Hi guys,

2007 was a big year for me. Not only did I totally transform my body, I went through alot of personal changes in my life that have REALLY made me a Happier person. I won't go into detail on that, but lets just say that I am now single and have such a great quality of life. My ex and I are truly the best of friends ever. Heck I even got him a valentine's day gift, lol. Bigass GIANT fan, I couldn't resist.

You will learn about me through my journal, that I am a VERY and I can't emphasise very enough, DEDICATED, MOTIVATED, COMMITTED, FAITHFUL (although I love to goof and flirt alot - its the kid and CUBAN in me) GENUINE AND GO BALLS TO THE WALLS KIND OF PERSON. I wear my heart on my skin and am a giver not a taker with anyone. BUT don't cross my shit, because you will be done and GONE in my book. I do forgive, but there will be no more chances to let you in.

Well lets start with 2007. One fine day in January I was at the gym and I came across a man who befriended me, not flirting, but he truly felt that he saw potential in me. We became the best of friends. He is now my mentor and because of #1 my dedication and #2 JOHN, I was at the gym practically every day in 2007 unless my daughter had something to do or I was sick.

We worked hard and with WEIGHTS alone. I didn't start incorporating cardio into my workouts till June and July 2007 and that slowly died out till September where cardio became a religious event for me. These days i dig the cardio because slowly over the last few months my lungs have learned to work it, but I used to HATE cardio. I rather throw plates around than get on the deathmill and the benefits of strength training are far better than those of cardio, especially the way we workout.

We pushed, we pulled, loaded and unloaded. I packed on a nice amount of muscle, but it wasn't lean because of the diet and lack of cardio. My diet was horrible, but I love food. I ate anything and everthing in sight. PLUS I can eat. I have always been able to outeat the men in my life, hence, they always loved the big old curvy me, lol.

Although I have thrown up some pictures, I am gonna put some in here to show more of my progress from last year, so you can see how thick I used to be and how far I have come.

The road has been the best so far and the most important part of this all is all the people I have encountered that have become true and dear to my heart. That is what matters to me the most..

Mind you I have cut the amount of weight in 1/2 on alot of my lifts. I am going for very intense workouts at this point because I am essentially not going to be putting on much more muscle.

Today I am going for my cardio session @ 8:15 this morning and since I got all my lifts in for the week, may just go do some core and lower back/stretching. I will also go get an adjustment at the chiro. These have been so great to my journey.

Aww thanks GIRL. You are such a sweetheart. I just got back from a drive down to the coast. I did my cardio this morning before I dropped my daughter off @ her Dad's place. I am now eating my oats with lean dessert and broc. Gonna go hit the gym in 15 to hit back and get some posing down in the aerobic room... You know wall to wall mirrors, I need those @ home, hehe. Gonna wear some short shorts, but no pics today, lol. I think I will feel more comfy with tighter stuff on. Don't ask me why :o

Then laundry, food shop, cook and what ever else is in store for me this evening.

I am gonna do some pullups, rows, pullovers and some of those rack chins. Gonna try to get on an incline bench and raise it so my feet are higher. Better go find my straps, since it will be me and my ipod.

Happy Monday all, well some of you may have the day off but WW has to work and its gonna be a busy week. I am off tomorrow though, lol. My daughter's school decided to close tomorrow too, grrrrrrrr. I got up early to hit the gym, get cardio in, hit some poses, shower, and be @ work by 7am, this way I can be done with my day by 3 or so.

I am so ready to kill the deathmill for 15 minutes and then the stepmill. That stepmill is helping pump my hineys and RG's pictures help motivate me this morning :banana:

Ok, this crazy chick is out of here, Oh I did some core work yesterday right after my posing and salsa shake off,lol and man they are tight.

I need to take my camera to the gym, lol.. whoops did I say pics.. CROFTY will be in here in 1....2...3

Anyhow, I just wanted to come in here and sorta vent, well not vent, but mention that people crack me up and people are so motivational to me.

I never train @ my gym so early, but did today because my babygirl is at her Dad's so figured get a early head start. Well I ran into these 2 that I used to see back in the day when I used to go at the crack. The gentlemen pulled me over, lol and said "The transformation you have done is totally incredible" He said that he didn't recognize me until his wo partner pointed me out. That and comments like that make me so happy that all the DAM HARD work I do pays off. That got me so pumped that I tore up my posing session hehe and will be back tonight, grrrr major audience then oh geez. I love the peeps at my gym, they are all in my corner :heart:

Then I ran into this girl that is in there day in/day out and OMG she has packed on so much weight. People need to understand that DIET is the ultimate key to your success, YES weight training and cardio are the additives, esp. the weights but you can train all you want and unless you clean up that crap you eat, you will make no gains or losses.


ok, well sorry to go off there for a bit, but had to get it out.

Off to get some java and eat my eggies and oats. WW is hungry :frantic:

That's the part that seems to allude everyone. Working out makes a difference but too many people think "well I did 25 minutes of cardio on the elliptical, so that means I get to eat cake for dinner".

Well done on the progress. It's cool that peeps at your gym are noticing your progress and transformation-- man, I hope I have that someday! That would be awesome. :)

2008 will definitely be another GREAT year. I have so many good things coming my way and can't wait for the 2 months to fly by. I am ready, well almost. Mentally I am.

I can't wait for summer though to regain alot of my strength through adding more clean nutrition and going even more HARDCORE.

OK, I felt the strength in me tearing through my veins all day. I couldn't wait to get to the gym tonight and do chest. Although my back workout from yesterday put a nice feeling in my back and its still pumped. Abs too, I did some good work on them and well, it hurts to sneeze. Excellent.

I hit some more posing tonight. I took advantage and ran in the aerobic room 10 minutes before the class started. Lol, I had an audience in there and then some standing outside by the glass, totally felt comfy. Had my ipod on to get me into it a bit on my pivots. I wore a bikini top and my boxer shorts, so I felt a little more comfy too. lol, a few want me to let them know when the next session is so they can show up with popcorn.

Ran some errands and now gonna sit down to eat. 2 pieces of grilled chicken, 1 cup brown rice, brocolli. Yes I eat alot of brocolli... its what I like and I buy it by the case. Much easier... :grin:

You're right not to let yourself be bothered by steroid accusations. I'd grown used to it at the gym but I was even accused once of using steroids by my wife. I remember her words, "I know you're on steroids so there's no point trying to deny it".

I ordered my first cycle about two months later.

Ok, did my cardio session this morning. Banged out only 23 minutes, no biggie. Hit about 30 minutes of posing, had my oats while I caught up with the gang @ the gym and headed out. GRRRR, I took my daughter to chuck e cheese, lol. I swear I am a big kid and all the moms were looking at me like I am a big nut. But I love to have fun and nothing is better than doing it with mini me. That little girl cracks me, she is turning into a crazy little young lady like MOM :wiggle:

Went back to the gym @ 5, another 30 posing session and met up with JOHN. He is the man! Then hit a 30 minute deep tissue and went to lay on the waterbed with jets. Ahem, I fell asleep too, Dr. Tom cracked my back and I was out.

Just had some chicken and broc and gonna hit the shower! I am spent and I didn't even go to work today! Now I need a foot rub :coolugh:

Yep, April 19 is gonna be the biggest day of my life, lol. I am soooooooo excited. I have so much to do and really the time is gonna fly by. I can't wait to go to the arnold, sorta a little get away. I can't wait to meet all that are coming with...

you know I had the camera all ready but my friend Matt, who works there, was short staffed today - so he sorta felt bad, lol.

I am not really super shy, but then again I know pretty much everyone at the gym. So the more I heighten my level of confidence I won't feel to bashful in front of tons of people that I have never ever seen.

I think though that the adrenaline will definitely kick in @ that moment for me. I can't believe I am going to do this... I can't wait for years to come and look back at these moments. I am very proud of myself.

aww thanks.. man I am so EXHAUSTED and cold, bbrrrrrrrrrrrr. I had an awesome workout but too tired to post it now, will come in in the morning to post it. I am going to see my coach tomorrow and get my bf and weight checked and revision on the diet, I HOPE, lol. Man I am hungry quite often and am eating alot - I don't get that a bit,???

I am gonna make a choc fudge lean desert shake with water in a few and a spoonful of natty patty. My daughter killed me today.. darn she asked me to order pizza - so I got 6 DELICIOUS SLICES IN THE FRIDGE chanting eat me eat me... :dinner:

Great workout.. the drop sets really did a # on my legs :p

No training today... The snow kept me indoors and I felt the need to take a day off training, catch up on some reading, bills, spending time and laughing with little Ms. Fidel CASTRO over here. She is the boss of me, grrrrrrrrr!

Tomorrow I am gonna go hit cardio in the morning and ab work. Salsa lesson @ 11am and then some posing practice. Man I have been home all day and its been a while that I have done that. The house is nice and clean as I had spring cleaning fever and hit it.

Ah you have Cubana legs. Spanish heritage seems to carry great genetics for lower body muscularity. Same thing happened with mine when I first started training. I had lean thighs bigger than my waist in a year.


Hey I noticed you have a lot of unusual exercise choices. Arnold presses, reverse grip bench, etc. How did you come to use a program like that?

Nothing kills me more than seeing someone in the girl -- guy or girl, big or small -- who train religiously all the time and never seem to change by losing weight or putting on more mass. There is a couple at my near-home-gym who lift heavy day in and out too and both are very heavy. I never see them do cardio but they are serious lifters... makes me wonder what they are training for, but after seeing no body-shaping going on and not enough weight pushed to do a PL meet... I just feel bad now.

One time I went up to them to tell them how cool I think it is that they train together b/c it's fun to watch... man, they weren't very friendly to me at all :( Oh well... that's what I get for trying to be nice.

But after 6 months, I had a weekday off from work, showed up in my gym, and saw them again -- though I am significantly stronger and tinier... I felt bad that they haven't changed at all in this time. :( Dammit -- aren't you tempted to try and help that woman out?! I know I have to keep my mouth shut alllll the time!

I wish I could meet you at the Arnold! I'm jealous! :frantic: We're not going this year; couldn't find a place to stay, it was all booked up MONTHS ago.

Man I am hungry quite often and am eating alot - I don't get that a bit,???
:) When my appy its through the roof, I attribute that to the added muscle and my body wants me to feed it. So I Do .:) If you are getting enough healthy fats in your diet and not overeating carbs (which im sure you re not), I would think it's either mental or physical craving, presumably the latter. :)

I cant find the thread where you posted it, but hearing positive feedback from people at your gym is awesome. I am so glad that you get to experience that.

YOU already know you've accomplished.... a feat many cannot do, and to see that other people take notice and you motivate them... it's a great feeling. So happy you get to expereience that.

Thanks everyone.. Anya, yeah my exercises are a little different that the norm, but that is what I learned from my workout partner. He is always teaching me something new. I also learn alot from the big guys on some of the boards. They post up a vid of something and I just try it.. Like with the rack chins.. THE Bomb. Hitting those again this week.

I am doing BBing.. I will be in the heavy class (as if). I feel scrawny, these days when I am in a relaxed mode, but when I hit my poses and I look at the pics, well I feel much bigger.

This is the only pic where you can see a bit more of me. I need to have someone take some of me full shots of me relaxed and posing. I think I am pretty symmetrical, but my back and chest are my weaker points. My arms, shoulders and legs are the ones that bring it all together, so I have to work with what I got and then consider putting on some size over the summer. Yes the six pack may be gone, lol. This picture was taken a few days after xmas. I went on a sugar and eating binge. I ate pretty bad for a few days. The water retention is evident in the midsection.

I will get some new pics soon. Maybe I will have triv take them of me next weekend.. that should be fun!

lol @ the fatburner comments.. I can't get used to them... they make me jittery and oh well I rather just eat to defeat the fat. Eating clean and being consistent with it has really help me shed alot of fat :p

And the Abs, what abs? I can't wait to put mass on my back and a tad on my chest. I can deal with NO abs for the summer, lol. Can't wait to pack on the cals and get huge!

Yes and SASSY has been with me every step of the way, she checks in on me and my rants and has given me great advice on my posing pics.. She's been super... along with others!

Hey girl... hmmm inches, not sure. I never measured that. Neither did my coach. He just checks my fat and weight. Back on 9/17 my stats were as follows:

bodyweight: 138.5
BF 11.48
lbs of fat 15.9
lean body mass: 122.6

currently:
bodyweight: 130.5
BF: 7.95 or probably less.. I lost a bit on different areas that he is now checking because all other areas are too lean for him to check, so now he dug into my dams hip/ham/glute area.
Lbs of fat: 10.5 not too bad I guess. Its all in my ham area :D
Lean body mss: 122.3

Going back on the 6th for re-check :woot:

NO training action in the last 3 days, but I feel GREAT!

I did my 30 minutes cardio this morning along with some Ab work. Chest tonight and 15 more minutes of cardio.

Going in to see my coach this week for weight and bf check.

6 weeks coming this saturday. Man the time is just flying by!

bunny talk... I love it, such a darling.

He does 9 points, but the last 2 sessions he did some other areas as most of the areas he has done in the past are pretty lean and the #s haven't moved. The last 2 times he wrote is as his computer was down, but he checks them and rechecks them. He is very thorough and somewhat of a perfectionist.

I will check the other areas with him to see what they are when I go see him on Thursday. ham glute tie, grrrrr my worst spot. I do some lift lunges and then partial lunges on the smith of walk them contracting that area. I also do stepups for this. My posing coach recommended these.

I had a kick ass chest workout. John is such a doll.. you know that man has so much heart and he truly loves me like a daughter. He says to me that he had a thing for italian women until this crazy cuban woman came into his life. I know that I make him feel good... I am very warm and fuzzy around him, I know it makes him young and alive, lol. A little ego stroking never killed anyone (he is really handsome for a 59 year old too).

He totally brutalized my chest tonight and biceps and all he says throughout every other rep is "f*cking HUGE" bwahahahaha. He is my alter ego for sure!


Flat bench smith:
50x12x3 scraping the chin, lol. upper chest rocked on

supersetted with db flyes laying upright on the tbar unit (I know, all the incline benches were taken)

You know I was thinking about your post this morning. I have my days... Last night at the gym, doing biceps, some exercises and the mirror make me feel scrawny lol, but then some don't. I also noticed it this morning in the mirror once again, but after my cardio session and my stomach looked so flat. The mirror has so much to tell us and sets off some emotions.

But for the most part, its always proves that the end result is up to the one looking back :weightlifter:

Sometimes it's tricky to critique your own body. We tend to see specific bodyparts, and not the whole package. Not necessarily a bad thing, but we still need another set of eyes to take a look. HONEST eyes and not just someone trying to make us feel good, which won't help one damn bit when you're up on that stage with the lights shinig down! LOL!

Funny thing is I have been training alone here and there. Its more for me and to keep it short and sweet at this point. I will try to get my leg workouts in with John because he just brutalizes the hell out of me, but well it depends on what he is doing and whatnot. We did chest together the other night, but now we are off track, lol. I am doing shoulders and bis tonight and then legs on Saturday. I also have been helping some people at the gym with their lifts or giving them advice on certain things. I hate to see people struggling with weight for the sake of #s. Proper form and execution of the exercise is going to get blood flowing thru those targeted muscles like you wouldn’t believe. There are these 2 girls at my gym… and I told one of them about the site so she may stop by. Every now and then when I see them doing something, I walk over and try to give them a little guidance that really worked for me. I am not an expert.. John still has to put me in check every now and then, but any help you can provide someone makes you feel good!

Yeah crunch time is right.. 6 weeks this Saturday. I think I need to start taking pics, lol.. ya think?

No really, its got me all worried. I know my daughter is very smart, she has a excellent vocabulary and knows how to read well, but I think she is just very shy at times and doesn’t speak up to ask for help so she may struggle on certain things. She is the youngest in her class and may also feel left out at times as there are little cliques you know YEP EVEN AT THAT AGE. She is NOT a girly girl.. she likes sports and to play with boys.. if she only knew how good boys will be in future, lol.. but she is into the computer and is very good at it. She gets that quiet shyness from her DAD and I just talked to him and HE IS FIRED UP. CUBAN hot blood.. don’t talk about his kids. There will be blood, bwahahaha.. :deadhorse:

Ok, my little daily rant. I will be going to the school for lunch mom duty.. yep with my sneaks, so I can play dodgeball with those little monstas. I love to play with kids…

Geez, the week flew by, but I am just so happy that the weekend is here. I have soooo many chores to do tonight after I get done with my cardio session. Thanks everyone for the happy weekend wishes... We had a chill day yesterday after we got back from the mall and walmart, lol. Everytime I go to walmart for 1-2 things I walk out of there $100 bucks later. I got my daughter some really nice sneakers at kids foot locker , she needed them so bad, so we got a few pairs. I always spend all my money on her... She needs to get a JOB. I also got her some cute tops and shorts for the summer, is it here yet?

Just messing she can have it all. You know its nice to save some money when you aren't eating out so much. Before I started my diet I would take her to Perkins atleast 2xs a week or for ice cream of even starbucks.. we both love their marble loaf

You aint kidding. I need to refrain from all stores, target, walmart, victoria's secret (I buy new underwear and it can sit in my drawer for months before I get to use it),... bath and body works (I love their lavendar scents and their breathe romance line, so refreshing and soft). MARSHALLS, HOME GOODS AND Pier 1 are my favorite home stores.. BTW, I need some new furniture, lol..

I need to steer clear of the malls and shopping till atleast JUNE. I got plenty of clothes for now and will only need some new shorts for summer and maybe new sandals. I swear even my shoes are big on me, lol. Oh and yes as Bunny mentioned I need a new bikini.

Last night at the gym a few funny characters, were like I wouldn't mess with you.. Yes you can have the bench I will go workout somewhere else, lol.. There was a NEWB at the gym. WOW, talk about hottie. Anyhow John wanted me to do so cable flyes and use the newer unit, so we walked over and he was doing some sort of stretching on it., so we asked if I could work in. He wanted to leave and go use something else too.. I was like NO, I can work in with you... I don't own the dam place, I felt bad cause although he was screaming hot, you can tell he was SO SHY. He told me that I make him look bad, bwahahaha. So anyhow we got to chatting and got his name. I saw him walking around like a lost puppy and it was so dam crowded last night that he didn't know where to stick himself....

BUT he made it a point to say GOOD-bye when he walked by the cardio deck on his way out.

I hope to see him again :-) and will truly offer my services to show him around. He seemed like a nice guy too... but with my luck he is married.

Off to see my coach in about 40 minutes. Can't wait and we are gonna have a little pow wow on my food intake. I am starving :dinner::dinner::dinner::dinner:

ughhhhhhh I just finished getting some work done that had to be finalized this morning, so to avoid not getting my cardio in this AM, I bought the files and my computer home to get it done! DEADLINES suck... :gives: lmao.

So I am tired, soooooooooooooooo tired I have been up since 4am. We went to bed late last night reading books and just chatting me and little mamasita. She is so funny, I love that little girl so much and she is so sweet...

oh well.... these are the only ones that came out decent.. sorry for the blurry ones. I really like the most muscular and the back shot. I put it on myspace and one of my friends on there that is a pro bber here in jersey said it looks on key. He is like "I can see striations"... I am like where? lol

TWEAK, look closely you can still see some fatty on my legs.... :mad: hehe!

My coach told me to take some ripped fuel to help boost my energy.. I hope the caffeine in it doesn't make me nuts, I do a good job of that all on my own!

ughhhhhhh I just finished getting some work done that had to be finalized this morning, so to avoid not getting my cardio in this AM, I bought the files and my computer home to get it done! DEADLINES suck... :gives: lmao.

So I am tired, soooooooooooooooo tired I have been up since 4am. We went to bed late last night reading books and just chatting me and little mamasita. She is so funny, I love that little girl so much and she is so sweet...

must admit that if figure was the same here as there..would look at doing BB myself ..at least you get a chance to really show off the hard work with standard poses and a routine :wiggle: over here we luckily have to do all poses with exception of lat spreads and most muscular..and still have to do a routine as well. So treated more like just another level of BB :grin:

Side tri - I look for a straight line myself - so your staight arm is vertical and not pulled at an angle, stomach sucked in, chest out. Also when you are displaying , be sure to show the whole stage - the whole line of judges. You can roll your shoulder some in the display.

Rear dbl bi, I'd just look at bringign your elbows up a little more - just a tiny bit more - and see how it looks. How do you like goign up on your toes vs a leg back? I think I see that more on the lat spread - in fact its a very common call for front lat spread on toes at many NPC shows.

I remember this tip really helped me..focus on putting your weight on to that front foot rather than all the weight on the back foot.

I live for my thongs... lol. I love them seriously. I could never go back to regular panties and boyshorts well I use them around the house every now and then.

The routine, well I am gonna work off my mandatory poses and then throw some other poses in there, but not go crazy. I am trying to finalize it but need some help. I have someone who is gonna help me get it straight, so hopefully by next week I will have it down pact and then just keep practicing. Here is the song I am gonna use. Ok, so last night was a BOMB WORKOUT and I mean as in my daughter had mama drama so we had to leave the gym. Mind you John met me there just so he can break this back up and right upon my 3rd exercise I got called to come save the day. She was pretty sorry that she had a tiff about something silly and began to whine about nothing. I let it go but she knew I was not happy not because I didn't get to train, I can make up for it over the weekend, but because she knows better than to let little things bother her.

But its over now so I will hit it hard this weekend. I am doing this mornings cardio sunday instead. I have to go see my friend @ lunch. She got a boob job 2 days ago and I promised a visit with a tub of ice cream!

Met with my choreographer on Saturday. What a great guy. We set up a routine for my night show and gonna meet with him every Saturday till showtime. I need to practice this every day along with my mandatories. He is awesome and so nice to look at, lol. But he really is super cool and we hit it off from the get go. His friend came in and is gonna also work with me to show me some killer lunges next weekend to tighten up the hiney some more, lol. I love getting new advice.

Anyhow - so I am really excited about my routine.... Can't wait :elephant:

My daughter is 19, and I have been icorporating her into fitness.
So I have been jogging with Her daily, 3 minute runs, 3 minute recovery.
For Her IT IS a task, and sacrifice getting up early and all that comes with it.
For me? Less calories burned, less of what I usually do.
And She knows it, and felt bad about it.
She did not vocalize it, but I could tell,....her, "you go mom, I'll go at my own pace"
So at the end of one workout I said..." Listen, I may not be burning calories the way I like, But being with you and enjoying YOU is priceless"
If I could put into words, the shimmer I her eyes and the sound of her voice, when She said "Gracias, Ma"
I am sure everyone would understand that one lost workout means NOTHING.
And your daughter is your world.:cloud9:

Thanks... I do cardio 6xs a week in the am for 30 minutes and 5xs a week in the evening for 20. I do the large muscle groups alone and then do arms and shoulders together. It all depends on my schedule, but usually..

M- Chest
W- shoulders/arms
F- back
Sat- legs

But again depends on what is going on. I lift 4days/ cardio 6days... I try to keep it at the days above, but like last night I did shoulders and will do arms tonight. I can literally train 7 days a week, because I love it, but I need a day of rest and I never ever feel overtrained.. even with all the cardio I am putting out.

I haven't hit my abs since last week... I don't remember the day.. I know I listed it in here. I don't write things down as I should be because I forget stuff as it happened 10 minutes ago, lol.... I don't usually do more than 1-2 days of ab work anyhow. They are pretty set in stone now :banana:

Don't mind me... the mental breakdown is starting to get to me. Yesterday I was training and starting crying in the midst of my workout.. Just stood there and the tears just flowed. I am starting to seriously have doubt in myself, I guess it is part of the game!

:ahh: BTW all the cardio above is only because of contest prep, otherwise I would just do it about 3-4xs a week for 20 minutes!

Think about it like this, you are training nearly every day on low calories, and your body is not getting enough calories to truly heal/repair itself. That is in addition to the stress of lifes daily grind, and I'm guessing , poor quality sleep. I'm NOT suggesting you change anything, I'm only saying the tears are normal at this point in your contest prep. So give yourself a break WW, you are SUPPOSED to be losing your mind a little right now. ;) You love training, and that is a good thing, but your mind and body both are looking forward to a break.

I hear ya on the overtraining but I don't feel that way at all.. and my calories are still pretty up there. I mean they aren't like 3k or more as I would love them to be, but they are still pretty high and I haven't been feeling hunger. I do need a break though.. but I think its more of a I need to accomplish this to prove to myself that I am strong sorta deal... like I don't want to let myself down. My wo partner and I too have been on different schedules so I feel like I am just lacking that extra push, BUT never fail.... WW is here to see this through.. with sweat, tears.. blood even lol.. you name it. I aint giving up on myself. But I am taking a nice 2 week vacation in August and taking Friday for a ME day. Gonna go get a massage, nails, pedicure, tan... heck maybe my massage will come with a happy ending, BUT FOR ME that would be a triple scoop CHOCOLATE/CARAMEL SUNDAE :roses:

Bev is right - its one thing to make it thru the day-to-day requirements, but its often the duration of all of it that adds a less tangible stress to your day. You start to wonder if you are going to zero in on your show date correctly, you wonder how much longer your body can take it - although its usually your mind that gives out first - the human body is wonderfullly resiliant, but your mind is what is trying to reconcile the cost / benefit, both logical and subtely emotionally, spiritually as well physically. And sometimes more of an emotional exhaustion takes over and there's nothing really discreetly identifiable to do to fix it or to even pinpoint as the cause - its just the accumulation of all of it and the need for a reaction of some sort right now. Sometimes the only thing you can think of to do is, just let it out.

Its all good. Its a long haul to a show and you will go thru emotional & physical peaks & valleys all on the faith that that 3 minutes on stage will be worth it.

So it is what it is, don't deny it, don't feel bad about it, just let it be what it is. Your body tends to do what it needs to do whether it makes sense to you at the time - so just let it. You're stretching your resources to the extreme, so there's gotta be some "give" with the duration to support the ongoing stress of it all.

Its all good :) One thing about competition is that you really do learn a lot about yourself both in terms of blowing past previously identified limits as well as just stripping yourself down to the sheer basics and how you respond to them & manage them.

I know I will have day to day feelings of ups and downs, but I will take them as they come and hope that all this hard work that I put out for 3 minutes of showtime pays off in the end. The most important thing I have and will gain from all this is that I know how to survive living a healthy lifestyle and that I do have it in me to suceed!

those pullups will go up fast. yr nervous system loses that trained state fast but picks it back up fast too especially for pullups.
nice work WW, keep it up.
and 6 pullups is nothing to laugh at with perfect form. i doubt i could do a set of 10 anymore since i stopped. my bodyweight and proportions just made them painful and not worth the risk anymore so all i do is pulldowns and rows.

The routine is coming along... the night one BLEH, not so much. I have been trying to fix it because I just don't feel like what we set up is going into a smooth transition, so I have some other ideas and we will fix it tomorrow. Man 90 seconds is SUCH A LONG TIME, lol.

I feel great today, sorry to share, but the bloat finally moved out of me :overhead: I was feeling so fat the last two days, yes fat. When you feel like "shes a brickhouse" inside of your stomach, man it just makes you feel like dying. I felt so nauseous last night and like throwing up, but finally this morning I got rid of it. FEEL 110% better. I got my food ready for the day and heading out for cardio in about 20 minutes. Gotta wake up the cuban princess, lol. That little girl has my weekend planned out... she is so sweet huh...

Happy Sunday everyone. So.... I am wired this morning. I just cooked 6 pounds of chicken, 2 pounds of turkey, 2 bags of green beans, bell peppers for my green beans, and yams!

It literally took me 1 hour, I am speedy :super:

Yesterday was a great day. I met with Bry and we finalized my routine and changed it a bit. I feel so much better now. Been practicing it this morning too. I think it will be fine!

We went to a bowling party and Kaila and I made alot of new friends at my friend Vinnies house afterwards, lol. All they wanted was to see my Abs.. :naughty: the moms even wanted me to show the kids. Its funny... all they talked about was my show. I busted out my food and they were like DAM, so clean.. meanwhile, there were sloppy joes, pizza, ICE CREAM cake and wine and beer, lol. The ice cream cake was the most tempting... :naughty: but I was good!

Off to train legs and go visit @ my sisters place with the kids. I am gonna try to rest while I am out there.. they are all going to Outback for lunch and I am just gonna stay behind and take a NAP :naughty:

Yo yo yo 17 days now, SWEET. Where the flip are my suits? OMG, lol. Nah they should be here this week or early next. Also with my tan stuff. Can't wait. By then I should feel like this is all more fun than work. My legs are sososo sore. I trained them really hard on sunday and then with my cardio yesterday well I can't even hit cardio today. I took the day off to go see Coach and then to spend some time with my girly girl. I just found out this morning at the gym that some little girl in her class punched her yesterday.. WTF
:weightlifter::weightlifter::weightlifter: I am gonna have to go today and lay down the law. NOONE and I mean NOONE lays a finger on my kid. I may have to have words with her mother. All these little richie rich kids in this area think they can get away with murder. My friend Kim did lunch duty yesterday and saw it all go down. My daughter didn't mention it at all, but she threw up after lunch yesterday and I had to go get her. She was absolutely fine when I picked her up.. of course I got her a new webkin because I spoil the life out of her, but now knowing this well.. will have to take her for a marble loaf cake after school and the park. OMG... I can't believe it. I am livid, lol. Wait till her dad finds out, lol.. he is gonna tell her to punch kids back hehe...

ok, off to get dressed,.... I just pigged out and then outey kasoutey.. sp check for me please.

OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah. good luck talking to the mother of that kid. I was CONSTANTLY bullied and tortured by other kids when I was little. My mother would try to confront the bullies parents' and they'd all go "Nope, not my child. Abby must be lying."

It was frustrating for my mom. But I was the easiest target for bullies EVER. It took nothing to make me cry. I was a wuss. lol

lol... its gonna hit 65 here today. I will be showing up to school in my tank. I will do it nicely but firmly. Might care, she is going to public school next year. One of the moms there has a really nice 8th grader that takes care of K for me from time to time and she had the nerve to say that it pays to send kids to catholic school. WTF again???? Its like because you put out all this cash you got the best kids.. I don't think so. I know plenty of kids that went to the public system and have better manners and are better kids than the private school ones... Not that there is anything wrong with private schools.. its the attitude that some of the parents dish out that skeeves me..

oh well... watch out. cause here I come, lmao.

My visit with coach was AWESOME... he says I am tighter, lol. Right on track where I should be. Upd the cardio to 45 minutes till we meet again next Friday, then basically he said I should just coast the last week, rest, eat right, drop the water intake and practice posing routine, etc. He is happy that thru all this I have maintained good dense muscle and that the fat is dropping as planned. SOOOOOOOO here we go more cardio. He doesn't want me doing much cardio the last week... the water drop should help tighten everything else up. He gave me a motivational CD and told me to download it on my ipod and listen to it to Keep me focused. He is really funny, quite eccentric, but curses alot and he says that the evil that lurks, the saboteur will come knocking on my door like the UPS man to try to deliver a package of doubt and evil to me. He says that we do need that saboteur in our lives to help guide us and that it is a friend or foe... because when it comes to visit, it puts us to the test of willpower. He says that I should just respond: not right now, come back later, lol....

I know I haven't updated in here,, SORRY :p

went to see Coach on Friday.. He was super impressed, lol. I have never seen such a smile out of him, he is a bit serious at times. Anyhow, he is happy with what I have accomplished and just cut back a bit this week. Legs tonight then NO MORE, cardio ends tomorrow night ugh... I can't wait, no more lifting after Wednesday. I am gonna do shoulders tonight with hams/calves and some light quad action. I did legs on Friday because I was due for it but didn't go ballistic either. So they are nice and ready for a quick one tonight. Back tomorrow and arms on Wednesday. I changed a bit of my night routine. Just some turns and stuff, nothing major. I just wasn't feeling comfy with one of the moves and feeling like it was just too much tension on it. That will be about where the fun kicks in...

no more carbs after 3pm and going back to see him Wednesday for the water cut... he is happy with how tight I am now, so that shouldn't be too bad, so he says.

I picked up mostly everything I need for show day, minus the padlock. I went to 2 different place and they didn't have any. I am gonna run to staples at lunch. Should I get my pedicure and nails done before I start my tanning stuff. I have pink/whites on my hands so I would think they could wait till Thrusday? what do ya'll think?

I cooked a bunch of turkey and chicken yesterday and froze it so I have food ready for the morning of the show...

Dam I am tired lol.. but am very excited. :naughty:

CROFT to the rescue.. Morning gang. oh man 4 days. I am not doing my cardio this morning. I have been feeling nauseous and like throwing up all night. I hope its nothing major. Gonna try and swallow my eggs in a few minutes.

Its gonna hit 77 this Friday and 72 for show day, LOVELY. That should make me feel great. OK, off to shower, eat and get ready to head out. I am getting my pedicure done @ lunch time. Boy do I need it, :coolugh:

Went to see coach... tighter once again as oppose to Friday. I did my routine for him... he really liked it. Didn't think he would like the song, but he said it has good beat where I can hit my poses. Ok, so..... I was drinking 16oz of water 6xs a day and now he dropped one meal, only carbs @ my 9:30am meal and 6oz of water with each meal - that will add up to 30oz of water a day! Can you imagine how dry I am gonna be? my mouth atleast, hah!

I am taking Friday off and going back to see him. He wants to make sure I am not flat... I also took Monday off to sleep in and replenish. I am gonna take a few days off of training... try to eat clean as possible, but will definitely have a daily treat meal or dessert. I am not gonna go bonkers on greasy anything, maybe just pizza. The grease always gives me bad heartburn. So Monday I promised to take Kaila to the movies and out to lunch.

Hitting back tonight, practicing my routine and meeting my friend Chris to tan it up... Wish us luck on that

Thanks everyone.. I am so lucky to have such a great group here!

Update: went to see coach yesterday, I dropped 3.5 pounds since tuesday's visit. Down to 126.5, Sweet. I had a great and busy day yesterday and hit the sack later than the usual 9pm, oh well.

I got everything ready. Picked up all my makeup, got my cake ordered since the kids want a big old celebration tonight for me. Its all so exciting!

My coach wants me carbing up this morning, but keeping water intake the same very low, lol :bash:

I am a little tired, but will feel better after I start getting ready.

I will update Ashley 2212 by text and she promised to keep you all afloat :weightlifter:

I used Jan tana last time and wasn't dark enough. I could do more layers but the hubby will be away till the friday night before show..so now time to do extra layers :frantic: so something you put on ON the day that is quite dark and instant sounds like a good alternative :wiggle:

I was super careful not to get it on the suit and it wasn't that bad. I really like the color it gave me so would use it again for sure.

dropped to 90 and did 20 1/2 reps

hack press:
toes ducked/straight 10 reps each, keeping it low
press alone 20x1

leg extensions - drop sets:

30x10x1 3 sets of these

front squats with lunges:
bb 40x10x3
lunges, 10 each side x 3 sets

starting my lying leg curls and did only one set:

my daughter got hit with something on the head at the gym's daycare and omg was screaming, lol... poor baby, I went to get her and we left, it was a early night.

chest/bis/cardio tonight. I have some shopping to do also for 2 gifts for a party and something to wear, ughhhhhh I hate going to the mall somedays

About your shoulder workout laterals on incline bench...How much of an incline?
I usually do them seated on short chair...

Thanks Flo, ice cream and comic book later, she forgot about the drama!

Its up one notch more than you would set it for your pressing. I don't actually sit in the seat, but prop myself up on the pad where you would rest your back. I go high enough so I can see in the mirror - for my own benefit, I often put my feet on the seat. :tongue3:

lol @ pics.. I didn't buy anything to wear, I will dig thru my summer clothes, bleh. Its not a majorly dressy bash, so my ex bil said jeans are good, with my wedges and a cute top. I did buy K something cute to wear and a cute gift for my little niece. With what I spent on gas yesterday I was like F that, I will wear something I have. I actually have a cute dress but dam have to go in the attic again, bleh.

I will take pics at the party with the fam.. so you guys can see how we all look so much alike. Thanks on the babygirl. She is the bestest ever.. i love the way she smells in the morning when i go wake her up.. in a way why do they grow up so fast, I miss the 3 year old stage, she was such a darling didn't mind that I would dress her in little cute outfits skirts and stuff, now she is like NO WAY mommy I am not wearing that, bwahahahaha..

My comp suit might be a bit on the tighter side. Weighing 133.4.

So no training today, whoot. I need the day off. I did back last night and it felt good. Its pretty tight today. I won't go into my lifts, but did some pulldowns, rows, one arm standing rows, straight bar stretching and some deads.

I also did 30 minutes on the treadmill while I chatted with a friend. Shoulders and tris tomorrow.

My daughter was suppose to have a play date tonight, but they canned on us so we are gonna go shopping for one last gift and she wants to go out to dinner, OMG this kid loves to go out to eat. I think she quickly forgot to say "mommy you can't eat that... its not your diet foods"... what the heck? what happened to my support system, lol

Your squat press has me intrigued. What is that exercise? All I can find on the 'Net are people messing about with small DBs doing a squat and then pressing the DBs overhead as they rise. Are you doing a squat and press with 270 lbs?

BTW WE got all this new hammerstrength equipment at the gym. Some nice, some so-so. The pec machine stinks IMO, too much tension on left not even on both sides. ugh..

30 minutes of cardio... threw some hiit in there and tore it up. I did some sprints too on 25 level @ 7.0 for about 30 seconds.

I was huffy by the time I was done and my back still feels it

I took yesterday off and had my last cheat meal for the week. Cleaned up the diet really good today - LEGS tonight!
