I was brought here by sassy69, and I'm already diggin' it. I'm glad I found this section so I could say a little about myself.
I'm a lover of yoga and cooking. I adore weight lifting, but because of my fibromyalgia, I've stopped it for the past year and a half. I also love running, but haven't been able to for the past two years for the same reason. If you want to check on my progress or know what fibro is, you can check out my journal in the Women's Workout Journal board. Cooking is something near and dear to me. I've done it since I was 5 years-old, and had to start making dinners for my siblings when I was 7 because of a family situation. Baking my own cakes and just being a lazy POS in general landed me at 220 by the time I was 17, and it stayed around there until I was 20 and decided I should start lifting weights. Because of the genes from both sides of my family, it worked out pretty well. I wanted to see more gains, so I paid more attention to my diet. I wanted to see more definition, so I paid more attention to cardio. At 21, I wanted to enlist in the Marine Corps, and I lost 35 pounds in three months with my diet and exercise regimen. It's one someone can keep up for a lifetime, and since it wasn't a fad diet, I didn't bounce back to my previous weight when I had to stop during boot camp, MCT, MOS school, or when I was stricked with fibromyalgia...although I am a little heavier than I'm comfortable with! I love weights and think a muscular body looks beautiful on a man or woman. It's a great sign of health and dedication, of caring about oneself. I don't understand the "muscles are useless in our society" mentality. They're not, and you're a scrawny idiot to think otherwise. I guess that's (more than) enough to post right now.
