:help:
How do you people deal with low carbs day, as far as wanting to strangle every single person around you and then feeling light-headed and then blacking out and waking up in a bathtub full of sugar?
The toughest part is not eating carbs after 6pm and then not having anymore carbs until 10am the next morning (I do morning cardio on an empty stomach at 6am so I delay my first intake of carbs until later) So basically from 6am - 10am I'm a walking nightmare!!!

How low you going Booey?
It is tough. Just keep your eye on the prize and take satisfaction that most people do not have the discipline to do what you are doing ... but will complain to you at the pool about how they look.

You're definitely right, but the physical effects in the morning are rough bro. Guess I have to just ride this out.
I'm taking about 75 grams of carbs on low days (but that doesn't count my PW drink).

It's all in your mind brother. You must show that you have controll over your desires. Instead of having all of the challenges that you have, look at it as an opportunity to show that YOU have power and control over anything that YOU wish. It's all about perception.

I got her a box of chocolates for Valentine's Day. That was insanely tough. I only had 1. But that was on a cheat day.

Live it up w/ your 75 g of carb... try carb rotation on 0 carbs for 1-2 days. My first competition I used carb cycling and happened to get called into a completely stupid meeting w/ my boss about the pricing for an additional hosted email box (I.e. we were trying to push people to buy packages of 10 emails at a time instead of 1, so the pricing on individual ones was ridiculous)... my first low / no carb day of ever running this cycle... omg... this meeting went on for way too long and was butting up against my 3 hr time limit to eat again... Holy mother of God... I'm suprised my head didn't start spinning. I unloaded on my boss about how silly this whole topic was, how I already had an MBA so she doesn't need to talk down to me about marketing and that it should just be *this* (whatever *this* was). I talked to a co-worker about a year later and she mentioned that my boss had described this one day where I just didnt' seem like myself....
Its all about anticipating the feeling and managing your behavior. If I can compare it to something that might give you a little insight, its sorta like the day before a women's period starts and the weird mood swings creep in on you for no apparent reason and you just want to rip off anyone's head who talks to you about anything remotely annoying.

Good insight. Well, if my wife says I'm being short, I'll tell her I'm on my period!! lol!

75g of carbs?? Wow that's pretty good! LOL
Are you taking fish oils by any chance? My current coach has me taking 6 per day pre-contest & my husband commented that in his opinion, I was no where NEAR as cranky as I was the previous times when not taking them.....so you could try them & it may help.
Otherwise, you just gotta focus & realize that your temper will be a little short & try & not take it out on others. Try not to be in situations where you'd get POd if possible.

Man they are gonna get worse and I am just gonna have to mentally focus on them. And period, what period?? that is a goner too

I deal by pre-making my meals. If I've got my entire day's meals sitting in the ice box ready to be ate I've got no problems.

Low carb isn't always fun. But it works. I am going on week 3 of not more than 20 carbs per day, so I don't feel too bad for you. :p Actually, after a while you get used to it and feel normal again.

You just learn to adjust and anticipate the mood swings when you feel them coming.

its all mental dude. just sack up and picture yr goals and realize its just chemical reactions in yr brain n body making you feel that way.
if you reduce it in yr mind you realize its nothing more than a feeling similar to touching a hot light bulb. whether it affects you or not is up to you.
and yes, i have low carb'd contrary to popular belief. my first venture into dieting took me from 240 to 180lbs.

Do you take BCAAs?? I found it helped some with that "low carb" feeling.....i was less hungry too....plus the Xtend tastes good & is almost like a treat....

I need some schooling on this.
I was under the impression that people did this while gearing up for contests. Both of my cousins did this before their local amateur bodybuilding competition. Correct my if I'm wrong, but it sounds like something some of you just do every so often? If that's the case, why? What are the benefits? If I'm mistaken and ya'll are just doing it pre-contest, then lemme know.
Feel like a n00b for asking, but I'd rather know than worry about looking dumb :D

I'm very carb sensitive & get quite "blob-like" when I eat carbs, so I *try* to stay low-ish carb most often.....doesn't always work tho....LOL they're just too good!

I hear you on that. I stay away from wheat most of the time for that reason.
