Default Green Tomato Extract

I have a question that was asked of me and I am not familiar with Green Tomato extract. I think the trade mark name is Endofil CR.

This is for a person I work with. The unrealistic gains that are supposedly made while using this supplement sounds to good to be true. Which scams like this usually are.

But if some one can tell me what the extract is called or if there is any real study associated with this extract, it would be much appreciated. I suspect what is quoted must have been done on untrained athletes or something else! Gains of 100% to 150% in the squat and bench press sounds like this may be so.

I think you mean Endothil-CR and I can't find a legitimate study anywhere.

I can't find much that's useful besides www.thedoctorslounge.net with a search on Solanum lycopersicum, the herbal extract itself. The only thing comes up is a German study presented last year where green tomato and mistletoe extracts (among other herbs) were used to treat Hepatitis C patients. No follow up articles that I can find.

The site selling Endothil-CR (expensive) links to a forum on TritonHealth.com, but the only person raving about Endothil, it's clinical trials and what it does is an anonymous guest that will not go into detail about how it works or where he/she gets their information.

I'm thinking scam...

Thanks PQ on the info. I will pass the information along. I too have not found anything on this substance except forums where people are chatting about it.

What some person does to try and make a buck. I can see use as an anti-oxidant but anything else must be a line of shit.

Sales pitch site/info via http://www.endothil.com/ (Novex Biotech)

I like this attention-grabber on the home page: "Better Than Steroids?" Their self-generated answer (link) Is Endothil™-CR Better than Steroids?

Dr. Daniel B. Mowrey, Ph.D., explains, “Most doctors understand the cumulative, detrimental effects steroid abuse has on the human body. So anything that can impact muscle mass and strength without relying on steroids or steroid-like compounds has a clear and unambiguous benefit to both professional and amateur athletes... and is well worth the effort in altering established training regimens.”

So, if you see athletes popping a tiny little pink tablet developed to help trauma victims regain muscle size and strength, don’t think they’ve gone off the deep end… they may be smarter than you think.

Same site posts this but... http://www.endothil.com/EndothilResearchSummary.pdf

I glanced at those and besides the statements beginning with "it is theorized" the last PDF states:

"Based upon the observations from laboratory experiments, in order for Endothil™-CR to exert a maximal effect it must be incorporated into an exercise routine. The exercise routine will have the most impact if it incorporates routines that produce muscle exhaustion."

That kind of intense workout, with the right diet, will build lean muscle regardless of the presence of Endothil...also, no diet specifics were listed for either the placebo or test group.

It doesn't state if either group was divided into subcategories based on lifting experience, body type, composition, age or anything else. Were they all doing exactly the same exercises, same times of day, to failure, while on the same meal plans for the six week period in question? And what kind of a trial lasts for a tiny lil' 6 weeks?

There are too many variables at first glance, too sketchy. I admit, I haven't read the whole thing yet, but so far I'm not sold.

But...but...but...how can you NOT be? (stranger things though I suppose).

I like this part; "So, if you see athletes popping a tiny little pink tablet...

If I do, the only thing I'm thinking is; DBol!"

I remember a similar trade mark by this company for oxedrene! A deep tissue oxygenator by increasing the amount of oxygen in the blood. Which amounted to be Rhodilia rosea(spelling I know it isn't right but you get the point). Not to mentioned the study was for people living in high elevations with thin air, like that had nothing to do with high oxygen levels in the blood. Much of the same comments to go along with it.

This means this company is marketing to make money, the trade mark for the name should be a red flag!

Good entertainment to read the claims. But I am sure there has been a few suckers out in the world that have bought this to find out it didn't do a thing for athletic performance of any sort!
