Well I needed a fresh start anyways :)

With BigD out of town, the 12 week comp wasn't going so well LOL. However, he does have a gym in the camp he is staying, but there is no heat in the trailer and at -45 it is kinda hard to workout LOL. When he is in town I am sure he will be working out with me so that is when I will post his workouts.

This is my target! But if anything, getting back on track with diet and exercise, unfortunately, I know I need a trainer because I feel accountable. Plus, half the time I have NO clue what to do.

The IVKAR Cup
Canada’s Ultimate Physique Challenge
Vancouver (Canadian West INBA International Qualifier)
Saturday, August 23
Venue:

Arts Centre & Theatre (ACT)
1944 Haney Place
Maple Ridge, BC

I have submitted my 4 days of off track eating to her, and let me tell you, it wasn't fun, my stomach has suffered. but she wanted to see what I eat and when to accomodate my schedule and grocery shopping.

However, with that being said I had a wonderful mushroom and spinach stuffed chicken thighs last night, that were to die for, but my stomach is now taking it literally. I have never been one for mixing foods lOL.

So I meet with her again Tuesday, diet and exercise schedule, and I am looking forward to it.

Let the games begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Thanks!. I remember an old log before, and it took a lot to post the first pics but I did and every month things just started to fall into place.

I knew NOTHING, absolutely nothing. But a lot of good people on this board helped me and educated me.

Going into round two it is a blessing because I know so much more than I ever could of possibly imagined.

I am still learning, but I know there is a lot more great people here to learn from, motivate and cheer me on. It is going to be one fun ride!

I am so proud of you and you are my gurl. Let me know if I can help if any way.

Training is important but I really want you to look at your diet from EACH of those sets of pics, it was very different from one to the next. :)

You can do this, you will and you know how to get started. When you're on the road, you'll see those signs that tell you youre going in the right direction, you made an ILLEGAL U TURN, no running red lights, and Ill be easy when you stroll through a yellow. :)

story of the day!

One of my girlfriends called me last night with a whole bunch of questions about my training and then we eventually got on the topic about my kids bedtime. Never thought anything....

My girlfriends ambushed me last night!

They all came over when my kids were in bed with a shit load of alcohol LOL. They knew I was receiving my diet from my trainer today, and they knew I would not be drinking anymore, so they wanted one last drink with me LOL.

So there we were tuesday night (like a bunch of desperate housewives) drinking... wine, champain, vodka and bailey's.

Needless to say, I had a wonderful evening, they all let me know that they would all be there for me, told me if I need babysitting for gym time that they would be there... and happy that they now have a perminate designated driver for awhile.

Laughs, good times.. and now I am extremely hung over on a wednesday morning and really really sore from yesterday's workout.

Its all good, I realize the location of a lot of muscles in my body and that I have really supportive friends this morning.

Workout

45 minutes of cardio.
stretching

suppliments
multivitamin
omega
vit c
evening primrose

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

30 MINUTES OF CARDIO MORNING
30 MINTUES OF CARDIO TONIGHT

My trainer comes tomorrow with my diet and she is working out with me tomorrow:elephant:, it has been snowing bad here so the roads were not great to travel on.

Story of the day:

BigD is home!!! Yahoo. I feel like a bad mommy. I caved into my little (5 yrs old) and let her get her ears pierced in December. We have had no problems until this morning. I have never seen so much puss in my life. I figure it is because I finally let her wear different earings and when I changed them I might of scraped the inside of her ear. UG.

I havae one pierced ear. It's been pierced for 5 yrs & I still can't change an earing without getting some irritation. Just make sure the earings are always pure. Gold or silver, no alloys.

I can only wear real gold or silver so that is what I bought her, though it is a little better today. But all black and blue on the other side, I wonder if she banged her ear???

Happy Birthday BigD
xoxoxoxo

Workout today:
walking squats

supersweating my ass off sets
bench press 60lbs with legs raised then going into leg raises
bent over rows standing on one leg 20lbs

Saturday and sunday and Monday
Cardiooooooo 30 minutes each day.

A little annoyed she is emailing me my workout monday and I hope my diet.

BigD is rigging up the basement with a chin up bar and chains for hanging push ups and pulls ups... and other various activities LOL

side note.. she noticed that my back muscles are stronger and more prominant on the right side (and I am left handed, go figure... anyways so all back exercises will be unilateral from now on.

oh yeah and everytime I am in the van, everytime I see the color red I have to do some pelvic exercises to strenghten my core.

My daughter had problems with her ears if the backs were too tight. If there wasn't a little bit of room between the ear and the earring back her ears would swell up and get infected even though we cleaned them twice(or more) per day.

P.S. I'm glad the girls ambushed you for an adult slumber party. Glad you enjoyed it.

First, please tell me I sent you rep for those pictures. I swear on my life I commented on them, but it's not here and I'll feel like an asshole if I didn't. I THOUGHT I did... :dunno: I'm so proud of you, I'd be pissed if I didn't tell you.

Second, best thing I can think of for those ears is not only to clean them thoroughly (as others mentioned) and use true metal earrings (as others said) is to make sure after you clean them up, you put some facial lotion on them. The cleaning dries them out and I find that when mine are dry skin like that, it won't heal. A little lotion seemed to really help it heal along.

Third, coolness on the trainer and the girlfriends. I have gfs here who I can go to and call on if need be, but none that would ambush me like that. You are truly blessed to have friends that close that care so much. It rules :)

Hope your diet comes soon. And your workout. Patience sucks but it's a virtue... or something like that

We are getting handles to attach to the chains then the chains will attach to the chin up bar to do hanging pull ups and hanging push ups, it really works core and balance (two things I do not have right now LOL) Plus I can't do a full pull up so this will aid in doing so.

Right now, I am in my pj's, I think Hidn gave me what ever he got, I am so full of snot and congested, the only thing I will be doing today is lying in bed. I am slated to get everything tomorrow so one day of rest is going to be more beneficial than pushing it. Nasty, nasty cold. I woke up in the middle of the night with a coup cough and literally was gasping for air, my throat felt like it was closing in.
BigD has bought me buckley's, neocitrin and a decongestion and usually I never take cold medicine, but I think that scared him last night.

Have a good one

Sorry 'bout that. Computer viruses suck, LOL.
I didn't have that much congestion, or cough.
I read today that the flu shot isn't as effective this year. They have to guess in advance which strains are gonna be more prevalent, and sometimes they're a little off.

That is what I heard about the flu shot too thats why I didn't get one this year. The one year I did get one I was sick the entire winter. I am better now as long as I don't move around LOL.

The kids and BigD pitched in and cleaned the house and I was all set to get on the dreadmill but I forced myself not too, I have a feeling breathing would be an issue. Tomorrow morning for sure!!! I already have my shoes and workout clothes, and my YES right by the bed! I figure the YES would be great to clear up my sinus' too! LOL

That is what I heard about the flu shot too thats why I didn't get one this year. The one year I did get one I was sick the entire winter. I am better now as long as I don't move around LOL.

I seriously can't wait to get on the dreadmill tomorrow.

I always get the flu shot. Never really had a problem 'cept this year & I think the ColdFX shortened it considerably.

Feel better!!!

A few years ago I had a sinus infection while I was working and going to night school, and it pretty much wiped me out for a month. It was just flat-out awful, and I could force myself to do some half-assed cardio maybe once a week in that period.

Rest rest rest. :)

Not sure how effective it'll be, now that frank symptoms are present. It may shorten it, though.
They've coem out with a new, Extra Strength product. Price is the same, 50% higher dose per cap, 1/3 less caps per bottle, works out to be the same price per mg per bottle. However, the recomended dose is 1/3 lower, so the price per cycle is actually cheaper.

LOL, sorry, it is hard to get angry when you quit smoking and can't run to one so I have to find other ways to vent.

lower back is only a tiny bit sore, I stretched after and I am going to take a jacuzzi, it has been seeming to do the trick when it gets aggravated, granted I have not run that speed in a very long time.

Thanks!

I completely empathize with you on the quitting smoking. I quit cold turkey, oh about 20 years ago. Put on about 15 pounds (but I looked better) and had to turn to running and strength training to vent. All the while the then husband continued to smoke.

I'm glad you didn't hurt your back. Last thing you need is to be down because of your back.:rose:

Thanks guys,

Yesterday, I did run but only at 4.2. My back is holding up, but I am going to have to get some sort of lifting in. But I must say, I finally fit back into my favorite workout shirt (poor thing is all ripped and torn) and it was really loose in the tummy region YAHOOOO!

THURSDAY, FEB 21, 2008

Major milestone, I went to the store today and I didn't buy smokes!!! I have been avoiding the store like the plag, but I needed milk and coffee. So I walked in, literally stopped and forgot for a sec what I even went in there for. I must say even going through the checkout was weird cause I saw them and walked away!

I have my hard times, but even driving in the van is getting easier. I am supposed to go to my mothers house this weekend to visit my papa but I don't know if I want to go, because they both smoke. But I have to see my papa. arrr. I HAVE to SUCK IT UP and be a big girl.

Do I dare say it my trainer is supposed to come today, LMAO, but she is and I don't even know what to say to her. A whole month and no program and diet. I have to SUCK IT UP and be a big girl LOL.

Started a dayhome for extra cash, and to pay some bills down, Having fun with it, kids LOVE it too, and I am happy to say my fish are still alive!!! GO Teddy Bear Daycare!

so hopefully by tonight I will have some plan and this log can really take off!

Thanks,:bear:
Yup.. she has been busy with family issues, so I publicly apologize for throwing a tantrum. My last post was the workout she put me through, my booty and quads and hams and calves are very sore LOL.

I am going to be supersetting my ass off (literally) for awhile to shed the fat, and strengthn or hypertrophy (she explained it in layman's terms, but I already forgot... DUH). I just know that it is going to be gruelling and I only get one day off right now. but I am looking forward to the challenge, but I really have to watch my form.

The diet will come on tuesday (free of charge). But I am still following the 40/30/30 1800 for now on my own.

She said I am still good to go for August, so tomorrow begins my new workout. I am excited, nervous and scared but it is good cause I fear failure which makes me work harder!

I send you those vibes daily.

Thanks, and congrats to you THAT IS AWESOME!, when do the cravings go away???? :D Nicotine is said to be OUT of your system as early as 2 weeks. Regardless of the OTHER data, just focus on that. :) Now, when it's OUT of your system, what's left, just the habits...

To this day my dad will still reach for his front pocket for his smokes. He quite cold turkey after 30 yrs of literally smoking 3 packs a day. THREE. Winstons or Reds. His mother died of lung cancer and he lost his job (well forced into early retirement, lucky bastard) ... So at the HARDEST time in his life, he did it, raw.

Your mind is capable of overcoming even the most difficult hardships when committed.

Keep up the great work.

Food should start to taste better after the first month too :)

RIP Flower.

We started talking about the shows here in the city and he said their shop sponsers all the shows, so I am making contacts in the bb world, not sure what that will bring but I thought it was kinda cool, he even knew my trainers and he even helped me to the car with all my new stuff!

Bosu Ball workout 30 minutes
(I liked this workout, but it wasn't much of a sweat for me. a lot of lunges, squats and intro ab work. It really worked my lower back and now I know various ab exerces I will be doing without the tape. I will reserve this tape for sundays when I want an extra push.)

AB WORK included
Bicycles on bosu ball
planks on bosu ball
crunches on bosu ball
v situps on bosu ball

TO DO

1. not too much but keep the house clean, still haven't made that hair appointment yet LOL

Story of the Day

Family is a wonderful thing, my sister and I have been fighting for over a year now, and FINALLY we resolved everything last night. Her husband is still a butt munch, but whatever, I don't have to live with him.

My papa's chemo is not going so well, and he has developed dimensha all of a sudden. But I am not sure to what extent, I mean he doesn't want home care and he decided to skip out on his apointment and go out for lunch, but my relatives are calling that dimensha (I think it is pretty clever, but what do I know). Now the other various said things he is doing are questionable.

Thanks,
It is my grandfather, and they did take his drivers license away today. We are going to see him this weekend and have decided that it will be a weekly thing. He sounded so down today. I am bringing him a whole bunch of food to, so I hope that makes him a little happy. He always brings my kids seriously buckets full of candy so it will be fun to return the favor and he has lost 25lbs since christmas so I think a little extra won't hurt.

Lat pulldowns 8/9/5 only five the last set
(so I tried the band and no go.. my 5 year old daughter, while I was holding the little bugger did 10 for each of my sets !!!!!!, I realized that I am really trying to just use my arms to pull myself up, I am not sure how to get the back muscles into it, or if I even have them to do it)
Do you wrap the band over a rail or bar? I find that to engage the lats when using a band, I keep arms wider than shoulder width apart and imagine chains attached at the elbows pulling down; keep the back arched during entire movement. I squeeze at the bottom as though I am trying to crack a nut between my shoulder blades.

That's great about your sister. And about her hubbie. You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your relatives.
So, when you take yer Papa some food, is it just gonna be rice, steamed chicken breasts & broccoli?

I can't visualize how your doing those.
Like TIE said, don't think of your arms as working. Your forearms are just connecting rods to the bar. The action of pulling your elbows down(raising your body up) is done with the lats and bis. Concentrate on the lats & the bis will follow That's how I did it.
Try using this grip if you can.

Thats exactly it!! I am sooo using my forearms!!! I will try to concentrate on the bis and lats. That video really helped. Thanks.

LOL about the chicken and brocolli, ummm, no he is more a tv dinner type of guy and at this moment we don't want him even using the microwave but it is better than the stove.

Keep trying on the pullups, they are tough, even after lifting for several years, I could not do them, it took a concentrated effort on them to do it. I started off with a spotter having to hold my legs and help (we didn't have fancy assisted machines) but within several weeks of training could start to get some on my own. But now, even with years of training, I can do 10 with BW and thats about it. Now those are full range of motion, not partials like you sometimes see those kids doing who do like 50 reps, but the point is, its tough. But a very good, doable goal.

I think you will get it. :) Just remember that your hands and forearms are just "attachments" to the bar. The muscles doing the work are back, shoulders (to a certain extent) and biceps. If you remember squeeze your shoulder blades together and contract your lats, it will become easier. And the lighter you get, the easier it will be. :)

Oh yeah, I don't think anyone has mentioned how sore you will be after you start doing pull ups for reps. I remember when I first learned how and did 4 sets of 10, I could not move or breathe without pain for a couple of days.

I forgot to mention it, but also when building up to pullups, do negatives, that helped a bunch too, and you can do them when you are alone too. Just step up on blocks or jump and then control your decent as slowly as possible and repeat until failure.

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement and advice. I appreciate it, and NEED IT lol

I received a phone call today and my papa collapsed, broke his shoulder, and burned his hand. His blood count is way too low so they are going to give him a blood transfusion and keep him in the hospital for a could more days. I don't think they are going to continue with the chemo :tear:

I can't get to the hospital until tomorrow when BigD comes home and for the next couple of day I will be living at the hospital.

Just in case I don't log for a couple of days, I promise to get my food and workouts in! I have written my meals for the next week so it will be easier. and on a brighter note, I have lost even more weight and I can see more definition in my abs and legs. My friends have even commented on my imiprovement!

Tonight I am going HARD on legs, abs and cardio for my papa I expect my lower half to be as sore as my upper half is (I can hardly pick up a cup lol) by tomorrow LOL!!!!!

I am going to be donating blood, if anyone has the time can you please do the same.

I will let you know at 8 when I get hungry LMAO. I know the ratio is

carbs 70.9% 293 grams of carbs
protein 16% 24 grams of fat
fat 13.1% 66 grams of protein

Its all about the endurance right now, and other medical fators that contribute to the need of higher carbs. It will change as I go and we may lower the carbs slowly to see the effect on my body, metabolism and brain function LOL. I forgot to post this.....

this is what she figured out in her calculations.... these calories are to maintain my weight when I first started at 162.5 based on my height and age.

no activity: 1499
mild activity: 1998 calories
moderate activity 2141 calories
high activity: 2498 calories

just make the most of the time you have now and focus on that. Both of my grandfathers died 6 months either side of my birth :dunno:..so I didn't even get to know either of them

I don't mean to sound cold when I say I hope it ends quickly..it's just that I had an uncle that died of cancer 2 yrs ago and the lingering with no quality of life is just so much harder on them. It will be hard for those left behind when ever it happens..so better for him if it's quick.

I totally understand, I had to tell my oldest boy tonight and I explained to him that I would rather papa have some quality of life before he dies because he is going to die and if the chemo just makes him that sick it just isn't good.

My grama lived for 4 months after the diagnoses and it was ok until the last month and she didn't even know who she was anymore let alone us so......

Thinking of you!:rose:

Thank you sooo very much, it was a very rough day for him at the hospital, and I needed that very much right now. It was a gong show at the hospital, a lot of nurses which was a great thing, but I think my mom was overwhelmed and I had to calm her down a couple of times and well myself.

thank you again:grouphug:

I took off a 1.5 years off, I tried here and there but no go, but so far so good.

You should take progress pics for yourself! It took me awhile to post them, but now that I know I have encouraged someone, it was worth it.

Thanks, I appreciate that, and your words encourage me even more!

Today:

warm up on dreadmill

incline flyes 20lbs
dips
push ups with bosu ball flipped upside down

cardio: dreadmill 25 minutes

My papa fell out of bed yesterday?? not sure how or why but going to visit him tonight. There is talk of him living here IF he does get better till the end, not sure yet what is going to happen but he did look a little better this weekend besides the giberish he was talking from time to time but it could of been the morphine talking.

BigD is gone again. :sadwavey: for the limited healthy food at the camp, he is sure looking HOT, way more muscle definition and side trimmed way down. WAY TO GO BIGD!!!!:coolred:

Everyone have a spectacular week!

Thanks, they did a bone scan on him to see if the cancer went there, and great news it didn't, bad news, he has a bladder infection so I don't think the chemo will start this week. We are going to see him this weekend.

We still are not sure if he is coming to live here, they said he will need 2 full time care workers.

Well my dreadmill isn't working ARRRR. so I skipped for 10 and did 30 minute firm tape. skipping is getting easier and it is NOT affecting my back ROCK ON!

My lat pull downs ROCKED!!! I felt it in my forearms again so I really really concentrated and got it in the back and they were easier to do and I got all my sets. My forearms still kill like a mother f*&* though, but all is AWESOME!!!!!

My thighs and I thank you (well that didn't sound right now did it LMAO, you know what I mean LOL)

Hey there, Twinny! Way to go on getting the cardio in despite the dreadmill!

What kind of grip do you use on lat pull downs? I found that if you wrap your thumb over the top of the bar with your fingers, that takes the focus off your grip. Sort of turns your hands into hooks.

 for you and papa and family.

I will definitely try that, I can barely type my forearms are sooo sore.. I am dreading tomorrows workout with my trainer LOL. Yup 25 minutes of Jiggle Free abs by the firm, not too much sweating but I like to take it easier on Wednesdays and my Abs are sure feeling it!. Oh yeah, and some serious veins popping out of the forearms!!!! I am getting back at it and LOVE every minute!

Thanks Twinny!

Chicken thighs

Fry fresh mushrooms in olive oil with a little garlic powder, koser salt and ground pepper to taste. After stir in chopped spinach. take the chicken thighs and open the skin or stuff inbetween (you can use a little shredded cheese of your liking as well) bake in the oven, it is that easy and soooo tasty!

The pushups are hard (for me) but AWESOME, you turn the bosu upside down and you have to balance it so it really works the core too.

The french press, my shoulders were the only thing on the bench so it made me work my core as well, you can do that with flys too on a medicine ball. LOVE IT!

Any chance theirs another panel for upstairs?
Wifey had a case the other say where a breaker was tripped, but didn't show it. If you put slight pressure off, you'll feel it trip easily. You could actually turn all the breakers off, then back on again.

It wouldn't happen to be a GFI receptacle, would it? Check to see if any of the receptacles there have reset buttons. If there is, one button will be TRIP, or TEST, & the other will be RESET.

The hospital visit went sooo good today, the kids came in and my papa wanted out of bed, we even took him downstairs for a bite to eat!! BRING THE NOISE PAPA

did the lat pulls downs with my thumbs in proper position. I actually tried to pull my self up first, I was able a tiny winy bit :coolred: my forearms are not as sore today and I was able to do 12/6/10/2 HA HA. BRING THE NOISE!!!

I started doing dips and realized I was supposed to do military presses but I pulled off 12 dips with no problems. BRING THE NOISE!!!!

I also did 60 minute FIRM TAPe instead of 25 minutes cardio BRING THE NOISE!!!
eating not so good but not so bad

1 cup oatmeal
tsp flaxseed
1/2 cup skim milk

1/2 veggie burger with the white buns and mayo and relish (only ate half it was pretty nasty and WAY too much mayo

two hot dogs/no buns
1/2 cup of green beans

I would be curious to plug that into fitday, but I am too lazy. Way too much to do, wrote out my food for tomorrow and plan on going ot the hospital after lunch so that doesn't happen again.

Thank you, thank you!!! not too much noise today, I ended up going to the hospital with the kids, they colored while I watched TV with my papa. It was an excellent visit, he was lecturing me on the ways of the world, and I love listening to his stories!

Some crazy loonie is in the bed beside him with two armed guardes and is schackled to the bed so we didn't stay too long. I am not quite sure why in the ward my papa is in but.

Had to get ready for the week to come so I am Saving the big workout for tomorrow. Ate really clean and well today and got 2.2L of water in.

Plugging my food into fitday again since I just did and it has been 1900 not 1600 according to the trainer but it is still less than what I had been previously eating so tomorrow it will be corrected. Todays calories were 1200.

not starving at night anymore YAHOOOO, green tea is my friend!

on an aquarium note, my frog is at the top of the aquarium, he is misssing an arm, he is all bloated and his eye is red... I spoke to the pet store and they say he still might make it, poor thing, I just hope it isn't in too much pain. Learning more than I ever thought I would about fish and anphibians LOL.

and congrats again on your big run today!!!!!!

You know I have been thinking about you CK, hope I don't bring a tear to your eye, but Just reading about how you took the kids to the hospital. I lost my grandfather to brain cancer many years ago. He got sick and was in the hospital very fast, had surgery and then went in a coma. He never made it.. The hospitals were so tight back then that they didn't allow little kids in his unit. My sister and I never got a chance to see him before he passed.

Cherish every moment you and your children have with papa. Live them, laugh with him and love each other!

Toodles girl... whooops peaches will give me a pouncin for saying that word, lol!

He will always will be my hero, he used to work in the mines until he hurt his back and then became a janitor for a mall in a city close to where we live. Never complained and worked hard to put food on the table. There used to be big candles on the Woodwards sign, he was able to take them when the store went under and we still have them and put them on my parents house at christmas time.

For every move I have made he was there with his truck and helped me move out and even gave my ex boyfriends a word or two before I left LOL. and every single birthday for me my kids and BigD, come rain or shine he was there.

My kids are starting to understand that he is probably not coming home with me not saying a word and they are excited to go to the hospital.

WW I am so sorry you never got to see your grandfather before he passed. But I know he is looking down on you now with a huge smile on his face and proud!

I almost puked and could hardly walk down the stairs after that work out, she also had me doing jumping squats on and off the bosu and the aerobic stepper KILLLLLER!

That sounds so great. A good friend following the same path is as motivating as it gets. Listen to your body CK, especially since you have a couple chronic injuries that you have to be smart about. Better to take a couple days off the heavy lifting and cardio rather than having no choice but to take a lot more time than that off. Maybe doing some complexes with some light DB's might provide the perfect cardio + strength maintenance you need until your body feels refreshed. Just an idea.

I am taking your advice and taking it easy today. But what are complexes?

I figure today I am not supersetting and I will walk on the treadmill. My hip is still a little sore today.

Sorry, I was gonna 'splain it but I got interrupted. Pick 4 to 6 compound moves you can do with a light weight. Note I only used 65 lbs on the bar. Then do 1 set of each exercise with no rest in between. Rest 60 - 90 seconds, then do another superset(or is that giant set? :dunno: ). Do 4 - 6 sycles like that, emphasizing speed in the movement. it's tougher than it sounds.

I kinda do that now... the supersets that I do, but there is absolutely no rest between sets or reps, but I only do three!. I am learning the names of all of this and it is great!!!

But tonight I am only going to do 3x10 for each with no supersetting. I am really going to work on form.

hey you never did pm me ;o)

I did abs so far

3x20
bicycles
crunches
side crunches

The rest will be tonight.....

3x10
lat pull downs
bent over rows
military press

45 minutes walking on the dreadmill.

Thanks, pics sooon! probably this weekend, I have a lot of stubborn fat in areas, but even within a week, BigD came home and really noticed without me saying a word. Plus my shirts are fitting looser in the tummy area, tighter in the arm area. My jeans are looser in the tummy area and tighter in the leg area. I am going to work warehouse and picking up a pair of mens jeans until my tummy is completely flat. :elephant:

So like instead of lifting or doing cardio... try taking like 10-20 pound DB's (wherever u are comfortable... u dont want to stress the lower back) or just a bar..

and do 5-10 reps of 5 or 6 different compoundexercises back to back to back then rest two minutes between sets for a total of 3. You should be winded by the end of the first and breaking a sweat by the 2nd and u'll burn a bunch of calories. It shouldn't really affect ur strength or cause much soreness after the first couple times.

Like bent over row/deadlift/squat/overhead press/front squat and u can even add like pushups/situps etc.

A fun change of pace now and again.

Congratulations on all the progress! Hope the trainer kicks ur booty ;)

Great stuff there for conditioning and it'll bring up some muscles that ya didnt even know could get sore too.
kook does em in his log with a barbell instead of db's, but the theme is the same.
I do it now and then with bands or ill just go around a machine circuit for a while on an off day for like a half hour.

Cool stuff, I think I will try that tomorrow! I ended up doing cardio and burning 400 cals yesterday running at 6.0 on an incline of 6 for one minute and then back down to 4.5 still on an incline of 6 for another minutes, rinse and repeat for 30 minutes, and then walking for 10 minutes, yes you can smack me LOL

But I am pretty sure after today's session I will need to do the compounds on friday, she kicks my ass so bad, I don't have to do cardio after!

Thanks guys! :rose:

Very interesting and rocking session.

I started off 10 minutes running my stairs (man was I sweating) She started me with leg exercises and noticed right away something was wrong with my hip!!! She started pysio exercises on me right away.

For the next two weeks, absolutely no leg exercises for 2 weeks, skipping (is completely out now). She wants me to do these daily

1. standing strides
( I completely noticed my leg is all twisted while doing these in the proper form)
2. hip raises
(stand on one leg and raise my hip), I have a hard time on my right hip, it was kinda funky but it confirmed what I was thinking and feeling about my hip out of place.
3. lying hip relaxors
(put one leg on a chair at a 90degree angle, foot flexed at a 90 degree angle, the other leg straight and up against a wall, foot at a 90degree angle and just lie there, and put a towel in the small of my back) After about 4 minutes my hip relaxed and went into place! It feels sooo much better!
4. lying hip raises
(ly on back, knees up and legs bent at 90degrees and raises my hips up so my knees come up not forward) these also worked my lower tummy

She said that do cardio still, however, it is what I feel comfortable doing. She thinks that these exercises will also improve my running anyway and by the way my hip feels now, I totally think she is right!

She doesn't think that this will impede my shedding process at all, in fact she thinks that it will help me even more when I get on stage. She said once I strengthen my hip again she will incorporate more exercises. Balance has been an issue for awhile now, but as she is giving me all these funky exercises I am truly noticing a difference (thank goodness)

I am sooo excited. As she was talking about me on stage I was visualizing it!
