I have run McAfee and it doesnt come up with anything. I have AdAware and that hasnt gotten rid of the problem. I just got Spybot and that didnt get rid of the problem either.
Im going crazy here http://anabolicfitness.infopop.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif
This crap keeps popping up all the time and the 3 programs that I have that are supposed to take care of this kinda stuff arent working. What can I do to get rid of this crap?

You need a fire wall. If you have XP use the one in the control panel under Internet and Network Connections....right click and turn on the Internet Conncection Firewall under Advanced. Otherwise use Zone Alarm. I also prefer Norton Antivirus.

What exactly keeps popping up? Have you updated your AdAware defs?

Yeah, exactly. I've found AdAware to be an incredible product that's free... have you run the update?

Yeah you have to run the Adware update. Because they alter the programs so it can't detect them. The update found 49 items that the old one didn't for me this past weekend.
Also, some of them actually register themselves so you can take them out in add/remove programs.
If you want to take them out of your run directory in the registry that helps too.
They are all written differently so there are several ways they can initiate.
Go to Start, run, type regedit, click ok, open HKEY_CURRENT_USER, software, microsoft, windows, currentversion, run, and look for programs that you don't want to run and delete them.
Then do the same thing in LOCAL_MACHINE
MAKE SURE YOU DON'T DELETE PROGRAMS THAT YOU ARE SURE ABOUT.

I have done the AdAware update and it still doesnt get rid of it. What happends is it will say that there are 2 programs it couldnt remove and would it want me to remove them upon a restart. Well when I say yes and it restarts then it doesnt find anything.
Somehow this virus that I have hides itself when I do the scans.

There was a wierd program that I found called "PSD Tools ChannelUP v.1.0".
In the add/remove programs section it was the only one that said "remove only" next to it and I dont remember ever seeing it before. I deleted it and I hoped that solved the problem.
Thanks guys.

When I get to currentversion it does not give me a choice of "run". It lists : Devices, extensions, network, Printer ports, program manager, true type, windows, winlogon.
Any advice on what to do once I click on currentversions?

Are you running XP? It should be there. Is it HKEY CURRENT USER or HKEY LOCAL MACHINE that it's not in?

In Windows XP it is in both places. You'll also find it in HKEY_USERS_Softwate_Microsotf_Windows_CurrentVersi on for each user
