Does anyone know the scoop on the musclemania competition. Looking at those pics I find it harder and harder to believe these guys are training naturaly. In no way do I want to discredit these guys hard work even with juice they look to be extremely dedicated. I reviewed the entry application and the only Natural guideline is that they test for certain substances. It seems that you are playing by the rules as long as you pass the test. There does not seem to be any rules stating natural for one year or anything else. Does anyone know of anyone that competes in these musclemania contests. Thanks for the information and please do not pass these guys off as "juiced" just because they are big. I am looking for more of an insight on how these competitions are run. thanks

Welcome godfather...Well,I have actually competed in Musclemania on 2 occassions,1995 and 1998.I placed 5th in the heavywt novice in 95 and did not place in the open heavies in 98.The contests are extremely well run and very exciting to be a part of.You kind of feel like a star while you are there.I looked at the galleries on their site and I must say that many of the guys look like quality natural bodybuilders,with a few exceptions.When I competed in it,however,75% of the guys DID NOT look natural I'm sorry to say.When I was backstage I saw quite a few GH guts and many with gynocemnastia.Most of the top guys were so big,full,vascular,and shredded I just could not believe they could be natural.Some of these guys even went on to compete successfully in non drug tested shows like the NPC USA.In 95 they did random urine testing,and in 98 they urine tested everyone,but I don't know what was done with the samples.Supposedly nobody failed,which is hard to believe.My opinion is that Musclemania has become a very big show and that alot of the guys there are not natural or if they are,it is only temporary(just to pass the test).I also don't believe that the promoters of the show truly care if the guys are natural or not.They are in it to make money,not to promote the sport of "natural" bodybuilding.I respect all the guys that compete...and I give eveyone the benefit of the doubt,but I'm sorry to say that I,ve been there and I just don't think musclemania is natural for the most part.

Hey Lex..I applaud your confidence!!!I just hope for one thing....that you are TRULY natural,meaning that you use ONLY OTC supplements.If this is so,than I wish you the very best of luck!!!As for me,I am done competing for this year...looking foward to 2002!
