Now you know why the oil companies want Iraq. Only Saudi Arabi has more oil.
There is nothing there that's really news. It's just that people don't pay any attention to it when oil companies talk about it. Most people figure it's oil company BS. The problem is not a year away though. You'll be dead by the time this really happens as long as we make the swich to hibrid engines and stop driving SUV's and overpowered pick up trucks. Wait for me at the gates and I'll tell you what happens.

I only skimmed through it, but I noticed that the author used the term "fossil fuel" which suggests that he believes oil is of biological origin. Unfortunately I'm a bit busy today and I couldn't find the exact article I was looking for, but here are a few facts to consider while I look for the story:

The volume of oil taken from the earth so far ridiculously exceeds the possible amount of dead plants and other biological material to have supposedly been responsible for it.

Crude oil contains biological materials in the form of bacteria and other microbial material, but only in trace amounts, in other words, oil is contaminated with bacteria as it rises out while being pumped, and is itself a long chain pure hydrocarbon molecule unlike chemicals involved in life processes.

Oil is found at depths that far exceed the level of any fossils.

Oil is lighter than water and would float to the top if it actually was a by-product of fossil breakdown, because fossils are only created in or around sources of water.

Oil is found always without exception alongside helium which in no way, shape or form is of biological origin.
Other points to consider:

the Pennsylvania oilfields were pumped completely dry by the late eighteen hundreds which led to the idea that oil was limited, but guess what, the oil began to re-collect in those fields and somehow replenish itself so that drilling could begin again!

Scientific studies have shown that oil is continually formed by the magma of the earth and is of virtually limitless supply! This is why helium is formed alongside oil.
The article I was looking for appeared in the Washington Post some time ago and was co-written by a prominent scientist who has been called a lot of nasty names over the years due to his "outlandish" and "out of mainstream thinking" claims, but has since silenced many of his critics and made quite a few other scientists look foolish as many of his assertions have become proven facts. If anybody else remembers his name, it would help bolster this. A lot of other interesting stuff as well.

His name is Dr. Thomas Gold. I found a few fairly balanced articles. Seems I’ll have to pay for the archived WP article, if I want it.

I will have to pass on the first one because it comes from WorldNetDaily.com
The internet's political National Enquirer.
The second one is interesting but is goes against most expert opinion.
There's one thing for sure. We're all going to find out who's right.
