So, as is the "policy" around here, I'm starting a new log because I did a meet. Right now, I have absolutely nothing planned next though. We are getting into our season of hosting powerlifting meets. We have one the end of April, one in June, a small one for firefighters in July, another in July/August and then October/November. We are not hosting the one in June (Plano), the firefighter one (Lewisville), or the July/August (Houston area) meet, but at least, I will be helping out a lot. And, that's cool. I think the next meet I could possibly do is in September in Louisiana. I'll play it by ear for now though. I want to make sure G-Rex gets to do a few meets, and as always, I have some other things I'd like to take care of before I commit myself completely. Doesn't mean I won't do it, just means "we'll see". If I do that meet, I'll probably only bench again. I doubt I'll have time to get used to holding a straight bar and be able to do anything I'd be satisfied with. If I only bench, I'd like to hit 400+.
Other than that, I'd like to keep up with the recomping of the body. I see some changes. The scale hasn't really changed, but I'm seeing more definition coming through on my arms and calves for sure, and a little muscle peaking out in my quads. Lumpies are starting to disappear too. :jumpjoy: Frankly, I don't give a rat's ass what the scale actually reads if I feel comfortable in my skin. I don't right now exactly, but I'm happier for sure. I'm on the right track, so I want to keep it that way... I'm already down 15 pounds from meet day (but much of that was bloat... ugh).
The plan at this point is to stick with more higher rep stuff that will help with the recomping, but it'll also help me get stronger/keep my strength. Yes, I'll go heavy from time to time because otherwise I'll get really bored. I need to have some fun...
Katie is going to do the meet in June. Normally I'd just do the same training as her, but I don't think I'll do it 100%. I may stick with some of her weights and do more reps. We've also changed our training days some.
Monday is Bench day
Wednesday is Deadlift day
Friday is my free day to do as I please... bench, cardio, whatever
Saturday is Squat day.
We did this so that we didn't have to compete for equipment. We have our choice of whatever we want... bars, benches, monos, etc. We'll see how it works. Sometimes I wish my schedule was the same as G's, but then again, I like not having to worry about what others are doing when I pick my exercise.
So, that being said... let's begin...
