A littttttttttle bit soft/water-retention looking in the front because T.O.M is wrapping up and I was naughty and had some white rice with my sushi last night. But I'm not really worried about that. I'm excited for my progress in my legs and tush!

Thanks, Sassy! I'm working on my poses. I'm thinking a lot more than I used to. I seem to struggle the most with where to put my hands for the side poses.
Thanks, D! I'm happy with the progress so far too. I don't think the pics really do me justice but at least the changes are still noticeable! ![]()

You're doing great -- as you are noticing - you are more aware of the poses as you get familiar with them, but be sure to be comfortable and be able to fall into those poses naturally - not have to look in a mirror (you won't have a mirror on stage) and always hold your head up, chest out, shoulders up & back. |

I also noticed on your back pose - you tend to drop your right shoulder a little - not sure if its related to your elbow -position, but watch that & see if you tend to do that naturally. And if so work on remembering to bring it up just a little bit after you settle into where you naturally settle. I had that problem big time in 2007 because I jacked my right shoulder real good the year before and it was a lot more loose than the left. It seems to be coming back to where it should be, but I worked a lot on that - like I said - you won't have a mirror when youare on stage, but you want to be confident in how your body tends to go when you are distracted and nervous and probably aren't going to remember all the little cues and ideans you had during your practice sessions - it really needs to be complete reflex by the time you hit the stage.

That's the goal for now (trying to go on stage and hitting those poses like I've done a billion shows).
And YES! You're totally right. When I went to the Gopher State Classic, the girl who won (who ended up taking overall figures for the Chicago show last month and got her Pro card) was completely relaxed and looked totally natural and pleasant. The other girls had a borderline look of panic on their faces for much of their time on stage. They were fidgety and unsure of themselves. Smiling or not, their body language and eyes were dripping with "wtf? is this right?" and I turned to my friend Amy and said "I am NOT looking like that when I compete in the fall!" It was a night and day difference between the girl who won and everyone else. I'm also trying in these pics not to cover my butt/thighs. That's pretty much my target area for what needs to GO and I try not to block it with my frickin' jazz hands. My hands got in the way a lot. Maybe I'll bring them down to the sides and slightly forward for the pics?I've never noticed that about my shoulder! I'll have to work on that in the future. Thank you for the advice! ![]()

You look awesome.
![]() At this point, it's all about the butt. When the butt looks good, we "stop". If it takes 'til your show, that's what we do.
