Been wanting to build one for awhile now since my garage has a pronounced slope, about 2.5" along an 8ft length.
Got the plans off of Ironmind and Stumptuous sites, the basics of which were pretty easy. The hard part was leveling it, luckily I had a friend who's pretty handy and has all the tools. We even put some soundproof material underneath between the 2 x 4's and I got the rubber mats at a horse feed store for $60.
Anyway, I love it and it's a pleasure to lift on a level surface now. I think my gym is all set now :chef:

I really need to do something similar in my stable. Lifting on a slope is a bit sucky: I squat downhill and deadlift uphill.
Nice work and good to see you on here again.

Looks great. How exactly did you level it? Just with the wood, or did you use any sort of levelling compound for support?

Wow thanks everyone. I really like it.

Yes. Just a little angle makes a difference, when I went back to level I felt like I was falling forward when I was squatting. Plus no more old shoes to jam up against the plates to keep them from rolling back when I deadlifted. :fightingswords:
Re: the stall mats I have to admit it was my first time in a feedstore lol.

Well at first I had used some of that soundproof material to shim it along the length of the platform since it was 4 x 8. :compsmash: But my friend was nice enough to come over and ripped some 2 x 4's at different heights that we screwed to the bottom of the platform every 12". Hopefully it's beefy enough to take the repeated pounding.

The powerblocks are cool but I don't use them much. They're nice to have when I need them and they don't take up too much space like a full set would that's for sure :artist:
