Default AFBoards Featured "Member Of The Month" Plan & Rules

Dear AF members,

We will have a new monthly addition to the board that we think is an awesome idea towards rewarding those who bring quality information and help to the board. This addition is to have an "AF Featured Member" chosen by the members of the board as somebody who they feel has been valuable to the board over the course of each month. At the beginning of each month, we will have an open thread where names will be nominated for the opportunity to be chosen as the featured member. The last 2 weeks of each month, we will take those names and place them into a poll for voting. The winner becomes the AF Featured Member for that next month.

Here are the rules:

1. A nominee must be a participating member with at least 100 posts to their name.

2. No Mods or Administrators are up for nomination.

3. Only members vote, and not the admin or mods.

4. Please only state one person for your nominee vote. If possible give a reason why you chose this person. If more than 1 person is nominated by a member, we will only take the first name listed.

5. Prior WINNERS, are not eligible for re-nomination.

6. NO self-promotion or soliciting members for support. NO voting for yourself under any alias names either. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT YOU WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED.

7. No voting for yourself under any screen name. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT YOU WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED.

8. Upon winning, each member must write a short bio of themselves, along with answering a few basic questions that will allow the members to know their winner a little better. Nothing personal, just basic questions. Pictures are optional, but encouraged. The winner has the option in answering these questions however they feel appropriate in order to protect their identity. Examples of the questions are below.

Each monthly winner will receive:

1. $50 free merchandise from the AF Store

2. An AF T-shirt

3. A "MOTM" (Member of the Month) title for that month they win.

4. An additional 10,000 rep points next to their name.

5. Bio of themselves up for display with all montly winners.

IMPORTANT: If you are chosen for the final 2 weeks of voting, please note that we can take you off the poll if you do not want to be a contestant/nominee.

The winners will have their information in a locked sticky thread for everybody to read. Each monthly winner will be added to that sticky.

In the event of a tie, we will then have a 24 to 48-hr run-off at the end of the month to try and establish a clear winner.

Please help us make this a successful, positive addition to the board. Additionally, don't forget that there is more than one forum with awesome advice given from it's members. And please remember, this is the member's opportunity to give praise to those who help make this discussion board the best on the internet!!! Absolutely NO negativity will be allowed on this plan!!!

Thanks!
AF Staff

An example of a bio would include any of the following that you feel is appropriate to add on your behalf:

-Profession and education background
-Training history
-Competition accomplishments or experience
-Discussion board history
-How you found AF
-Family info (if you have kids, married?)
-Other

Here are the examples of the questions you will answer in addition to whatever you choose to add in your opening bio:

1. What type of training schedule has worked best for you over the years?

2. What type of diet plan have you found works best for you?

3. What type of supplementation do you follow or use?

4. What are your personal lifting records or accomplishments that you are proud of?

5. What are your personal short and long-term goals at this time?

6. Who do you idolize and look up to in the bodybuilding, powerlifting, or weight training community, past or present?

7. What tips can you share with other people that you have found effective and that they might benefit from?

8. Any closing comments?

Please note a few things:

*This will start February 1st of 2008. Please use this thread to ask any questions regarding this new addition to the board.

*The winners are 100% in control of what they want to add into their bio's and answers. If you do not feel comfortable adding certain bits of information, then please do not include it. However, most of the questions added are not really personal, and we hope are safe to ask. The questions will help with those who do not feel like sharing much in the bio's.

*A separate thread will be posted on February 1st to start this thing off, and by March 1st, 2008 we will have our first male/female winners.

*I'm sure there might be some initial kinks to the program that might need to be ironed out, but I think we pretty much have things in order. Please share your thought in this thread

*If there is a particular question you all would like to have added to the questions above, please state what you would like to see asked, and we will see about adding it. Please keep in mind that some questions regarding AAS use might be too personal of a question to ask, but if the winners would like to include that info on their own, they can.

*This is for the members so please make the best of it. You all deserve it because you make this site great.

Hope you all enjoy this!

Thanks!

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ NEW NOMINATION REQUIREMENTS:

With the addition of so many new and pretty faces on the board, we wanted to take a moment to emphasize that nominees be individuals that add value to the AFboard through their support, assistance and sharing of knowledge with other members. There have been some questions on whether this plan is leading down the path of a "Best Body Contest". To that we say "NO" -- AFBoard MOTM is not intended for that purpose.

To emphasize the original objective of the MOTM Contest, we ask that you consider the following when casting a vote or nomination to ANY member:

1) We DO NOT want voting to come down to whether or not somebody has posted pictures, is sexy & pretty, flirts with you, or even posts a lot on the board. So in other words, to all of you horny guys and women out there, yes that means probably all of us....NO more "Oh, he/she got my vote because she has a nice ass and always posts in a thong or tighty whities" replies.

2) For nominating a member (NOT voting for... just nominating), the following MUST be stated by the nominator:

a. State the person's board name you are nominating.

b. State why they are beneficial to either you or to the AFboard.

b. Give an example of what they did to benefit either you or the board (even a link to the a thread or post they made that stood out to you would suffice).

3) In responses to nominations and vote counts, NO NEGATIVITY IS ALLOWED! If this occurs, your vote will be taken away and you will be banned for that month of the plan. No joking or sarcastic comments will be tolerated.

Bottom line:
Put some serious thought and reflection into your nomination choice. Dare to think past generic answers regarding a nice butt, great photos, "he/she's cool", and "they make me laugh". We have an intelligent community here -- put it to good use, please.

With these few changes, we aim to keep this contest high quality. This Contest was created so we see the greatness in all members in all forums. When casting votes and nominations, consider posts seen in the Martial Arts board, Contest board, & Injury board. We encourage women to visit the Anabolic and "male dominated boards" and the men to visit and support the Women's Board and the logs they have up. "Support" doesn't mean requesting pictures of the opposite sex either, leave that for the Pictures forum and Off-Topic.

As stated in the original rules and regulations, we will address any kinks and problems that come along with the plan.

Please state your concerns on this thread below. We welcome any comments or suggestions to better this plan.

You all make this site the best on the internet, and we thank you for your participation.

Thanks,
AF STAFF
