I admit it...I've been a slacker all winter. I"ve been remodeling and skiing and keeping active, but I haven't been in the gym much and I've got about 5# of extra fat covering up any work I've done and making me look squishy.

Yesterday, I started back...and I thought I was smart and started light...2 sets of 20 reps for a whole body work out just to get the muscles used to the weight again.

My muscles were NOT used to the weight again. I must be getting old. No...wait...I am old.

I do have to say...Feeling sore motivates me even more to get back to the gym regularly so that I don't feel like this.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go down some geritol and ibuprofen.

I've lost track of how many times that's happened. 100 maybe? I read somewhere you were getting soft in the middle. Good thing that post is not here anymore I suppose. :)

Damn...and here with that post gone, I could have just claimed to be a super man (especially after seeing Wonder Woman!).

Hey! Wait a minute! I don't remember anyone saying I was getting soft! Damn...

Yeah...but it looks like you haven't been slacking. You look awesome.

Just more motivation for me to get back in shape...

That's just deconditioning. It'd happen to you regardless of your age or training experience after a layoff. Your strength and conditioning should return pretty quickly now that you're training consistently again. A light active recovery day might help the soreness from this session dissipate more quickly (and it'd help you get used to the lifts again, too).
