It feels like forever since I've actually had a log here. I am still alive, just incredibly busy with school and coaching. Things are finally winding down since I am on spring break and after this only one quarter left for the year :cheer:
Anyways, Tweak actually talked me into doing a show this spring (May 21st). That means I now have six weeks to kick it in to high gear and really see what I can accomplish. Luckily volleyball will be done this weekend for the year giving me a little more time for training. I'm nervous that I won't be able to get as lean as I should be for the show since this is all new territory for me. In fact I was talking with my husband and I can't remember the last time I was as lean as I am now (even with the wedding in 2008 I wasn't this lean). Tweak assures me that I am looking really good for as far out as I am, but I still have those little doubts in my mind. Regardless, I am really going to try and kick it into high gear this last six weeks and see what I can really do.
Workout #1
20 min on stairstepper L4-L8
30 min on Treadmill (3 min 6.2, 2 min 3.8 alt)
Sideplanks on both sides and stretch
Planning a second workout tonight and then my last volleyball practice for the season!!

Rach, you look amazing. You really do. You need to put your stats up here... I'm talking how many pounds you've lost since August, how many inches you've lost, etc.
You're really rockin' it... you gotta go with your guns a-blazin' and believe in you (GET EXCITED CUZ ITS EXCITING) for your first show. You know how good you look and I've never seen you this small. Your walking and posing gets better every time we work together.

Well, unfortunately I did not take any pictures when I first started playing with the idea of doing a figure show back in August. I did take measurements back then and here is where I was
Weight: 194.8 :eek3:
Waist: 33.5
Hip: 43
Thigh: 27.5
I hit it pretty hard for about two months, but then my anniversary and the holidays put me at a stall. I maintained then until January when I sat down with Tweak and decided to really pick up the training again. So now, as of this past weekend this is where I am currently sitting
Weight: 161.2
Waist: 27.5
Hip: 37.5
Thigh: 23.5
So I have made tons of progress. Tweak took a pic of me last week when we were working on posing. See is graciously letting me use one of her suits. I have a couple of pictures back from 2008 when I was cutting for my wedding. I would say that I was probably in pretty similar condition in August to where I started back then. So the first pic was my starting point in 2008, the second was my leanest right before the wedding and the last is the one Tweak just took last week. Not exactly the same shot, but gives you an idea.

That you are:evil[1]: JK. I was so sore after posing practice last week. I was finally feeling better on Tuesday, but I'm sure being hunched over and painting hasn't helped the back relax either..

PM Workout
30 min outside alternating between walking and running. Unfortunately I did more walking then running today because I kept getting a cramp in my side when I was running, but it is a start. It is crazy how much more running outside takes out of you than indoors.

That's okay, girl, it's good you went at all. I get the cramp in my side from time to time too, especially in the morning as I tend to be mildly dehydrated when I first wake up.

Btw, I think you'd be wise to stop the 45 degree raises. Those are extremely hard on your shoulders and I know your hubby showed you those, but he also has a crapload of injuries because of how he was and was not training. ;) front raise will be enough-- plus your anterior delts are pretty much good to go... your middle and posterior delts need to be your focus now. ;)

30 min on treadmill 3 min 5.8-6.2 and 2 min 3.8. Side was feeling better, but didn't want to push it too much. Hopefully this means I'll feel really good tomorrow, if not have an off day on Sunday since I'll be coaching volleyball all day anyways. (Last Tournament :cheer:)

I'm really surprised that side cramp has been keepin' on like that. Are you eating before training? Do you have the cramp when you're not training as well? What usually triggers it for me isn't dehydration but rather eating too much before my run (instead of just something small that digests quickly), or sometimes if I chug too much water when running (like 4-5 sips each break I take and walk instead of just 1-2) it can set it off as well.
You are kicking ass. And I am so proud of you, for real -- I couldn't do it.

I really don't know. I don't feel like I am eating a ton before working out. Take this morning, I had an apple and a little ANP and it was still bothering me. It doesn't hurt unless I am working at a faster pace it seems. Hopefully with a day off tomorrow it will help.

Honestly after 2-3 days, it just becomes routine. Tiredness sucks but BELIEVE ME, you don't wanna cut a single corner or be standing up there second-guessing if you could have done more or just had a few more weeks. It will be worth it! :hi5:

Thanks, I felt pretty good today despite being up at 4:30 for the last two mornings. I am planning on taking tomorrow morning off since I have been running late all night because of school meetings after school and the need to get to the grocery store for some food. Still planning on working out tomorrow night though.
Posing practice is a definite possibility. I need to clean the house and get some prep work done this weekend though for the jewelry party I'm having on Sunday afternoon. Let me know what you have available.:super:

Been a busy weekend. Had a jewelry party at my house today so the hubby and I were doing some heavy duty cleaning and organizing. It also threw off my training a lil:ohnoes:
Saturday's Workout
Did about 15 or 20 min of sprints w/ Tweakers infront of my house before having posing practice for about an hour. Getting a little easier, but still feel like I have a ways to go with it before I am really comfortable.

Yep...that was it for the weekend:surprised::runaway: Figure I need to hit up a few more 2 a days this week to help make up for it. Only 5 weeks left, received my registration confirmation in the mail on Friday. It will be different than what I am used to when watching Tweak. The competition is a Friday night and there is no pre-judging or anything in the morning, nothing until about 5pm. Gives me a good excuse to take a couple days off from school though:overhead:

You'll need the rest-- the last two weeks are more tiring than you know. You'll emotionally be like, I NEED TO F*CKING SIT DOWN FOR A LITTLE WHILE, OK? So all the rest on Thursday/Friday will be a good thing.
Vball is looking great-- she is extremely graceful in her pose transitions and is becoming better adjusted to being able to know what her body needs to do and how it's supposed to FEEL, without looking in the mirror too much. Very poised... I think you're gonna be fab! Just remember to be light on your feet in those heels! No T-Rex walkin'!
You're doing amazingly awesome, girly, and the work is paying off. Tighten that diet, get all your meals in, make sure you're having COMPLEX CARBS on your high carb days (not just fruit). :) Sweet potatoes, brown rice, brown rice cakes, oatmeal.

If you're DYING, take a morning off. Seriously girl, workouts are important but sleep and recovery are equally as important. It's one thing to feel a little fatigued but if you feel like you got hit by a bus, you need to take a morning off to catch up on sleep. You'll retain water and have higher cortisol levels if you're running on no sleep so catch up on it if you have to. :sleep:
The gym is gonna be a love/hate thing for you for the next few weeks. Just try to mix it up and have fun as much as you can. Don't forget to practice posing (especially trying to flair your lats) in front of the mirror. Try to hold the poses for 30-45 seconds a pop.
Pace will be pickin' up and diet will be getting chipped away in the next few weeks... mentally prepare yourself for no more peanut butter and no more protein shakes. It will be a shift but you can handle not having it for 2-3 weeks.

Btw Amanda and I talked and we both agreed the "fourth party" in our posing session was acting strange and very non-friendly. Not sure what the deal is but I'm just letting it go/writing her off/not talking to her much.
Only a few weeks left! Really, you have this week, next week, and only a few days of the week after to train. If you're taking a day off or are only gonna do a one-a-day, get it done this week/weekend. Next week and going into peak weak, no more days off. It's balls-to-the-wall burnout time so make sure you're good and rested before you start that process. You're going to do two-a-days consecutively for about 10 days. 20 workouts in 10 days is a lot. You should be taking about 3000 mg vitamin C these days to keep your immunity up. :)

I'm trying to gear up. Was planning on only working out once tomorrow since it is a zero carb day, but hit a snag in the training today. Yesterday I had some sort of allergic reaction to something and had a rash on my torso. Took some benedryl but it spread some today and was all over my arms and legs. Had to wear long sleeves at school cuz I didn't want my students to see it which was uncomfortable considering how warm it was. Was still going to try to make it to the gym tonight, but I was so tired and felt gross because of the rash that I didn't go. Hubby and I stopped by a clinic to see if I needed something with a higher dosage than benedryl. Doctor said because it doesn't itch just to stick with that. Frustrating because I feel gross and I had to miss a workout. Means it will be two tomorrow. Planning on heading to bed here soon to get more rest to see if that helps as well, but I have a stack of papers to be graded as well:deadhorse:

Hey all,
Had a lot of fun at my first show, didn't do as well as I would of liked, but it was a learning experience. I am still waiting for the official results and will share results and pics later. It was a very busy weekend, and now I am playing catch up at school as well since I took last Thursday and Friday off. Got back to the gym today for the first time since last Tuesday. Now just have to find my next goal to conquer:)

I haven't gotten the scores or feed back from the judges, but the results are posted. I took 6th out of 7 in my class.
Took the last week off from planned meals and just did some light workouts. It is weird to go back to not having a guide of what to eat when. Although, it was nice this past weekend for Memorial Day.
I have been talking to Tweak a little bit and I think I might try to do another show this summer when I have more time to train to really see what I can do, so I have my eye on a competition in August down in Oklahoma which puts me at about 10 weeks out now.
So with that it is time to close this log and start my new journey!!
