Vegtables that is. I use to a while back but it can be a pain in the ass w/ clean up and such. If I was to start back do you think it would be OK to juice up a bunch of veggies and then just store it in the fridge for the rest of the week?

Hi Cranny, yes I was juicing for a time back in Nov. I was dx with lyme and was on a lot of meds so I was very into detoxing back then.
The clean up is the only drawback, but I felt so great when I juiced. I heard you can't keep juice for more than a day in the fridge or it loses most of it's value. |

Actually you only retain the value of the juiced stuff for a couple hours. I got caught in that as well - I could juice in the morning before work, but then to have anything once teh day got started - I was limited to within a few hrs of getting to work, assuming I was able to keep the juice refrigerated.

HEY SASSY :-)I would let Sassy juice me anytime ;-)
Getting all the veggies prepped and the clean up is work, but so is getting the gym gear on and getting our butts to the gym, but damn, we're worth it right? Last edited by Blueta2; 09-15-2008 at 05:25 PM. |

I purchased a greenstar juicer around 10 years ago for around 500$ and its one of the best investments Ive ever made. Some benefits from juicing are as follows:
-Detoxification, especially in the liver (combined with a good epsom salt/grapefruit juice liver flush once a year and your body can process so much more) -Increased energy (in some aspects better than caffeine, especially in the length of the energy boost and the fact that there is no "come down" -Increased digestion, relief of any and all constipation -As mentioned the live enzymes which help in ALL aspects of excercise and body building For the main effects you need a really good juicer, preferably an elctromagnetic one, and you must drink the juice immiedietly. Just throwing veggies in a blender isnt bad or anything but you do not get the effects of pulp free instant live juice. I reccomend a Greenstar/Greenlife or a Champion juicer. My juice I have always used is pretty much this: carrots + celery + cucumber If you want to detox your kidneys add beets. I also will do an antioxidant Green only juice, which is spinach + celery + cucumber + parsley and pretty much anything green you want to throw in. Wheatgrass is good but is hard to juice. And it does take awhile to get use to this as your body can reject all the nutrients all at once. (barfage). I reccomend only organic veggies, scrubbed clean first... and this can get quite expensive. The downside is the cleanup and time it takes to prepare all this which can get to be 30mins to an hour. BUT you dont have to do it every day maybe 3 times a week, I like to do it on my chest back and saturday (as I do major cardio on sat also) ![]() |

What makes you wanna barf... and youll feel it comin you get all warm and sweaty... is the massive dose of nutrients hitting you all at once. Just stick to around 8-12 ounces of my miracle mix (carrots+cucumber+celery+a few parsley sprigs or a very little amount of spinach) for awhile youll be drinking 40 ozs soon. If you dont like the taste add a Grannysmith green apple that will make it taste REALLY good but its usually not in line of most people's diets.

Out of curiosity Nubian why no carrots? That has always been my centerpiece because of the Beta-carotene, the ease that it juices other veggies with it, and the um..... helpful digestive qualities:
![]() *edit* think I see why, been reading the anafit diet and it seems corn and carrots converts to sugar to cause more fat growth. Interesting.

Why would you spend the time, money and effort on juicing when you can drink Monavie and get the antioxidant equivalent of 13 fruits and vegetable in only 4 oz's a day. And its 100% organic and wild grown fruit.
And you can even get it for free or make some money. ![]() |
