Doing "IT"

I remember the day when I pulled my daughters aside, and we all sat on their beds and had a talk about "it." The oldest was in third grade, and the younger ones in second and first. I was careful to keep the conversation age appropriate and "light" and funny. I made them a promise though, I promised them that if they ever heard something at school or anywhere else, that they could come to me and ask me about it and I would give them an honest answer. Now that my oldest is going into middle school, we have had our fair share of terminology that I had to explain - "blowjob", "69", and "rape" being among the few I remember off hand. I have answered them each time and they know they can come to me and talk to me about anything and I won't freak out, but I will also let them know where our family stands on the issues they bring up. So, I guess we have an open relationship, and I've not freaked out yet - until tonight.

I told my kids to head off to bed and they immediatey called downstairs for a "Hug, Kiss" our little night time tradition. I told them, "No hug, kiss tonight. Daddy is already undressed for bed and I am going to take a shower, but we love you all very much." My middle daughter, the ballsy one, said "Undressed...? Are you guys having IT tonight??" (chorus of little girl giggles) I stumbled through a response "Wha-? No! That's private and you shouldn't ask me about that." (more giggles) and a few seconds later, "....and I meant he was in his boxers...." (full fledged laughs, now).

Ah to be a parent.....

Good for you. I explained everything too and probably spent the most time on the "how to" portion since he knew a lot from school already.

Wait until they are fully fledged teenagers and know dang well that when you go to the room, lock the door, that you are going to do "it". Then they wait about 10 minutes and start banging on the door to be let in, giggling their little butts off!! SS, RB

Yeah I know that's coming, lol....it's fine, it's the way it should be. With as active as we are, I've been wondering when it was gonna click for them why we spend so much time in our room and grump at them severely when they knock on the door, lol. But I refuse to move to the floor to reduces noises. I put a pillow behind the headboard to stop the banging, and beyond that, too bad, lol.
