Kabeetz, I definately share them same feelings. There are too many awesome members to fit into one year. I think that is what makes this plan effective though because it will really bring out the quality in our posters. Not that they need a title next to their name to be honored, but it is kind of cool, and there will never be any losers at this board ever...except maybe YG. What I am trying to say is that is makes it more of a "prestigous" honor to be the winner.....heck, to even be nominated.

Yeah, the mods get super bowl tickets, free airfare for traveling, free AF supp's, and thousands of dollars per month for pay....oh, and ChefWide gets free hooookers

You guys are too kind, but really, this is just one thing we really want to award the members with here.

I think tomorrow is the last day to get nominations in and then the voting for the inaugural MOTM can begin.

Blut, maybe just finish out the week to the 14th, which is Valentine's Day here in the States...not that V-Day has any importance...lol? I have this written out, and was gonna add/merge it in at the top of this thread once I get some of my mod powers back to do so:

Please name who you feel should be nominated for the March, 2008 AFboard Member of the Month in this thread.

Here is a recap of the rules:

1. A nominee must be a participating member with at least 100 posts to their name.

2. No Mods or Administrators are up for nomination. So no sucking up to Ulter...lol.

3. Only members vote, and not the admin or mods.

4. When nominating somebody, state the reason why they are your choice to be a featured member of the AF Board.

5. You can only be up for nomination once per calendar year, and once within a 12 month period.

6. NO self-promotion or soliciting members for support.

In participation, we ask that nobody show any negative feelings toward other nominee's and the members nominating them. We want to keep this addition a positive experience, and it is the total votes of the site that are important, not just one person's nomination.

Also, please remember that this is a month-to-month plan, and that nominees should be chosen based on this performance month-to-month. This means that a nominee not chosen previously can win over somebody chosen on the previous month. This also means that it will not be rewarded to those with the highest post count or how long they have been a member of the site. So you can say that quality and helpfulness month-to-month will beat out vet status and popularity. This also means that even those members who are on the short-end of the spectrum for physcial genetics, can win. Maybe some of our long-time vets will come out of hibernation too

We will continue to accept names until the 14th of February (Valentine's Day to be exact). At that point, we will take all the nominees mentioned, and place them into a pole for voting the final 2 weeks of this month.

I've been trying to convince myself that change is good, but the image of his new avatar has been haunting me for several days now

I know it's a little late for this, but I think this should be, you can only win once per year, etc. If you have 2 superb, above the crowd, nominees and one wins, the other cannot be nominated for a year. I'm sure that won't change their posts, but it would be nice for them. I think you addressed this in the paragraph I marked, further down.

Keep him. People are different & have different moods, temperaments. His avatar has no effect on the quality of his posts & support of others.
