View Full Version : HELP TWEAKED MY CHEST.....

was warming up with 225 lbs bench.....twaked my front delt...upper chest tie in area..... it is sore to the touch just in like this line maybe 2 inches....did the rest of my lift fine....been stretching it.....it doest hurt to do do like a front flex or anything so i don think its too serious..... just a little scarry
what are your expierences with this? what should i do to help healing?

You iced - right? 20 - 30 mintues on with compression and 1 hour off for the first 48 - 72 hours?
Any discoloration?
You have a little strain (tear). I would asses it again after about 4 days (poke around and move it around some and see if it hurts). If not really that much, start some GENTLE stretching and you can try some massage. Ice afterwards.
Expect to take 3 - 4 weeks away from chest and pressing for shoulders.

You can try and promote healing by going 10 ice..10 heat for a few rounds. It increases the blood flow to that area.
Take care of yourself and don't push it.

took a codene last night .....feels fine today just a little sore to the touch MUCh improved from yesterday......no discoloration......will avoid all pressing for a week and see where i am at

Trust me, you will need more than a week. If you do try something in a week, go very, very light.
I have seen many people make the injury worse after laying off for 1 - 2 weeks, then they are out 4 - 6 = 2 months off! Be smart my man and live to fight another a day.

Yup, a slight strain or slight tear. We would call it a Grade I.
From what I have seen in other people (and myself) usually about 2 weeks off is what you will need, maybe 3.

well i really onyl gave it 8 days off.... did chest...even with it sore.... 3 days later..... im totally fine........
