I guess it could happen.

Did you ever go for your mri?

Yes, I went for the follow up for another one on my back, still havent gotten the one on my knee(s) though (right knee is the main issue right now).
The MRI on my back didnt show any new herniated disks or any exacerbated condition of the current herniated disk. They think I have inflammation and thats causing pressure on the right side now and not just the left where the herniation/pinched nerve is. I went very light on the deads as I havent been doing them. I only did 4 sets of 5 reps, and none of them were heavy.

135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 5
405 x 5 (this is when the tricep thing happened).

It hurts to extend my arm and my upper back is killing me, like right where my arm comes into my torso and the pain radiates in that area. Whats weird is that while my tricep seems to hurt the most, I have a feeling that any pulling exercise will hurt more than a pressing exercise...if that makes sense. Youd think it would be the opposite given the afflicted muscle.

That doesn't sound like a triceps muscle. Internally/externally rotate your shoulder and see where the pain is.

Agree with Pete... likely a lat tear. I did the same thing a few years ago. Left my side under my armpit black and blue.

yes, probably. I feel it in my tricep, yet doing tri excercises cause zero discomfort or pain

Latissimus dorsi attaches to the humerus, which is why you 'feel' it in your triceps area.

its what pete said. i did that earlier this year when i first came back. that was one of the 20 or so issues i had if you remember me posting all the little shit that happened and all the partial tears and bruising.

the bigger question is why werent you deadlifting? i thought you were trying to put muscle on?

you mustve missed the injury posts. Trust me, i WISH it wasnt necessary to lay off of em
I was busting PRs weekly with deads for a while, but my injury slowly but surely got worse and worse. It sucks because i started to LOVE deads. Anytime youre breaking PRs on the regular you love it. One day it got so bad that i could barely move. Even standing almost totally still, with just the slightest movement of my torso i got shooting lightening bolt pain down my legs. It got very bad bro. I can try to explain to it, but youd really have to experience it to understand it. I thought my spine was tearing in half. I had consultations for an epidural in spine recently for it. But decided to not do it as taking a couple weeks off deads has helped alot. Ive been trying to slowly reincorporate them. I only went to 405 this week when I was going to mid 500s before it got bad

I 've had your injury and my deadlift is stronger then ever. You have to work to fix it with mobility, stretching etc. It will not go away by itself.

I didnt do deads today, but the pain is already 100% gone from what I can tell. I do need to stretch more. I really do...im so unflexible and i know it adds to my injuries
