water is the most important nutrient and medium found in the human body. 90% of disease has been linked to inadequate water intake and/or chronic dehydration.

damn. we should all invest in an extra half-gallon of pure water daily. i get a lot of shit for carrying around my water all day and even bringing it to friends' houses and special events. but the mockery is 100% worth it. no one can argue with me that it's not a good habit. athletes such as ourselves need twice the amount of water that a non-exercising individual needs.

water becomes even more important to those of us that compete. all of your bodily functions become smoother in a fully hydrated environment. that includes drug interactions, lipolysis, ketosis, carb depletion, loading, creatine uptake, protein efficacy, and so many others, too abundant to name.

just about the only time you can drink too much water is immediately before a show, when you are actually going for a "look", and not an endogenous chemical process. this should be the ONLY exception!!!

water is your friend. drink up!

take care,
PA

as i was growing up, me and friends used to play sports and climb the trees in my backyard....we would always drink straight from the hose.

it's a good thing i grew up in a clean municipality, or i would have had cataracts from all the shit they put in some city's water supplies. point of this post is to make sure your water is clean also, as well as enough amount-wise. anything else but clean water, and you might be doing more harm than good.

take care,
PA

Another fine point to coincide the ample water consumption neccessity. Clean water is a must. I have a water purification system and it truely does make all the difference in the world. I spent the money for a good permanent system to clean my water. It's reassurung to know the water is pure and not mineral and chemical saturated water. Who the hell knows what's in the water these days that might effect our goals. And as water in abundance is a must for us it is best to consume the purest water we can.

I agree. I carry water everywhere even where it says no food or drink. So far nobody has said any thing to me. Don't forget if you are drinking 1 gallon a day, 1 week out from contest double the amount before cutting back on Thursday before Saturday show.

I used to get ripped on at work all the timefor carying a gallon with me. But hey its worth it. 3 to 4 gallons aday is alot for me. I get in about 1 1/2 to 2 in the off season and then I up that when dieting for competition.
