500 or thereabouts.

Look online for a minature boxer. I saw them online a few years ago. Its a boxer but pint sized. They are cute as hell and still look tough like a boxer. I love those things... The only reason that I didnt get one at the time is because they were 4 grand

Yorkies are great little dogs. They're so sweet.

Guy friend of mine felt like a douche getting a Yorkie with his ex girlfriend, but he did.... and named it Angus (to try to make it sound badass). He loved that dog like crazy.

This is Waffles. Hes a miniature schnauzer. Just like a yorkie he's hypo-allergenic.

they really are so sweet.. mush mush My daughters dog was gone for a few days with her sister to her mom's house. OMG, He was a wreck. He missed his house and his pizza, lol. When he got home he was so ecstatic to see my ex. They are one of a kind. They both love each other so much its rather funny - I usually chat with him once a day and we always talk about Cody.

I love my rotts but Bunny's statement rings true. It's tragic when you look at the amount of animals that are in shelters. My ex-wife helps with rescue dogs and is involved with the adoption/rescue process. There are far more good dogs than homes......

Animals are great for a family. Yeah the responsibility can suck at times, especially when it pretty much ALL falls on you. But I think its important for children especially, to be raised around animals and see first hand growing up just how loving an animal can be. That alone instills a lot of values in a person whether they can perceive it or not, and I truly believe that those values will carry on later in life even into parenthood.

Good people + Good Animals = Good Families

oh, by the way Cats > Dogs, kthxbye

I dunno I think you should edit the thread title to:

So my wife wants a Yorkie.... so we're gonna get one.

2 to 1 odds on that one.
