What books have you read or are reading that you like?
I just started reading "The Places In Between" by Rory Stewart. It details his walk across Afghanistan in 2002 after the fall of the Taliban. It's very interesting so far. I also love biographies, and just bought one on Teddy Roosevelt, but haven't got to it yet. For my novel reading I go more for thrillers / mysteries. Some of my favorite authors include. Brad Meltzer Stuart Woods Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels And just recently read a book by Randy Wayne White. What's on your lists?

read that 2 years ago, nowhere near as good as the first 3 (which were way better then the movies). but I didn't expect a ton since it was written by some guy I'd never heard of. They just put Ludlum's name on the cover since it was based off his character's
The last few year's I've really been into travel and adventure books. I've read a bunch of books by guys who have climbed Everest Into Thin Air - Jon Krakauer (who also wrote Into the Wild, which I also read and, as usual, was better then the movie) The Crystal Horizon: Everest-The First Solo Ascent - Reinhold Messner The Other Side of Everest: Climbing the North Face Through the Killer Storm - Matt Dickinson some general travel books A Load Of Bull: An Englishman's Adventures In Madrid - Tim Parfitt Lonely Planet Bad Lands: A Tourist on the Axis of Evil - Tony Wheeler Lonely Planet Tales from Nowhere: Unexpected stories from unexpected - Don George motorcycle travel books Jupiter's Travel's - Ted Simon Riding High - Ted Simon Long Way Round - Ewan MacGregor & Charlie Boorman Race to Dakar - Charlie Boorman Long Way Down - Ewan MacGregor & Charlie Boorman Motorcycle Therapy: A Canadian Adventure in Central America - Jeremy Kroeker Mondo Enduro - Austin Vince there were one or two fiction novels in the last few years too but nothing that stands out enough for me to remember, besides the disappointment of the Bourne Legacy Mondo Enduro On my too read list are: Dreaming of Jupiter (30 Years On) - Ted Simon Kaplan LSAT 2008, Comprehensive Program |

I've been into biographies lately. I like the inspiration they provide. I last read "Buffet: The Making of an American Capitallist" and it was fascinating. Buffet is quite a unique indvidual to say the least. Dude was living off of his 50K/year salary while he was worth hundreds of millions of dollars. As of the time the book was written (mid-90's) he had not sold a single share of Berkshire Hathaway.
I'm reading a biography on Lincon at the moment called "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln". It's very good (and it makes me sick when I think of the state of politics today vs. back then, though there are certainly common threads as well), but I'm barely reading 20 pages a week lately ![]() |

If you're interested in personal growth I would highly recommend The Road Less Traveled by Scott Peck. It is a great book IMO as far as dealing w/ life's problems that hit us on a continual basis. It's an easy read and will keep you interested. He really puts things into perspective. Not sure if you have kids but this book is a must for parents. My mom gave me a copy when I graduated highschool and told me to read it. I've read it 3 times since then. It was one the best things she's done for me.

Currently reading "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne
Its about thinking positive and thinking of the good things you want to happen and that by doing so they will happen. Its states that by thinking negatively then bad things will happen. Interesting read anyway. |

Great quotes in there. The subject matter material was basically taken from the Abraham Hicks books and put into a different marketable format. If you want to read further into The Law of Attraction, the Hicks have been dealing with it since the 80's. I absolutely love all of their books and audios. The Secret Video Is a great start down that road, but definitely missing a whole lot of important pieces. ![]()
