Plantar Fibroma

Pretty sure this is what I have through a little research. It's really starting to affect cardio to the point where I'm walking on the outside of my foot which I think is called over-pronation. Hell just now when I put my shoes on, I can barely walk normally. It seems that excising it has limited benefits as the chance of it reoccurring is high. Has anyone experienced this or any tips to relieve the pain?

If you really suspect tumors I would recommend you see a doctor for proper diagnosis. Treatment for benign tumors in the feet is orthotic inserts in your shoes. Surgery isn't usually successful without removal of the fascia, which could then become a new problem that would last pretty much for the remainder of your days.

Honestly, I would suspect plantar fascitis or turf toe (depending on the location of the pain) before ever guessing fibromas.

Yea I keep meaning to make the appt for the podiatrist so I guess I will on Monday.

I don't think it's fascitis because it's not heel pain but more of a lump than can be seen and palpated. It's also much closer to the ball of my foot rather than the heel.

I was kinda hoping there were ways to stretch it out but I'm thinking it's basically scar tissue building upon itself so my stretching may actually be making it worse.

So I had the fibroma cut out on Wednesday. It was pretty small compared to others she's seen but I'm thinking most of the people who have these also don't have such an active life as I do considering I'm at the gym plus work 8 hours a day as an X-ray tech. She did say it was larger than she originally thought as it was more flat and ran along the ligament a bit. I was worried about the it reoccurring but it's around 8-10 years so hell it was worth it if I can get back to doing cardio normally.

Worked yesterday but I was glad it was slow as my ass hobbled around like a gimp so I'm took today off so that I could rest it and actually have someone there who would be of use in case it was busy.
