i havent been on the board in a few months due to this fucking condition i have. rheumatoid arthritis. i swear this condition makes me feel like i am 75 and i am only 26! docs gave me some bs painkillers that only help for maybe 2 hours at a time. the other meds made me pile on fat. sorry but i just needed to vent guys.

Brother I know how you feel read my rotator issue. This guy actually said my days of heavy benching were done. However I now know several have come back and who knows there is always a place for a first. In my case my age, 60, is the big issue.
I wonder what kind of docs you saw. Painkillers are not always the best. Check the internet for other treatments for RH.
I wish you the best and keep me posted how you are doing.

I feel for you man, arthritis sucks. Have you tried Nsaids and stuff instead of just painkillers? Also, even though I dont partake anymore...i know several people with this condition that use marijuana, and i guess as long as you munch on healthy food like raw veggies you wouldnt gain weight.

Are you on Predniscone (sp?)? If so, I can sympathize with you. Have been on it for two plus months, at a high of 60mgs, now tapering down (@ 20mg now). Getting off it is my number priority, outside of my health, obviously.
I know that they use Remicade as a treatment for your condition, as well as several others (Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis). It normally is a more advanced treatment for the conditions for which it is prescribed. However, I can speak from experience (not for R/Arthritis) that it works wonders if it works for you. The treatment isn't evasive. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, if you do pursue that route.

Get another opinion! Being 26, your concerns are appropriate. Also check out holististic alternatives, many are quite valid, and covered by insurance. Make sure that the docs understand that giving up your physical activities is not an option.

My boss has RA and does the Remicade treatments once a month. He is 50 y/o and does not take narcotic painkillers for his RA. Check out the chemotherapy style treatments. And holistic as Aeserian suggested. You are much too young to be suffering and taking oxy for a condition that is treatable otherwise.
+++++healing vibes being sent to you!

You are getting some activity in and keeping mobile. Try not to get down about this. If you stay positive and aggressive in seeking treatment for your RA, you will find a way to manage the condition and be able to train.
Kuddos for being off the narcos! :hi5:
