Back from my break, and I missed everyone here. I have made some big changes in my life and there will be even more to come soon but I have come to realize that I cannot put myself on the back burner any longer because it is of no good to my kids or for myself.
I pretty much am starting from stratch again and will begin with baby steps but I have also realized that not doing anything isn't helping.
I also realize that I am going to celebrate the small accomplishments that happen daily so I can stay positive and continue to workout!
taking Hidngod's advice I went for a bike ride last night... it was AWESOME (thanks) and will be doing that regularly until the snow comes. I will be selling my dreadmill for an eliptical. I am embrasing other forms of cardio, and I celebrate the fact that I used to be able to run and did it well but I can make different goals with different forms of cardio!
I just want to stay active and eat healthy and BE HEALTHY, as long as I stick to that the cards will fall where they do and I KNOW THAT.
my whole focus this time around is living heathly lifestyle again, enjoying my workouts.... and....I am doing this for me!
I most likely will be doing cardio one day, and weights the next but it will be something active daily no matter what! as the weeks go on it will become more structured.:drama: LOL
WORKOUT
Today I will be working for 9 hours straight and it is constant walking with no breaks, and I made turkey wraps for work instead of eating fried food!!!!!
My calories will constantly stay around 1500-1600 for the time being, using fitday!

I am soooo picking up the notebooks OMG, those were the first thing i thought of this morning LOL... yup I am a geek, the cool thing too is I get to buy a whole bunch of office supplies for the bar! sharpie pen that doesn't bleed through, hmmmmm, we need one of those at work tee hee.
my lower back is a little sore today in a good way(cough...squats), but that is why I am doing no major cardio, I am finally listening to my body, eating right and I feel fantastic!
I must say overall the body is doing good, the major mind issue I have is the fat on my thighs, booty and stomach, HOWEVER, right now my focus is just getting back into it SLOWLY and if fat comes off in those areas it is just a bonus.
I just feel 100 million times better doing something!
oh yeah and my booty is sore from the bike rides LMAO:bear:

Hey are you feeling a difference with those ankle weights? I've always wanted to play with those.
Have fun school shopping! I'm a big :nerd: and love that kind of stuff too. There's something nice about having nice, clean, new notebooks and folders. Kinda the same sense of "whee!" you get when you open a new tube of toothpaste or a new jar of pb. lol

the ankle weights are ackward at first and if I leave them on too long my feet fall asleep, but I find a big difference on the dreadmill and even have to lower the speed.
school supplies done, cloth shopping in two weeks!!!! I know the kids feel all cool and more confident with new stuff, but i guess so do we, and I find they are a little more excited going to school with new stuff, we try recycle as much as we can but a 13 year old boy can do a lot of damage LOL. I pre bought my daughters supplies through the school, she is quite upset we didn't get much for her. I got my 4 year old, who isn't even in school yet a small dora back pac so she didn't feel left out!

Weren't you the blister queen?
If so, it's my duty to inform you that I have taken over the title of blister queen and you will have to find a different title to pursue. :D
I walk 3 miles every nite - I seem to acquire a new blister almost every day. Oh well, I just keep buying more bandaids. Gotta do what I gotta do and what I gotta do is walk this fat off.
:bmj: I am also a fan of new school supplies - ahhhh the smell of new gel pens in the morning.

I had a tummy tuck and breastlift to fix the damage from the 4 kids. It was worth every penny. I did not have lipo. It just wasn't needed.

I needed a valium when I took my four to the store, lol. It was insane. I'm not doing school supplies yet though because until the teachers give us lists, we just end up buying more than we need..... I am SOOOOOOO ready for school to start! My last one starts this year! (I feel like a free woman, lol)
Oh and I wanna do the tummy/breast thing next year too. As long as the money falls in line, I will.

I am wondering if the lipo will be needed too, or if they will just try up sell me. I would like to lose at least 10 more pounds before I go. the damage on my tummy from my kids didn't even go away at my lowest weight and there was actually more so I am excited.

We get our school supply list at the end of the year and have to hold on to the sucker until the end of summer. some of the stores are great and have the lists from all the schools and all the grades available.
Your a lucky woman, I have one more to start next year, but I really want to enjoy my last year with her. I was luck to stay home with my oldest girl and it has been nice.

My PS told me I didn't need lipo and wouldn't do it. I wanted it. I felt fat with all the skin. The right PS will tell you if you will benefit from it.
Every year, I get the school supply list after I purchase the supplies. Bought clothes, back packs, shoes and supplies yesterday. Came home and the supply list was in the mailbox :) I think school shopping is cardio :)
I am actually not looking forward to school. I have three in middle school and I hate middle school. Plus, two will be doing school sports which means getting up at 5:30 AM for school and picking them up somtimes at 11 PM from sports. I'm too old for this.

Man, all this talk of kids and school and supplies -- sheez! It's funny to read you ladies on the OTHER side. I'm buying supplies too but it's for my classroom to entertain your children!!!
Triv's a free woman... and I'm back to my cell. *sigh*
Well, CK, I'm happy you're back in action and your plan looks great! Just keepin' it movin' and eating properly will bring those changes you want. :wiggle: Most important, I'm happy to see you showing yourself some love. Excellent. Congrats on your promotion as well ;)
Regardless of your decision on PS, my single piece of advice is to drop the excess body fat that you can before you do it, only because (especially in the case of the TT and possibility of lipo) the loss of fat will really help the undesired skin appearance show, allowing your PS to repair it with more ease. And then, since you would've already lost some excess fat on your own, your doc really WILL have a better idea of if lipo is right for you (and in the case of the TT alone, consider that tightening of abdominal wall may be included in the procedure and/or lipo of the abdominal region as well to rid of the intramuscular fat).

thanks for the info about the PS, looking into a couple right now!

well past three days have been eat, sleep work, rinse and repeat.
the manager keeps turning off the air conditioning and it is +32 here. He seriously can't understand why people all of a sudden get up and leave, and I have to wear jeans, cowboy boots (with socks and a black t-shirt). The positive is I have sweated out 4 pounds LOL
I have to work again today and catch up on house work so regularly scheduled workouts again tomorrow. It is going to be another heat wave again so I figure I will sweat another 4 pounds off doing housework.

Good Lord, sorry y'all are sick! Dammit!
I am still intrigued as to why you bloated last week -- hmm, odd. Nothing in your food list tossed up an alarm with me, but I guess it could be salt in the ANPB... :dunno: Or maybe it was just being sick or not rested enough, who knows?
Get some rest!!!

It rained most of the summer where I live. We just started getting nice weather and the kids start school tomorrow.
Very clean CK! Nice work!
Nice work. I would faint on that little food. It might be a good idea to add some protein in the morning.
Is it true that mall has an ice rink in it? I can see some kid hitting a slap shot & putting the puck in the Gap.
I haven't had any eggs and I couldn't stomach anything else, hence no protein LOL but I bought some so back on track.
Yup huge skating rink, waterpark, amusement park, and various other activities. we didn't end up going though

today is a glass half full / half empty day.
Half empty
My friend committed suicide yesterday morning. My heart is in so much sorrow for his family. However, I am extremely angry and have strong feelings about the subject of suicide and will leave it at that.
Half full
We received some very interesting medical results on my step son who was dubbed austistic. His
MRI results: normal,
chromosone results: normal.
EEG results:normal
hemoglobin results: a little low
amino acid results: some not within normal range.
What does this all mean..... he may or may not have autism. They are looking at a cellular level to see what is causing his disability. His mother was told that he unrulling behaviour was due to her poor parenting and that maybe he should live with us full time if she can't get her act together!!!!
There is a long history there, too much to get into but because of the doctor recognizing the difference between households and the implications it will have with his school and hopefully his home life at his mom's it is a good day.
No workouts for due to doc's appointments and stupid news.
Tomorrow or tonight will be back to regularly scheduled programming. My glass will be completely full tomorrow!!!!!!!

chin up! everyday that your not under ground is a good day (sorry watched scareface again last night LOL). We may never fine out what our son does or does not have and I am ok with that, we just want the best for him like any parent would for any of their kids, unfortunately his mother would rather blame it on a disease then fix what she is doing wrong. xoxoxoxoxo

So figured out what was causing the bloating..... needless to say the doc's put me on a liquid diet of Ensure for three days then I slowly have to start back on solid foods and bed rest for an entire week if not more (with school starting, yeah right LOL).
on a positive note, loosing a lot of weight now LMAO.

Mmm, 3 days of Ensure. I would lose weight on that, too. Wait, did he say intravenous?
How old are your kids. I was taking care of my Mum while Dad was at work, when I was 10. Then when I was at school, I had to run home every day & change the TV channel. It was hard, 'cause it was uphill both ways. And it was so far away, the seasons changed as you were walking.
 Feel better Mama ck.

My First Day Of School
Written by CK
We drove my son to his new school and they asked us to come back at 9:00am. We came back to our car to drive my daughter to school and were blocked in. I went back into my son's school and asked if an announcement could be made to get the car moved, I was informed I had to go to the high school next door since I parked in the teacher's high school parking lot and they do that cause they get annoyed with people parking in their stalls (even though there are NO signs saying it is private parking... anyways) went to the high school, then had to wait. My younger daughter was late for school. Nine o'clock, we went back to nathan's school and were told that he had to be put on a waiting list because he was not babtised, but they were going to make room for my younger son because he is babtised (oh yeah, our younger son may be coming to live with us YAHOOO). Left the school, called the superintendent and now waiting to hear back from the principal because he is in big doo doo because my daughter is not babtised either and she goes to the catholic elementary and was not put on a waiting list.
Not writing this to get into a debate, just pulling my hair out because of frustration, and my son is sitting at home right now without a school to go to....arrrr

Baptisms are pretty fast/easy to do. I'll bet you can have a private baptism with a priest and have your children blessed at the same time. :)
Nice work at the gym, woman!

I know, I asked the superintendent "so, if my son gets babtised tomorrow will you make room for him too?" It is mommy furry right now that my son is not being accepted and my other children are (one being babtised and my daughter not and she goes to a catholic school)

Well, my boy came home from his first day, with the biggest smile on his face, I have not seen that in two years!!!!!! He loves his new school right now, he loves his options (web design and outdoor ed) Obviously the switch was the right thing to do, mommy worries a little bit over now.
Yeah the parking is even worse at my daughters school, I have to park 3 blocks away. BUTTTT, bus passes are a god send!!!! LOVE THEM.
As for the workoutssss, well I am signing up the whole family to this center. IT has a swimming pool, skating rink, gym, soccer field, track and a gym!!!!! It also has day programs for my little one so I can workout while she is in preschool. It is mondo expensive but well worth it. They have drop in volleyball, basketball, football and soccer for kids and adults in the evenings.
I need a different form of cardio, and I could buy an eliptical with the membership fees we are goign to pay but then my family would not benefit and they have eliptical machines there!!!!!!
I am unemployed at the moment as I took a leave of absence from my work, but it is all good cause I need to reorganize for the up coming year.
Lets just say, things are GREAT, and going to get even better soon!!!!

I'm glad to see things are coming together for you, C. The school stuff alone can be a tremendous load of stress when things aren't going right.
And having access to a gym with the variety of equipment is a blessing when you're needing variations, especially with a family deal.
Gald to see you're back at it.

going swimming with my youngest daughter and ...
2x10
lat pull downs
back extensions
bicep curls
ez bar curls
huge delima...
received an amazing job offer and money isn't bad either with a raise to come in 3 months. Now, we plan on moving to another province by the end of the year but this job opp would give me enough experience to take me to another level, however they expect me to be long term.
Another point, I did not get the chance to stay home with my two boys but have stayed home with my daughters, it is my youngest daughters last year before kindergarten and so she would end up in a dayhome and I have HUGE mommy guilt.
I could take the job, pay off some bills, and gain some experience while screwing the company around as we are moving and put my daughter in daycare and my older daughter in before school care
or
I could not take the job and take some more courses before we move
WHAT DO DO????????????????????????
slimm26
09-25-2008, 09:51 AM
You have to do what makes you happy. Whether you take the job or just take more courses either way you're getting more experience. You have to do what you want to do. If you want to go back to work I'm sure the kiddos will be understanding and putting them in to daycare/before school care lets them have fun with kids their age. Can you use the extra money? Or stay home and have fun with the kiddos...stay as stress free as possible before the stress of the big move comes! Either way it's a big decision. In the long run you need to do what makes you happy! :rose:

No matter what you choose, as long as your children are well loved and taken care of, they'll be fine no matter what your decision is in the end. They may not understand but I'm sure they'll roll with it with no problems. So ultimately you need to do what's best for YOU, your family, and your financial situation.
You don't want to miss an opportunity that may lead you to a bigger one down the road!

Exactly. Kids are flexible. You have to look towards your future.
Ethically, I suppose it wouldn't be right to take the job, because you would be misleading them. But, things may change, you may decide to wait 'til next year to move. And you don't have to tell them 'til a couple weeks before that you're leaving.

+1 to what they said. This is simple but effective most times when trying to make a decision: Take a piece of paper, draw a line down the middle of it, PROS on 1 side, CONS on the other side. Then get to listing positives and negatives of each thing. That way you have to really think about each aspect of your dilemma.
Its good to see you doing well, Twinny! I'm following your lead and slowly getting back in.:)
I love the elliptical too! That machine just whips my butt!

Well so far my decision is being made for me, there are ALL the dayhomes are full! LOL. I think that in its self is telling me something.
With us moving hopefully by the beginning of summer I really don't want to screw this company, a father and son own the company, they seemed so nice and they are going through some growing pains.
and goign swimming with my daughter yesterday kinda sealed the deal. We had so much fun and today they are all here for PD day, and I don't know what I would of done with all of them on pd days.
I can still take a courses to get ahead, and I think it would be a good idea so I am more confident because this job was a step ahead of what I usually take on.
Thanks everyone for your imput, it really helped!

So, basically you're saying you'rre gonna attend night school and play with the kiddies? Can't say I blame ya at all.
But if you're declining the job 'cause you think it's over your head, that's not right. Most people take jobs by lying through their teeth, then learning on the job. I'm sure you'd be great.
The thing is, it's a win/win, whichever way you go.

Thing is they have hired three before me, who did lie LOL and new nothing about the accounting program they were using. I have been using the program for three years but obviously we are not a multimillion dollar company LOL. I was truthful and told them I did not know the payroll system they use and they said they are willing to train...... ug and too top it off my little one developed the chicken poxs over the weekend so NO dayhome will take her, and there goes the gym for another week.
I will work out at home, but I gotta getting my eating in check again, I went over board this weekend. I know I am saying this out loud but I truly wish right now they had a magic pill, at least to curb my appetite....ug
I have to phone the company today and let them know AHHHHHHH.

Stressing doesn't make it easy for you! Take it easy! Just sit down and write down the pros and cons of taking the job. Then you'll see in front of you what you're going to have to deal with and see if it's truly worth it or not. Do what is best for you sweetie! :)

We only get to have our kids at home for a few years....we can get about the business of making real money once they start school. I know that sounds old fashioned, but that is what we did to the best of our ability and have never regretted it. We started our family young...way young...so we were in college until they started school, so there was never more than a 2-3 hours a day that they were not with us.
I even know a couple different guys that are at-home dads. Where there is a will, there is a way!

Its sort been decided for me, the job starts tomorrow and my youngest has the chicken pox.
Did a lot of thinking last night and I am going to take this time to enjoy my last year with younglings. When we move I definitely have to get a job because the cost of living is higher in the province we are going to move.
Not a lot of women these days are blessed with the choice of staying home and I am not going to stress anymore about it. I already started my courses and the next is to get this booty in shape!!!!!!

she still has a rash, it isn't chicken pox. We believe it is an allergic reaction to changed laundry detergent, so we changed back, rewashed all her clothes but they havent gone away. We are taking her back to the doc tonight. Otherwise she is fine.

Since the rash is all cleared up, you need to bring us up to date with courses and the booty project :schoolkids:

Thanks everyone, yes this log has turned more into a chat line than exercise log LOL. I have to get the ok from my trainer first and then I will probably start a new log.
Things are going fantastic, booty is slowly getting in shape again. I can't go full force into working out since it has been so long but the stuff I am doing now is a great lead up to things to come.
I wasn't supposed to cheat for 4 weeks, but I did for thanksgiving. I already slapped myself for it (or at least my hubby did, wink wink, I know to much info, but I thought it was funny LOL). Back on track as of monday. Since my daughter has been sick the gym stopped phoning me but hubby and I are going to workout at the gym tonight.
I have been swimming 1 or 2 times a week, going on the dreadmill (walking), lifting weights and moving furniture, painting and decluttering the last 2 weeks to get the house ready to sell!

Good job on the swimming! Isn't it fun?!?! :hyper:
Ugh, selling the house = pain in the butt. Don't go insane from that. It's no fun for sure. But it's great that you're getting out and moving around! Don't beat yourself up too much for cheat meals. They happen!
