Default Knot in my back

'Sup fellas?
I've had a killer knot in my back for a few days now. I've been getting rubbed out 3 times a day, puttin Flex-All 454 on it, as well as a heating pad. It's starting to loosen up a little. Tommorow I have back and traps. Would it be OK to train them if the pain has somewhat subsided?

Default Don't do it

If you did injure your back I would skip this weeks back workout. If your back feels ALOT better before next back workout, do it but do it light. Back problems are for life!

Just my .02 cents

Default chiropractor

If u r in to them see a chiropractor,
They have ways of dealing with the pressure point and have various electro stimulation to break up those knots.
I had a knot from a long period of driving right on the inside of my left scapular, hurt like a bitch, but a chiropractor work on it for a few and by the end of the day it was breaking up and feeling much better.

Default back pain

Try icing it down. Ice is better for acute injuries than heat. 15-20 minutes at a time. After the ice it is okay to apply heat. This causes the blood to kinda "wring" out the injury waste products. Good luck. Go Wolverines!!!!

Default No pain, but might still be "hurtin"

Here's the lowdown on injuries. When you injure somthing you feel pain. After a while, the pain subsides a wee bit. It isn't that you are any less hurt, it's just that your body is telling your pain receptors to cool it down a bit or your gonna have a very miserable few days. Once you start to heal the pain begins to subside. Before long, you feel well enough to work out. The only thing is that more than likely your not. Reason being is that your body has increased your pain tolerance and it has not yet returned to normal. The injury is still there, it's just that your body isn't as sensitive to pain in that area for now. A good rule of thumb is to wait at least 3 days to work an area after the pain has subsided in order to have a better chance of it being healed.
