So I took a break from logging and really from lifting heavy. I decided I was too big…wanted to diet down and honestly going from never seeing an Atlas stone to qualifying for Nationals in 10 months I was burned out. I ate too little....... partied too much and trained bi’s for the first time in years. I am now 1 year into strongman and 16 months back in the gym.

I am back now…..the fire is burning hot and I feel great.

I weigh 276(down from 312) Without doing a bit of cardio my conditioning is better at 276 than 312 doing everything under the sun.

My next challenge is the powerlifting meet at Europa on 7-24. That’s my main focus for the time being. After that I may do a SM show in August, will do one in Sept and then nationals in November. I intend to compete at 265.

6-12 First event day in 2 months

My goal here was not to set the world on fire and as it turns out I was barely able to light a candle

Thomas Inch DB push press 172lbs
12 tries 1 press

Car deadlift Still can't get comfy with this event. We used a small sedan.
After many attempts I got one rep then followed up with a double.

275x2
300x2
330x1

as of 6-12 my max stone is 330 which is piss poor because I just missed 405 last time I trained stones heavy. Its worth noting that this 330 is 22" which makes the typical 20" 330 look like a softball. Stones will come back to me. I will load a 400 in 2010!

600x2 fully reset each rep I usually touch and go.

I wanted 600 for a triple I got the third to my knees and started to hitch it...but decided to scrap that idea..... it seemed silly to risk injury this early in a heavy training cycle. For those wondering I do a bunch of singles with 405 to get warm and dial in my form.

405x3 Its a one rep PR at this weight.

This was my third bench session of 2010. It makes sense I did not lose much while being a gay poser because I never trained it to begin with. I am excited to see what consistent training will do here.

So much for this log. Tore my pec Sunday on a 455 raw bench. Kicking myself in the ass right now. MRI is Friday, I'll know how bad and if i need sugery then.

Thanks Ulter I may do a rehab log. The hardest part is I feel like I am on the disabled list of life. I need to log,train what I can, and keep some diet together. Otherwise is fat guy time again.

Amen brother. I figure it won't be long a all until I can squat and not long after that for deads. In the mean time the plan is to drop another 20. I need goals!

Do you have access to a safety squat bar or a cambered bar? If so you'll be fine. If not I would consider buying one.

No I said "of life" like I am on the injured reserve list for a football team of something. I do have access to an SSB. :)

ahh...gotcha...

I'm in the same boat as you right now and can't squat with a straight bar or pull but the SSB and cambered bar are allowing me to train my squat an pull hard. You'll be fine since that's over 2/3s of your total anyway. lol
