Affliction's show slated for Oct. 11 at the Thomas & Mack Centre has been postponed according to sherdog.com. The event, which was to feature a heavyweight tilt between Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett will instead be held at the Honda Centre in Anaheim in January,

Did they ever release the buy rate on the first ppv?
No sport/league/promotion should be thinking about selling 20k arenas from the go. That's just nuts. Affliction has a lot of money behind it though and some good names. I believe it will last. Whether it is as a true alternative to UFC or simply a profitable mid-sized promotion, time will tell.

I doubt the second show ever happens.
Which I'm cool with, I'd like Prangley, Belfort, Lindland, Barnett, Ect back in the UFC

I would love to see all the fighters in one fed. A new list of fights every two weeks, and there would be no question as to who is the best in the world. I love watching Emelianko fight and am a huge fan, but to be called the best heavy weight of all time...your gonna need to jump into the UFC and knucle up. From what ive gathered on him from his interviews its not all about the money for him, so going into the ufc and silencing the nay sayers shouldnt be a problem.

Their pool of talent was small and always going to kill them anyway . People dont want to see the same fighters every card no matter how good they are .
I am with sylva on the fact that it would be good to have em back in the UFC . I still consider Linland the biggest threat to Anderson that can actually make 185lbs . Luca |

----------- Affliction and Golden Boy Promotions make partnership official (Updated) by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Sep 13, 2008 at 4:00 pm ET The recently rumored partnership between upstart promoters Affliction and boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions was finally made official today at a press conference in Las Vegas. The newly-formed partnership will include four co-promoted pay-per-view events to begin in 2009. The cards will feature both mixed martial arts and boxing matches in the same ring. As reported earlier this week by MMAjunkie.com "Affliction: Day of Reckoning" was rescheduled from it's previously-announced Oct. 11 date in Las Vegas to a new Jan. 17, 2009, date in Anaheim, Calif. It is not immediately known if that card will be part of the new partnership between Affliction and Golden Boy. Despite earlier reports to MMAjunkie.com by Affliction Entertainment Chief Operating Officer Michael Cohen that WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko would be taking part in the rescheduled card, Vice President Tom Atencio did not make mention of the Russian's participation. Additional terms of the deal were disclosed to the media by an afternoon press release, and included several cross-promotional ties. According to the release, Affliction will create signature shirts for all major Golden Boy-promoted boxing events. The signature shirts will be sold on-site at the events, as well unspecified retail outlets nationwide. Affliction will also become the official licensee for the Golden Boy Enterprises-owned Ring Magazine. Affliction will be creating several boxing-themed shirts that will feature the iconic Ring logo, as well as classic Ring Magazine covers. "Golden Boy Promotions is the top boxing promoter in the world, and we look forward to working with them on future projects," Atencio said in the release. "With our companies working together, it gives Affliction another vehicle to deliver our products to our core customers, as well as utilizing Golden Boy's promotional expertise to further our efforts in Mixed Martial Arts." MMAjunkie.com will have more on this story as further details of the deal are released.
