Just wanted to update you all... I'll give a full detailed account later on but I just won!!! woohoooo! I weighed in at 124 and took the MW title and overall womens title!!! Yessssss! I'm so excited. Had a great time, everyone was awesome there and helped w/ everything seeing as it was my first show. What a cool experience.

I had a few doughnuts tonight lol, so I'm back on my diet in the am, boiled chicken, etc and training for a national qualifier in 2 weeks. Can't wait! I'll keep you all posted!

Cya!!

Thanks you guys! I had such a great time and learned soooo much. I'll do a lot of things different for the next show though. Everything you said, Gopro, worked but I didnt take it to the level high enough bc I was a chicken shit lol, and was worried still about a carb spillover. Well... needless to say I definitely shouldnt have because it was such a huge difference in my body between prejudging and the night show.

I had only eaten a tiny amount of carbs before prejudging and that was hours before. Then right before I went up on stage another trainer said I really needed to eat something and he is really into the "fat load theory" which personally I dont know how much I really believe that it works but it didn't work for me in prejudging. I needed just plain old carbs. Thats it.

After prejudging I went out and ate steak, ceasar salad and maashed potatoes w/ bacon pieces in it and holy crap. The potatoes filled me out sooooo much. I was sooooooooooo VASCULAR it was scary. The veins in my abs ROCKED. They were the best veins I have ever seen lol. So at the night show I ate 2 more protein bars bc the other trainer said, which at this point it didnt really matter anyways bc it was too late for it to really have any major effect.

After the night show I ate the 3 doughnuts and the next day omg, I was sooo full and even MORE vascular. So the carb spillover STILL wasnt a problem even after that. So my intake of carbs should have really been a ton higher before prejudging bc I wouldnt have overdone it. Which I know now and can do it for the next show in 2 weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to find the happy medium of where I need to be. But I'll be eating pancakes before prejudging (at least a small serving of them) w/ some chicken or something. Then lunch eat clean, maybe steak, salad, and potato, but really depending on how I look and if I need more carbs or whatever. Basically judge it as I go.

But definitely my main problem was LACK of carbs for prejudging because I was too chicken to eat enough of them. Water retention wasn't too bad either, I lost maybe 1 lb overnight and that was it bc I had been pretty dry for the last few days. Had no cramping due to lack of potassium from the HCTZ (I took extra potassium the night before) but was very very tired and depleted feeling during prejudging.

Also... gopro, check your email!

I say it time and time again........EAT before pre-judge!!!The carbs will only do you good.9 out of 10 people say they looked better the DAY AFTER a show!Why........tons of carbs!!!!AJ,you just proved my point again...but you still looked amazing.Next show you will take it to another level, with much more fullness and vascularity.More congrats!!!!

Congrats AJ. And I disagree with ya gopro....I think 10 out of 10 people say they look better the day after the show. Except me of course. I know better now and do my pigging out before the show /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif (burp) /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
