I will again and better!
|
We are trying to figure out a routine for my husband.
He wants to lose weight?????? currently he is 185lbs and is 5'8 . I was looking into the hypertrophy workouts, but I don't know if that is the best route to take??? I can post this in the diet forum as well but he works really hard during the day (b-pressure welder) so given that would the bodyweight x 10 still apply for a caloric def?

Does he have access to a gym C?
Put him on a circuit/type plan, no? Maybe 3-4 days of lifting only? 10 x bw is too low for the average male IMO, but others will disagree. If he doesnt eat often or frequently, chances are him metabolism is a bit blah, so he has to give a full THREE WEEKS of 100% effort to eating healthy to kick start his met to where it will be at a good starting point. |

Honestly, if he gets it then that's cool, but it can overcomplicate things if he doesn't...
If all else fails, start simple, and get in there to begin something. Like Lower Body (more compound movements) Upper Body (more compound movements) Off Lower Body (more isolateral movements) Upper Body (more isolateral movements) Off Off or a 4 day split like these 4 Day Split Workout: Back & Biceps / Chest & Triceps / Thighs / Shoulders, Calves & Abs or 4 Day Split Workout: Torso Pull / Torso Push / Leg & Arm Pull / Leg & Arm Push Off can be cardio days, at least ONE day off from everything a week. what came to my mind "keep it simple stupid (me being the stupid, and no I didn't think you were calling me that" LOL, just what came to my mind LMAO.
thank you, now just one more question.... what is reasoning for push and pull? it probably is a stupid question but refer to above statement LOL (you must spread more rep before giving some to bunny)

he didn't like the 5x5 (not sure of his reasoning) looking more into the push/pull for me
..... he just phoned and said he wants to do whatever I am doing LOL.

Knowing you girl, I think you'll enjoy it.
Be sure to select exercises from that list, you can vary every week as well if you need to have constant change. It's just the plans and you are the architect. I think you will do well with it.
