Someone recommended that book to me so I just ordered it. Anyone familiar with this? As many people know, I've long struggled with my hamstrings in the realm of competition and I'm extremely fed up with it. A few people I know recommended I purchase this book as my fix.

Just wondering what to expect.

Thank ya!

BMJ is a Lyle McDonald-aholic... he has some great articles on his website, seems to really know his stuff.

I've never used this diet plan, but know many who have and liked it. I think KILLER has the book.

I have few of the other books, but if you go to his website (either the "mean" forum or the "nice" forum) he has specific forums for each one of his books where people ask questions and share their experiences.

Nice: http://forums.lylemcdonald.com/
Mean: http://monkeyisland.lylemcdonald.com/

As a note, the two sites above really play-out their image truly. The "nice" forum everybody is, well, nice......and a heads up, the "mean" forum, is not meant for those who get offended easily....I love it though because it is brutal and to the point. A lot of the bashing is dry humor....well, some true dislike too...lol.

I have:

Applied Nutrition for Mixed Sports
The Protein Book (damn, forgot I had this one...doh!)
The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook

I want to get the "Guide to flexible dieting" though, I think this might be the one KILLER has now that I think about it.

Lyle has a January special where you get 10% off when you buy his books by entering: "NEWYEARS"

If you buy 2 books, he takes of another $10.00

tweak im pretty sure the stubburn fat one is for people who are actually fat... which you are not.

you should be more interested in his Ultimate Diet 2.0

i personally don't like keto diets after trying them for a few years, i prefer a hybrid of CKD where you don't actually hit keto, but utilise carbs around workout times. Alot like carb cycling i guess... if your body needs some, then eat some, but if it doesn't then stick to limited carbs (but not zero).

i think it places alot of stress on other systems in the body doing full keto.

Oh seriously? Is it just a keto diet? That will piss me off. lol

I respond well to keto diets but Lord, they make me miserable and moody. Just the perfect combination to make my boyfriend want to shove me out of a window, and I'm only keto on Peak week!

the stubborn fat is more likely a diet for the last big of stubborn fat... i haven't read it yet but from what i recall, it's not for fat people...

generally lyle prefers CKDs and not full blown keto diets from what i've read. in most CKDs (including lyle mcds) you don't really reach ketosis. at least this is the basis for the UD2.0.

I've done UD 2.0 and it's just a low carb (20%) and huge calorie deficits 4 days per week with maintenence eating 1 day and carb fest for about 36 hours. It's a well thought out diet and the book is an easay read with lots of good info. Lyles a bit of a kook but he's a visionary in some of his theories. Not a tremendously difficult diet to follow and I got about the same results as I've gotten on pretty much any carb restrictive diet I've tried in the past. Still waiting for the diet that will get me to 6% eating nothing but red meat, potatoes and frosted flakes.

No, that isn't what it is about. It's a book mainly geared towards lean people that want to lose the last bit of fat
in the stubborn places (abs, lower back for men) (i.e. normally rich in A2 adrenoreceptors)

i think, honestly, tweak you already know your body, just keep doing what you are doing, only make very small changes. esp since your not in off season trying to experiment to "see what works best".

Yo BMJ, that is the one I have, The Stubborn Fat Solution.

Adams is correct, it is for lean people who want to get leaner.

If anything Tweakers, it may give you some things to thing about.

Tweak, i'd recommend buying it, but not using it for your current contest. I'd go with what you know right now, instead of trying to experiment with something. After the contest, try implementing the book/plan to see how you respond. This way you are not learning it and experimenting as you go, but instead will have researched it enough to know how to implement it and learn it for the next time. I'd recommend extending your prep to continue after you contest for a month or two, then experimenting at that point.

He sets it up to where the type of exercise he recommends complements the diet...and vise-versa. In other words, training and diet have to come together. It may bnot work as well if you only do the diet and not implement the training plan that comes with it.

Noth J Adams and Killer are correct though, it is used for the last bit of stubborn bodyfat.

I REALLY enjoyed his PMSF book and the UD 2.0... I think he has a LOT of great things to say, I enjoy his writing style and I like the build up and background he positions each particular method/book with.

stubburn fat leaves last, its nothing new...

it just takes time!!! Truely, believe in yourself, keep stress to a minimum, eat whole foods to minimise supplements (but take if needed) and always make extra time for sleep.

You'll do great :D

**UPDATE**

I got this book in the mail on Monday and I've already read it twice. Fascinating stuff, I never knew so much about fat and how it works til now.

In truth, I walked away with a ton of information and a few different workout ideas-- in terms of supplementation, I've been right on the money as-is with the use of Yohimburn and Thermorexin. I've been notoriously inconsistent with both, however, which I plan on changing this time around since I had no idea how crucial yohimbe is for assisting in blowflow to stubborn fat areas.

I recommend it to anyone who has struggled with the same issue as me in the past. It's meant for men who are at 10% bf and want to get leaner and women who are in the 15-17% bf range at the start of a contest prep. That's right in my range so I'm off to the races with the new information. I will keep you guys updated.
