what type you you guys and girls like? i am impartial to electronic/techno/house type stuff, like Prodigy, The Crystal Method, etc.

i have done routines to Crystal M and Prodigy, and this time i am thinking of doing a track from Daft Punk, "Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger", from their Discovery CD. moderate-paced, constant, hard hitting baseline and electronicised voicing, done quite brilliantly. these guys are pure genius /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif also a possibility would be starting with a slow song, interrupted with a "record skip", and going into the song previously specified..yeah, i like that shit!

DREXX, GOPRO, HARSHCURVES, i wanna hear from you 3, and anyone else with a show coming up!

take care,
PA

I just did a guest posing last saturday at the Central America Muscle Extravaganza In Belize,I used a number called INCREDIBLE MUSCLE...It has both a latin beat (which the crowd loved) and a modern dance type feel. I am thinking of useing it for the show in July....
By the way good poll! I hope all is well! Best wishes to you! Sincerely,HarshCurves

Papa Roach - Between Angels and Insects

Kid Rock - American Badass (I don't like Kid Rock
but this is a good posing song)

Rob Zombie - Dragula

NIN - Into the void

Anything by AC/DC or Metalica

Classical - John Carl Off - Oh Fortuna

If it's not hard it's not worth doing...

I don't compete, but Drexx already picked my favourite classical piece. You really have to ooze confidence on stage posing to it or it just won't work.

Drexx, what have you picked?

Hey Pharm.I am a firm believer in posing to music that moves YOU.What I mean is that when you hear the music and picture yourself posing to it you literally get chills up your spine.Your music should elicit a strong emotional reaction withihn you. There are many great songs out there, but only certain ones will give you this type of feeling and THAT is a truly individual thing.I have seen people pose to songs that I would never even listen to,but then I see they are so attatched to and in touch with their music that their performance outshines all others.Personally,I usually mix together 2 songs...one that is slow and dramatic followed by one that just rocks the house.I like to use movie scores alot and then usually a hard rock or maybe a techno piece that gets me and the audience going.Whatever you choose, make sure you feel it in YOUR SOUL.

Thanks Pharm.I can't stand to see how hard people work to get into contest shape and then they put no time into their posing routine. So what if it doesn't really figure into the final scoring...our bodies are works of art and should be displayed as such.We get about 2 minutes to show off the body it took us years to create,so I say give the audience 2 minutes they will remember for a long time!

"I say give the audience 2 minutes they will remember for a long time!"

i agree. if you plan on going anywhere in the sport, you must remember that there are important members of the BBing community in evening show audiences. to become well known in your area, you must catch the eyes of more than a few of these individuals!

I attended a local show a couple of months back...Let me tell you how sick I am of hearing Ac/Dc. It seemed everyone got together and decided to do the same song and boring routine.

Admittedly, it was just a local show, but you would have thought people would have put more time into it. PhaAnim said it best. I think for your name to get out and make people talk about you, outside of your physique of course, give them something to talk about. Act professional and get people involved or moved by your music and hopefully your performance.

You guys should have seen King Kamali at the Arnold this year. That was the best routine I have ever seen.....Better than vince Taylor's.

Take Good Care,

Cg

Funny this should come up. I was just thiking it over today as a matter of fact...

I had considered an old Eric B. & Rakim song, "Juice (Know the Ledge)" but I dont know if the toungue in cheek juice referance would go over well or not /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
I have a couple other Eric B.& Rakim songs Im thinking over, but Im not sure yet.

BTW, I was just listening to Crystal Method earlier... I have a copy of Veags I burned in the car all the time! Of course I burned it for "evaluation purposes only" and I'll be paying for it within 24 hours! /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

"no leaf clover" by Metallica off their S&M disc. Starts with a Conan death march then into a slow bridge then finishes with traditional hardhitting Metallica all with in 90sec.

"Black Cat" is a great song. Most importantly,do YOU like it.If you are emotionally in touch with your music and know how to pose you can pose to the theme from Gilligan's Island and pull it off! /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

lol Gilligan's Island. NICE GOPRO! haha. I haven't watched enough shows to know what the most common type of music is or anything so this will be a test for me to get up on stage w/ only watching 3 shows total in my life! LOL. As long as I look good I'll be happy though. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks!

AJ...people pose to all kinds of music...fast,slow,hard rock, house, classical, disco, rap, etc, etc. But the best routines are always the ones in which the person seems to be enjoying themselves an their music.Don't worry...just look good, smile, and project to the crowd that you're having fun! They will love you! /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

In the past I have used the following:

conan soundtrack ( not bad if your physique is impressive )

jodeci ( too slow )

tea party ( crowd loves it )

But on the show that I won I had Sisqo ( got to get it ) and it was pretty good.
