I also just bought into this qbid craze. Stock was like hundreth of apenny 3 months ago and it traded over 2 cents yesterday. Its supposed to be a gay and lesbian 24/7 tv channel and a subscrpition service like hbo.

Its at 0.0168 today (right now at least)... its intriguing, but the real test fir them is coming up. Theyll be previewing blocks of program to cable operators to try and woo them into carrying it as a pay subscription channel.
It could be huge, or it could be the latest fodder for our valient leader, Geo. Dubbya to drum up some "family values/moral decay" bs to fuel his campaign... I have them on my watch list just to see how it goes and decide if I should start kissing up to Decaman in the hopes of being remebered when he hits it big.

I took a 1/2 position in it because it sounds solid especially in todays climate with all the same sex marriage issues and stuff like that. I'd like to see it keep it's head above water at a penny + because some good news in a few weeks could move this thing big time.

I hold stocks for now. Not a trader. Have learned that I don't know enough or have stomach for futures, options or anything more complicated. Have a bit in foreign currencies and gold just cover all the bases. My holdings are all oil and nat gas, e+ps, canroys, all are Canadian except for some CHK, some junior gold cos, and one really cool e+p that is part Canroy (Peyto), took a big risk on that one, but did have an oppurtunity to speak with the ceo.If I knew more about the business I would add in some drillers and oil service cos.

I've learned that peace of mind is #1 . Also am more on the bearish side of things( can you tell?) Have been in the energy sector since last spring and have good paper gains. I'm feeling rather like I should cash all out while the getting is good. Wish I knew more as to how the upcoming rate increase will effect my holdings. The largest holding I have is cash. To be honest I'm not sure if that is where to be as well. For sure at some point the dollar will go down, gold will rise and stocks will drop.

What I would love to know is how to make money or at least hang on with these trends. I read quite a few e newsletters, one of which is John Mauldins and he writes about finding the trend and using that info to profit.

I guess I'm feeling like the market is at or close to its top and from there down is where its headed and will it drag the energy sector down with it?

In the last month or so the 04 CL's have been progressively more emotionally driven. There are many new players in the game of nymex energy futures, mostly inexperienced people such as myself. Price movements are much more pronounced than they once were a few months ago. Inconsequential news on the supply of energy is making me reconsider my prior trading strategy of buy and hold since it's been stuck in a trading range for quite some time now. I started with a short-term buy and hold strategy in futures. I then began moving in and out of positions daily until I gave myself shingles by losing almost 600 grand in one day, which forced me to rethink my strategy and naivety. I am now back to buying, holding and attempting to profit from the death and destruction of others, which oddly enough doesn't cause me anguish or stress in the least bit.

Why ponder future events you can’t control?

I agree with that. A good place for energy info is on yahoos board for CWEI. Very detailed info on daily gas flows for ng, as well as other parts of the sector from folks in the know. No doubt lots of new folks getting involved. I was fortunate enough to get in last spring when the sector was so unfollowed. For sure since then it has had its ups and downs, thanks to what you mentioned. Over all direction has been up. I havent sold any energy holdings. Learned my lesson about buy and hold, still will do so until every one else climbs aboard.

Read up on the CWEI board on Yahoo stocks. Hands down the best info on what is REALLY going on. Everything else is bs. SA wants price 32-35. Has very little or next to no ability to increase output. Very much a disconnect with present price and current storage. Also look for ng and oil to be disconnected re price. NG will vary seasonally, if normal weather prevails things will be interesting next winter. ---valerie

Buy Hoechst-Roussel again in September when I'm getting ready to cue up some more of the Gear of the Gods. A good tren cycle for me always puts a few points on the Hoechst-Roussel sticker.

Valerie, how do you like your brokers at present and what platforms do you use.

I'm with refco right now since the smaller brokers don't clear themselves and most of them outsource trade execution to refco.

I use vanguard so I have everythng under one roof. I don't do much trading and at this point am keeping things simple. Diversifying outside of the stock market and of course looking for the dips to buy more of what I have now. Vanguard is working well for me now, of course they are higher in trading fees than other online, budget type brokers, but not so much so and they have all the services that I need. At this point I have lots of learning to do before I get into options, etc. Love to find some deep value and divvys would be icing on the cake.--valerie

It's just really cheap options from now on out. I can't handle sleeping for no more than 4 hours at a time, checking the news.

Qbid has launched on rcn. Stock currently sitting at .006. It bottomed at about .0038 i think and has hovered around half a penny since. Just figured i would share. If they can get some advertisers on board and hit the goal of 150,000 subs first year - who knows. I'll take 10 cents as my prediction for the pps in one year

ASTM, STEM, and GERN...up over 40% between all of them this past week on my trades. I left a lot on the table selling on the dips for fear of losing my money. I still like the companies but they were pure momentum plays. Check out the yahoo messageboards and charts on these guys. I have 10,000 ASTM right now and plan to sell into strength MON am....

As a safer play I really like LU and the small and mid cap ETFs...I "gamble with about only 30K and now more then 1/2 of that is house money for 2005!

I am so pissed that i missed the stem plays. I was looking at stem in the 2's awhile back and should have known astm would run after stem did. Astm still has room to move and i will be watching the viacell ipo also. Now is the time to get into these stocks if you ask me as some goverments are starting to warm up to stem cell research. These stocks could easily be 10 baggers from these levels

Been day trading the Stem stocks and have made some more money. They deserve permanent attention if you are looking to hit a homerun. ASTM is a good bet around 2 IMO.

Anybody got some new ideas?
