Default Competitive Bodybuilding

How does it work? How does one get from local shows to the pro level? Who on here has pro aspirations - FC I am assuming that you do.

Buy an NPC membership, then win a qualifying NPC show to qualify for IFBB pro status. You can enter an NPC show anytime but if youre smart you do local shows first to polish up on the P's and Q's...
NPC memberships are $50 a year, and ya need a new one every year (the bastards!)
I wont even get into the politics and "seedy" side of it all

Win your class at a NPC local event (National qualifier)

Then go to the Nationals(3 pro cards) OR USAs (1 pro card) and win

And you qualify for pro status (IFBB)

It sounds a million times easier than it is.

It just changed too didnt it IG? I thought I read that theyre letting more people from the qualifiers in? Like first in weight class and the overall, or something like that?

Im wondering if the new class in the NPC will cause that category to be started in the pro ranks?

I have oficially been bitten by the bug.

Yes, I do have aspirations of turning pro. I won my show last night, and plan on competing again next saturday if I can maintain my conditioning & peak again properly.

It was a national qualifier, so I can compete in national level shows now...however, I plan on doing more local level shows to get some more stage experience, even though I was quite impressed with myself last night watching the video back. I plan on doing the junior nat's this year. I guess depending on how I do, hmmm...the possibilites seem endless.

Congrats FC!

I had no doubt you would win.

In Canada its a little different.

Level 1 - Local Show
Level 2 - Regional Show
Level 3 - Provincial Show (State)
Level 4 - Nationcal Show

You can get your pro card at a level 4 show.

You must place top 3 in level 1 to compete in a level 2 show and so on...

If it's not hard it's not worth doing...
