Use a preshave gel and a soother when you're done. May work and may not - some people just get those bumps regardless. if the bumps are unavoidable and really bother you and you're not hopping on the stage just get some clippers and clip everything really close.

The only place it bothers me, is my left arm, and my boobs, they itch like crazy.
I got three jars of skin cream from Nivea don’t know if it helps And also use Gold Bond Creams to cut the itching, and some Chinese balm, which really helps. Use to spray AIFM on my boobs, can’t anymore, itches too much. |

Wash yourself first like AG mentioned. PeteM's idea of using a conditioner on the hair works sometimes too for 'softening' the hair follical. Exfoliate the skin where you are gonna shave with one of those exfoliating brushes or with something. This will help clear any dead skin and pull the hair out some to also prevent some chances of ingrown hairs. Use a good razor, I use the Gillette Fusion razor myself. Cleaning the razor with alcohol before using may also help.
Dry off well with towel, then apply prescription antiobiotic to skin. I have a Rx for clindamycin gel 1%. I have no answer on the shaving creams. I have heard good and bad on all types, just make sure that the skins stays wet and that you do not use too much to where it clogs the razor and multiple swipes needed. This will increase irritation. Animal was selling a topical Idebenone (sp) solution that many people liked to use instead of creams/gels....but I never tried it. Right now I use Skintimate "sensitive skin" gel for myself. I can usually avoid razor burn everywhere now except my upper chest...nothing has worked for me in that area. I also still get it in the arm crevice opposite the elbow from rubbing irritation. Kabeetz had a good write up on this, I believe the off-topic board, where a male hair guy told him to exfoliate and just shave using the bodywash I believe. I have been shaving with the same bodywash soap I use for my body on my neck lately, after exfoliating, and NO razor bumps at all. The secret is to exfoliate. I use either Dial-3D or Old Spice High Endurance bodywash in the shower right now ![]() BMJ ![]()

I would also suggest some sort of toner after you shave... I use body scrub first, then just regular dial with one of those fancy venus razors with the aloe/shea strips on both sides... I shave with the grain then pat dry... after that I apply witch hazel to everywhere I've shaved, then a cocoa butter/aloe moisturizer ... that has been working better than any way ive ever done it before AND i havent even gotten razor bumps on my underwear line after shaving my stomach which was a huge issue for me

I use a deep pore-cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a
water-activated gel cleanser, then a honey-almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb mint facial masque which I leave on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after-shave lotion with little or no alcohol because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing "protective" lotion |
