Good job youngun!! Where's the squat video?
I'm not video judging but I think you could have moved faster on the descent on that bench. You would have loaded the shirt better and had more pop. You are a very strong guy and have a great future ahead of you!! SS, RB

The squat video came out so dark that all you see is my socks and the head judges shirt. The hotel maintenance crew actually came in to replace a bunch of bulbs between the squatting and benching.
As far as the shirt I was being cautious because I almost dumped my 2nd attempt on the way down.

yea...missed 733 at lockout on my 2nd attempt so I was pretty excited to nail it on my third...

Nice work man, congrats. I was checkin out some of yr youtube channel and you went from a 562 deadlift miss a year ago to a 733 this competition. Awesome fuckin progress man. I noticed you switched from conventional to sumo, do you attribute alot of that progress to findin a form that suited you or what?

Yea I missed 562 last April. The suit I was wearing was too tight and it prevented me from getting in the right position. I pulled 600+ raw a couple months after that. In May I hit 705 in a meet then decided to switch to sumo about a month ago and loved it.
I only pulled sumo in gear twice before this meet and it hurt me. If I was more comfortable in the gear I would have pulled more. Oh well.
I think most of my progress is due to actually pulling heavy and often. When I missed the 562 I didn't pull very often but instead tried to train the muscles used to deadlift. I started pulling every week shortly after that meet and my pull skyrocketed. I didn't go heavy every week but I was doing some sort of DL variation every week in addition to a ton of back work.

no doubt, i almost always stray away from deadlifting often but i ALWAYS find that when i get back to deadlifting every week almost - heavy or not - that my pull blows up.
like when i switched to pretty much a push / pull only lifting regimen because squats were fuckin up my elbows so bad, my pull blew up. Went from like 560 to just barely missing 625 in 2 or 3 months then i got injured at work n everything shit the bed, but anyway i hear you man.
Im trying to get back to DL'ing 1 way or another weekly again. If i squat heavy i dead light and vice versa (thats the plan anyway ;)) lets see if i stick to it n if it works.
Anyway, congrats again - huge progress man.

I can't pull heavy every week anymore because the loads tax my CNS to much so when I get back in the gym in the next week or so I'll be rotating heavy squats/pulls too.
