I watched a competitor this past Sat show a very dry, lean look through his shoulders, chest, and arms. Noticeable striations throughout. His legs had decent size but were incredibly smooth when compared to his upper body. Would you chalk this up to genetics? I've seen people at shows w/ no wheels before and have a great upper body but this dude had the wheels. They were just unusually smooth. I know lower abs, lower back and glutes are the slowest for me to whip but I've always noticed leaness comes and goes proportionately for the most part.

Yea, everybody has got their areas where the fat is last to go. I think its genetics.
Maybe he needed to push the envelope a little more or maybe just needed more time.Lots of dudes train upper body like a wild man, and dont get serious with legs unil later. Eveyone is not as balanced and disciplined as the CRAN MAN is.

my ham glute tie is my toughest spot.. even @ 7% I couldn't get rid of it. Naturally my coach recommended lol.. believe it or not to just touch it up with lipo and never worry about it again. He dated a girl that had the exact same build, muscle, everything like me but same problem in the ham/glute tie. Oh well we can't have it all... I guess part of my latin genes too...

How old was this guy? You tend to see that effect in the 40+ guys where their natural test production is down / estro is more apparent and they get have the same great muscle base a 30 yr old, but now have this new estrogen issue they never had to deal w/ before.
It is also driven by where your body tends to hold fat and how much conditioning has gone into prep. You also often see these types of effects on first-timers in competition as they've only spent 1 competition cycle dieting down. It can take a few times to diet down far enough and also condition your body to hold / drop fat more efficiently. And a last effect might be if the cycling wasn't done well and he's holding water from an aromatizing compound that hasn't dumped yet. |

I got good sized and proportioned legs, but it took me awhile before I could get the cuts that I was seeing in all the other competitors. I changed my workout and posed more, and the cuts started coming in. Stretching and massage helps too. Just takes more for some to get those wheels rollin!
