hello one and all :wavey:

Well it's 'that' time of the year again :wiggle: and since I have recently decided to revert back to Anafit products since they work better than most and Ulter always looks after me  I thought I had better get my :booty: in gear and start a new log  My shipment of products has passed customs..just waiting for it to arrive at my doorstep...soon I hope :praying: When they arrive I will outline which products I am using. I am basicly doing a 3 days carb cycle to keep the body guessing. The 7th day I do my day 1 (low carb) but have a free meal in the evening (at this stage) I have actually been cutting for 4 weeks. I started at 23.4% bf ..but saw Mike yesterday (comp promotor and also running my prep) and it has dropped to 19%bf :woot: so happy with that  So at 18 weeks out..in a MUCH better position than prior comps so am taking a 'no excused no regrets' approach to this prep ...I AM getting in the condition I need and that is IT!! end of discussion..I will except nothing less this time around :frantic:

Ok so training. At this stage we are keeping cardio low..letting diet do most of the work. I do 30 min peddle my ass off on the bike training (yes Tweak..he has chucked me on the HIIT train ) it's not standard HIIT where there is set high/low timing. I just warm up..peddle till I can't peddle no more..take a break to get my breath..than back into it. It's winter here but still end up sweaty betty by the end of it :naughty: Weights..I am training Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri. I keep it full on but only 45 min..so hit it hard..and get out. Leg day I do 10-15min on treadmill just to get blood through legs but normally just stretch.

Diet.. 3 day cycle. I seem to have time now so will run through it.

Day 1 - 30min cardio
Meal 1 - 6 egg whites (can add tomato, onions, mushrooms, spinach..but normally too slack )
Meal 2 - 100g chicken, cup veg
Meal 3 - 100g tuna, salad (can have avocado at this stage)
Meal 4 - 100g chicken, cup veg
meal 5 - 100g white fish, salad or veg
meal 5 - 6 egg whites (again can add tomato if I want)

Day 2 - 30 min cardio
Meal 1 - 4 eggwhites, 1/3 cup oats
Meal 2 - 100g chicken, 100g sweet potato
Meal 3 - 100g tuna/salad
Meal 4 - 100g chicken, cup veg
Meal 5 - 100g fish, veg or salad
Meal 6 - 5 egg whites

Day 3 - 30min cardio (ok you get the point..:naughty:)
Meal 1 - 1/3 cup oats, 4 eggwhites, banana or pink grapefruit
Meal 2 - 100g chicken, 100g sweet potato, apple
Meal 3 - 100g tuna, salad, apple
Meal 4 - 100g chicken, 100g sweet potato, apple
meal 5 - 100g fish, salad or veg
meal 6 - 5 egg whites

and to really kick this off properly..starter photo's

Thanks girls  am looking forward to FINALLY getting where I need to be :wiggle: First prep I did was under Mike's guidance..and was 25.4% at 16 weeks out..and got to 11.4% one week out from comp. So currently I am 19% at 18 weeks out...hmmm well don't want to jinx it..but sounds a LOT better

ok well speaking of HIIT..or peddle my ass of fun as I call it  better get to it. Yes it's Saturday morning here folks ;)

Sunday I only did my 30min AM cardio..headed off to watch the WFF/NABBA show. I am all inspired now

Monday:

30min AM cardio

dropped boys at shool :woot:

gym - legs

45d leg press
Straightleg dead lifts
abductor machine
step-ups
hyper-extensions..(glute focus)

10 min stretch
10min bike

Note: at the moment I am not doing shoulders..or heavy upper body at all. Having a few drama's with my right shoulder :frantic: so trying to rest it :wiggle:

I FINALLY got my ANAFIT shipment today :woot: :hyper: :dj:

So will be using Cardio Breeze before the AM cardio, most excited about my Red Blast :woot: you have NO idea how much I missed this :dunno: guess you don't realise quite how good it is till you try something else!!! Also got some Glutamine Alpha Keto Glutarate (wow..that's mouthfull :naughty:) just to help protect my muscle..and keep my immune system nice and strong while cutting. I also still have some YES...but keeping that till I hit a sticking point ;)

Also got my husband some Thermorexin..and some Beta Alanine, which he loves. Sucks how he can take it with no tingles what so ever :dunno: even if I take the tinest amount..tingle city  I am SUCH a sensitive soul

Got my first flu out of the way :frantic: but at least I only felt like total crap for about 36hrs..feeling better today :wiggle: so it will be morning cardio (in about 15min..yes it's Thursday morning here folks ;) ) then off to the gym :woot:

Hi Sassy :wavey: yes lots and lots of fun :treadmill:  in a better position this time..19% with 18 weeks..very do able :wiggle: now if my shoulder would just settle the hell down :frantic: it would be easier. I am trying to rest it.....frustrating when I LOVE doing shoulders ect.

Had one of the boys home sick yesterday, so no gym, just AM cardio. Not stressed at this stage :dunno: as long as the AM cardio is done..and diet is on track, it's all good.

Well it's Monday morning..public holiday here... did 35min morning cardio. We are down one child today (at his Nona's) and the youngest (4yrs) thinks he is a teenager and is still sleeping :naughty: the hubby is having a sleep in so I am being good and killing time on the computer so I don't wake them up  but will shortly have to :dinner: then it will be off to the gym. Probably do legs AGAIN!!! since I am very limited on upper body with the shoulder :frantic: am doing legs about every 3-4th day. Am booked in to see physio Wednesday..so lets hope he can get this heading in the right direction :praying:

Hi Pete :wavey:

fish oil..should have written that it..but check  already doing that

veggies..I do have them with most..only on high carb day do I tend to just have the protien/carbs as it's quicker..but your right..should still keep the low carb veg in there to keep things burning..will get back onto that..thanks

LOVING my Red Blast :woot: getting some really good workouts in :wiggle:

At my new gym I have recruited two girls to compete in Novice for Oct  I just can't help myself..if I see someone with the right shape..I just ask if they have ever considered competing :dunno: I trained with one of them Monday since it was a public holiday. Miss that extra push of a training partner. We did bi's/tris/abs and MAN!!!! my arms and my ABS :surprised: can you say BLOODY SORE!!!! (say that in a Aussie accent of course ) I showed her my ab tri-set eg lying leg raise with hip lift, then crunches, then jack knives. 12 of each x 3 sets. I am SO feeling it today. You know when anything that involves your abs..even laughing or god forbid..sneezing :ahh: and OUCH..yep..hurts but a great feeling

Tuesday I just did my 30min morning cardio..low carb day

Wed.. 30min HIIT cardio

gym- legs

45D leg press
Lying leg curls
abductor machine (most lady like thing in the gym..NOT!!!)
step ups

Did 100s...well not all in ONE set ..hurt too much..but as many as possible then VERY short break..(not even off machine) then back into it. Kept the weights light but HR was pretty high all the way through being a large muscle group. Finished an hour ago and legs still a bit shaky

If your concerned about the carbs, you can use a powdered veggie supplement - Greens+

If your concerned about the carbs, you can use a powdered veggie supplement - Greens+

ok so your more mentioning them from the nutritional point of view? I will look at the greens +. Not really worried about carbs..as Mike did write the plan with veg in just about all meals..I am just slack  so I will try to get the veg in but will also look at the green + to have on hand for convenience

Oh and fish oil. What is your opinion on daily amount?

PeteM
06-09-2010, 09:22 AM
veggies are going to give you vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals. In addition they add alkali load to balance out acidity. The alternative is catabolizing muscle and bone tissue to maintain neutral pH.

Fish oil - 3g EPA/DHA daily - aprox 10g of fish oil. Either divided or all at once. Just try to keep sperate from any high fiber intake as fiber will bind fat, decreasing absorbtion.

I brought some today :wiggle: so will see how I go. FINALLY over that dam cold :woot: I was still doing my morning cardio but not at the intestity I needed to :wallbash: but back on track now so stepping it up with 2 x 40min session to get things moving again. I see Mike next week to find out where I am sitting 13 weeks out :praying: am hoping for a miracle. I feel like I have lost bf..but scales haven't moved much :dunno: but still feel I have lost some..but not as much as I would like. Will just have to see how it goes. If things aren't moving as fast as needed..may have to pump up the cardio to 2 x 60min sessions for awhile :dunno: see what happens.

Oh and tried a new training program last week..just for shits and giggles (wasn't laughing much the few days after legs day :naughty:) you do two exercises..eg legs we did SLDL and squats on smith machine with feet positioned further forward to hit glute/hammies? You do light x 40 reps..up weight a bit - 30 reps, up weight - 20, then up and 10, up and 5...then all the way back down again :ohnoes: it hurt a bit but did NOT expect the amount of soreness :surprised: We trained sunday..hammies didn't feel back to normal till Friday!!!!! OH MY GAWD!!!! gonna have to do THAT again  glutton for punishment..what can I say :dunno: :naughty:

see ya :wavey:

Hidngod
06-26-2010, 08:31 AM
I get a similar response. If I can't do my accessory exercises on any given day I'll add a set at the end with half the weight of my working set, 'til almost failure.
The next day I'm a lot more sore than if I had done two working sets.
It's the reps that kill ya, there.

Kinda feels good though, in a way.

Nothin' like a good glute/ham burn when that's the area you worry about the most-- I'm a glutton for punishment in the same way! It feels good when you can REALLY feel you're working what is historically your problem area.

Sounds killer, gonna have to try it! :D

I wouldn't worry about the scale too much. I'm not sure I was under 140 lbs for my last show. Plus you have 13 weeks, woman, PLENTY of time!!!!! :)

Hi Everyone :wavey: sorry for being MIA..but been flat out with prep/kids/bikini's..Australia doesn't have a lot of comps..and most of ours are Sept/Oct time..so been decorating about 7-8 suits a week!!! so very busy  my cousin has been bugging me to put some progress shots up..so today is a just a quick visit to post them to show how I am going. Still slow..have been to a Dr who has done tests..my estrogen is too high/progesterone low. Thryoid sluggish and adrenal gland pretty fatigued :frantic: of course all things that HELP drop fat!! NOT... so he has me on hormone replacement ect to bring things back into line. Probably too late to help much with this prep...but at least if we get it fixed, next year should be a LOT easier. He said it was the reason my weight goes up SO easy..and i have a hard time dropping it. Once we have everything sorted..he said the next prep will seem easy compared to what I am use to doing :wiggle:

ok well 5 weeks out..here ya go cuz

Spectacular, Crofty!:hi5:

RE: High estrogen/low progesterone...I've been treating the same thing for ~4 years now. The low progesterone contributes to the sluggish thyroid + adrenal fatigue. Once you have the hormones more closely balanced, you will feel 1000x better and have less frustration with re-comping. Keep us posted with how you do with the HRT.

well it's been 3.5 weeks so far..have already noticed a change in mood..which is for the good. Also noticing I am starting to drop weight at the back of my legs :woot: so hopefully the hit of progesterone we did has flushed out most of the extra estrogen..:praying: but so far so good :wiggle: The doctor did say that once we have this sorted I will find prep a LOT easier than the battle I have had each time so far. Well doesn't help me a lot for this comp but at least I know it's not because I don't work as hard/harder than the girls that get lean enough ;)

Wish my camera wasn't bust :frantic: could take pics to show you. I am a good 5lb lighter than last comp..so looking pretty good  not 100% to where I wanted to be..but pretty dam close. Since i now know what the issue was (hormones/thyroid ect) that was making it hard to drop weight..and I am now getting that sorted..can't see a reason that would stop me doing VERY well next year. Over here that is easier to say ...as I think there are 2 Masters 40+ in INBA and 3 in IFBB !!!! not a lot of people compete here..so at least I can promise I will place well this year

ok well it's tan time..will try to get someone to take some pics..and will post later ;)
